Oh and there is also another way to check if Lps are fake or not ,where it has the writing it will say Hasbro on the bottom or somewhere else on the Lps please put this in your next video
One big tip as well when identifying if an lps is real or fake is putting all these factors into consideration, there’s almost always an exception! Below I added some tips for anyone searching for guidance :) 1. ACCESSORIES!! 95% of the time you see a main five pet coming with non official bows, skirts, phones drinks, it’s likely to be a fake. Especially with it being charged so low(ex. lps shorthair cat #339 + five accessories) this isn’t always the case but it usually is. 2. Head shapes! Of course neck ridges are the best way to authenticate an lps, but another great tip I have learned when it comes to their heads is that their faces tend to be flat(like op stated) but in specific this is the lack of U shaped cheeks for shorthairs, lack of chin and nose definition on the side of a dachshund(as well as flat ears in the back) and when the pets eyes do not pertain to the shape of the authentic. 3. eBay/Amazon: I HIGHLY recommend not purchasing any pet from either of these, Amazon especially. Amazon tends to sell lots of fake main five lps, and eBay tends to scam buyers, both in price and lack of clarification that the pet is fake. I have only purchased LPS from depop, mercari, facebook marketplace, and aliexpress(does not carry authentic main fives, just randoms surprisingly still in packaging as well as lots that do not contain main fives) 4. Though the magnet and peg trick is a bit outdated still take these into account!! If a pet does not have their designated magnet, peg, or date(sometimes authentics don’t match up to their release date, pay attention to that.) it is most definitely still fake. If it does have these properties, move on to the next step of your investigation. 5. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. So one day you’re scrolling on eBay(what are you doing!!!!), and you find dachshund 909 for only $15!! The pictures seem fine, you just got lucky. This almost never happens, eBay sellers will always leech as much money out of you as possible, please keep this in mind. Not saying it’s impossible again, just is on eBay. 6. Pay attention to the photos, genuine lps sellers will use their own pictures to display the pet, usually with a piece of paper with their user to verify this. If the quality, backdrops, etc are constantly changing, be sure to note this, and ask the seller privately for more authentication on the pet before making a purchase you will regret(not saying this is very common, but it does happen). 7. Even though it’s not a main five, doesn’t mean there aren’t fakes out there. For the longest time I would tell myself: oh it’s just a beagle! There can’t be fakes! Came down to the conclusion that this is NOT true. Fakes are still out there and people creating these have paid attention and branched out. It’s unlikely that you will become victim to this, but regardless stay cautious. 8. RESEARCH EVERY. SINGLE. LPS. YOU. BUY. I mean it!! Don’t be lazy! You are putting money into this, your joy, passion. Don’t let that get robbed from you because you got scammed out of your dream pet! Pay attention, add things up, and trust me, once you know your LPS is authentic, it’s much more rewarding than just a lucky draw. If anyone is reading this I hope this helps you out too!! Remember there are ALWAYS exceptions. Take note on all these subjects and that’s when you go from there, it’ll save you guys a lot of heart break.
I usually just buy shorthair cats and pretty much exclusively use Mercari to do so. A lot of times, I can tell if the pet is fake right away, but other times, I really need to look at the details. 1. The first thing I check for is the face space. Authentic shorthairs kind of have a bean shape. This isn’t always easy to tell from photos so then I move onto my tell-tale sign 2. The neck ridge. If I don’t see a prominent neck ridge, I’m not buying it. Even so, some authentic ones vary with how defined it is. So if that’s the case, I move on to extra factors 3. Are the eyes glossy? And is the pet supposed to have glossy eyes 4. Does the pet have a red magnet, blue magnet, or a hole? And which is the pet supposed to have? 5. Does the pet have a clear or white neck peg? If the pet has a white one, then I check to see if hasbro would have used white pegs when producing that pet (as some pets were made with both white and clear pegs)
Hi, I would like to include one good method not mentioned in this video: Paying attention to the plastic edges! (Only main5) - Usually main5 fakes have edge/line on their back when it should be on the sides (Not including great dane, they have line on their back) - Fake short hairs have line going up front side of their neck, authentic ones don't (as you can see in this video, all fake short hairs have this line) - Fake ones have line back of the tail, going up from their butt, making upside down Y -looking shape. (Fake short hairs have this Y shape under the tail) In authentic pets the line goes around the tail from both sides without connecting to butt (Not including great dane, they should have this line going from butt to tail) - Authentic collies have circle-shaped edge in their right front paw, fake ones dont. This method is good if you have the pet in your hands to observe. If buying from online, try to ask more photos where you can see how the lines/edges goes I hope this helps🫶
Thank you! I recently wanted to start building my collection again after finding my old LPS and don’t want to be getting scammed anymore. I’ve had fake ones come and their heads just fall off, so fingers crossed that won’t be happening anymore. 😂
I know it's not a exact distinction but I think they traded pink and blue magnets for a glossy finish on their eyes. The only exception to this is I have a pink octopus which has a blue magnet and glossy eyes. I don't know if this only applies to main fives because the more I think about it most of my little sister's pets have glossy eyes and blue magnets. So if the magnet is pink their eyes are likely to not be glossy and glossy eye pets are likely to either have a blue magnet or no magnet.
Dose anyone have good places to bus lps? I have been looking everywhere but all I have seen are fake and I have been trying to find ONE short hair cat but all I have ever seen is fake lps so is anyone can help let em know?
So are the pets I’m buying from Etsy fake or real because that’s where I normally find all my authentic LPS. I don’t trust eBay and I don’t trust Amazon.
hi I'm having a hard time figuring out if my #1 chihuahua is real because it's the first lps created and different from other lps figures so I can't tell if it's real or fake do you have any tips?
I bought lps 2249 recently and I’m still stumped on whether they’re real or fake. I’m going on them most likely being fake but what keeps messing with me is that they have rust and can bobble really well like an authentic. The eyes however, look slightly off. Does anyone know if fakes can rust too? Either way, I still love her but i just want to know if she’s fake or not so my mind can finally rest in peace lol
This video was filmed and edited 1.5 years ago 😭😂 Might be a lil outdated… but enjoy!!

SUGAR DIAMOND @AGC Toys NEEDS YOU TO COMMENT ON HER SHORT
This is random but we need a season 3 of half hearted pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee
If you put them in water and they float, they're real and if they sink, they're not.😊 Because fake LPs heads are filled real LPs heads are hollow

Rust makes it very likely to be real. Post some pictures on your community post and tag me if you want me to check.
Does it help if it has a lps mark to know if it’s real?
Probably not. Extra printing wouldn't cost too much.
Good to no👍
