Well… LPSCon 2024 made history alright! All in all, I’m happy I went so I could meet all of you. Everyone there was so incredibly friendly and kind 💕 That being said, there are some things I didn’t cover that are in the Instagram posts in the desc box. Please remember to keep these comments civil! Also, please do not worry about me! There are a lot of people who had far worse experiences than myself. I just wanted to make a video to help spread awareness. Here is LPSNatalie’s link to leave feedback for LPSCon: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfWHWoTNNfpVdbOQYgpUDoAOQrqp3vAG0vxpiETaAVx0ZYu9Q/viewform
Thankyou for sharing your experience, unfortunately I couldn't go this year but it's nice to know what to expect for next year! In general it sounds pretty fun but they should work on making it a bit less claustrophobic I think.
I feel as though the diabetic individual should’ve been able to bring their own foods. It’s a medical condition. It’s not like they were bringing it to snack on. It was for their diabetes. Diabetics bring some foods and drinks to take when their blood sugar gets low and if they can’t get their blood sugar up they could pass out or something worse can happen. And with the long wait times for food and drinks, that can also be dangerous for a diabetic person if they can bring their own.
diabetic here, pretty sure it’s not allowed to not let diabetics bring food in! It’s apart of the ada to help this problem! Conventions, concerts can get in trouble if they don’t let diabetics bring food in cause we need it incase we go low or we’re about to go low SPECIALLY in this heat our blood sugar can go low solely just by the heat alone. so whoever was denied entry can probably get LPScon in trouble
It was so nice meeting the people there! Literally attending has been my dream since I was a kid! ❤ I felt so at home with all the nice people in the comminity
Imagine losing your lps and seeing someone selling them. I really hope that person got thier lps back. Thanks for this video sugar. I hope that you enjoy lps con next year.😅
I think I’m glad I didn’t go. I have been seeing a lot of stories about everyone’s experiences on their Instagram stories. P.S, I hope Coppa does not mark this video for kids, ugh 💀 (EDIT: OMG 300 LIKES 😳)
Thanks for making this video! It's much needed. In regard to the diabetic individual and the venue; a venue cannot discriminate against someone who has medically necessary food, medicine, or equipment. Doing so is a violation of HIPPA and ADA laws which could result in a lawsuit. I attended LPSCon this year and witnessed what you mentioned in your video first hand. LPSCon has released a few statements now regarding what took place last Saturday. While a simple apology and correction of behavior would have been more than appropriate, they felt the need to shame the LPS community by suggesting attendees were somehow fabricating sicarios and that if somehow were to act upon self-harm, that it would be the communities fault for such actions. This is completely unacceptable. LPSCon hasn't taken responsibility for their actions, but have passed the buck and their future is now hanging in the balance. I will no longer support LPSCon. It makes me sad.
Thank you for making this video and bringing more awareness to what happened, honestly as someone who went to the convention from overseas, I was disappointed about how everything went down. I was so overwhelmed with everything that I couldn't do alot of the stuff that I was planning to do at the con (buy from vendors, talk to more people etc.) and after hearing alot more people's experiences, I'm so happy that I'm not alone about how I felt. The best part about all of this experience for me was getting to meet more of the community at large. Everyone that I talked to was so nice and welcoming and it makes me feel grateful being in this community despite everything that happened. Even though I wont be coming back to LPSCon, I hope the staff will take the feedback they received very seriously to improve. I met you briefly at the con and I gave you a pack of gifts, you were so sweet and I'm so happy that I got to meet you 💖
Hey Luna!! Thank you again for the art and gifts 💕 you are so incredibly kindhearted. I’m sorry that you had to travel all that way! Thank you for sharing and I also hope they can improve in the future.
As a type 1 diabetic who really wanted to go to LPS Con, I am SO glad I didn’t go. If I were to faint due to blood sugar because I couldn’t bring my own food, it would be at the hands of the con themselves.
If you ever do want to go LPS Con again or some other big event, be sure to research their food policies and potential accommodations they can make for diabetics _several months_ in advance. It is commonly the case that events with strict food policies are able to make arrangements for people with dietary issues, but only if they advise staff of their issues months before the date the event starts. This was the case for LPS Con 2024; they were able to accommodate attendees with diabetes, but only if they were given at least two months notice by the attendee in question. It's certainly not an ideal system, especially since tickets were being sold less than two months before the event, and I feel bad for any diabetics who attended the event. Perhaps at the very least there could have been better communication of this policy prior to the convention, so that people with dietary issues would be more likely to get their tickets and make arrangements more than two months prior.
@@D3athly._Hal0s oh, is that so? I wasn't aware of anything of the sort, but in that case the con or the venue would probably be more clearly in the wrong. Which law?
@@gayrurumon ADA (The Americans with Disability Act). If a convention or any type of public event prevents diabetics from bringing their own food & drinks due to a medical reason and/or low blood sugar, it is against the law as that’s basically discrimination towards diabetics under the ADA law.
@@D3athly._Hal0s well there you go! In that case, there was no good excuse to tell the diabetic not to bring in food (there hardly was already according to common sense, but y'know). Thanks for explaining that to me.
Thank you for sharing, Jen!! 💙😺 I wasn't able to go and my heart goes out to those who had some negative experiences. I agree that Las Vegas isn't family friendly. 🥺 I'm glad you had positive experiences meeting people though. 😊 Your major is so cool!
I’m only around halfway through but the thumbnail and title actually scared me oh my gosh I’m glad so far this is just general con issues so far and not some horrible thing that happened directly to you
I never went to LPSCon ever but I have been to Lexington Comic and Toy convention where some people sell LPS but it is a big building and have food and drinks and so on but to hear all of this just breaks my heart and just wanna help people more. Hope they work things out till next year
I definitely think that they could change the location of the con to LA or somewhere else like that to make the trip worthwhile as well as being able to find big venues, LA and California in general holds a lot of cons such as anime expo (etc.) it would be much easier for them to get a bigger venue and there's a lot of cool things to do in California :)
I vendor at conventions literally as my job. I go to about 20 a year, all around the US east coast. I've been to plenty of horrible cons (which i will never go back to because it's just not worth the cost of travel). I personally am not part of the lps community, i haven't touched the things since atleast 2012, but here's my thoughts on some points brought up in the video as someone who vendors at many cons: 1:30 Aisles between booths need to be wide enough to fit at least 3 people standing side by side with their arms out (think t-pose) at a MINIMUM. If your aisles are not big enough, people will look down them and see how crowded they are and decide to check it out later. This leads to vendors inside the aisle booths getting less customers, while vendors around the edges/outside/corner booths getting all the attention. (This is the exact issue I had at Fanboy Expo in Knoxville Tennessee a few weeks ago. I was in an aisle booth and the aisles were too small. Nobody around me, including myself, made ANY money.) 2:40 Now this is just goofy im so sorry😭. I'm friends with the owner of a con I attend (Scarefest in Lexington Kentucky! It's one of my top 2 cons, I always do great there. I've been doing it for 12 years!). Not only does the convention center supply tables and seats, but they bring their own to make sure we have enough for everyone! There's some on the con floor, hallways, outside... Tons of seating. I don't see how a con with like... 1000 attendees can run out of seating unless they just cannot afford to buy more seats and/or the convention center doesn't supply tables and chairs. Hopefully they can use their profits from this year to buy some more seating next year because you shouldn't have to ROTATE tables. 3:10 this happened at the fanboy expo i went to a few weeks ago... it was so hot PLUS HUMID BECAUSE IT WAS RAINING- unloading my truck was a pain to begin with because the loading dock was underground so even more hot... and then I had to wait in line for 30 minutes in the heat for the most mid tacos you could ever lay your eyes upon. I could understand not having shade by the trucks/line, but the outside tables didn't even have umbrellas. They chose to put the food trucks directly on the side that got the most sun when there was a truck-accessible courtyard area on the other side of the building where it was shaded. I'm horribly susceptible to heatstroke due to the fact i take medical steroids & am anemic so i literally felt like i was going to die waiting for my 14$ tiny little tacos. 4:01: While I assume the goodie bags weren't their biggest priority (looking at their guestlist page other things cc's got was 3 hours early access, front of line access, fountain lounge access, workshops, photos&autographs), they should have atleast had the decency to make sure the things they put in there had... bodies and weren't just heads 😭😭😭. If your friend only got the head I assume someone else only got the body. I do think the prices are reasonable for the features it has. At most of my cons, VIP is around 110-120 dollars and only give you 1 hour early access and maybe a poster or a shirt. With the amount of stuff that cc badge gave it'd be worth like.. 200 dollars at any other con LOL. 5:00: This is definitely a huge mess up on their part. You should have the schedule set in stone at least a month before your con starts. This is a good way to get threats of legal trouble. If someone pays 130 dollars for a pass and misses an event they PAID to go to due to the con neglecting to give correct times... yeah. I get if something comes up, someone cancels (which might've been the case with that missing panel), but you need to make sure to announce it over the loud speaker and by the way you said the parents were mad i'm assuming they were not doing that. 5:40: This is pretty standard for cons. 30 minutes-an hour is usually the time between panels. BUT for such a small con with only 4 panels (i'm guessing all 4 of those people were squished into that 30 minute timeframe?? That itself is kinda icky, you could just give 30 minutes to each person but I can't comment on that too much since I don't know how long their individual panels ran for) you shouldn't have much of an issue with giving time and space between each panel. For most cons I go to there's usually 10-12 panels squished into the 8 hours the con goes for and they STILL get around an hour between each panel sometimes. 6:15: this is really gross on the cons end. Nothing more to say. Howling made the effort to dm the con not only on instagram but through email. I would get it if they never claimed them or tried to get them back, but they made an effort to retrieve them. 7:33: While this is partly on the people (you should have the decency to not swarm people), most cons I go to have security at the raffle booth. One to two at the very least, for this exact issue. 9:26: I do have a lot of gripes with cons that do this but some cons don't even bag search you at all. When I was going to the one in Knoxville this year they had a guy checking bags at the vendor entrance. My purse was literally FULL and all my stuff was covered by sodas/water bottles and wires, he just opened the bag and closed it again without even checking the stuff underneath. It wasn't like there was a line or anything, he could have checked a little more thoroughly. In lpscons case, very big safety issue for nobody to be checking bags in a con mainly aimed at children/teens. I'm honestly a little tired after writing all this so I might come back and comment on the rest of the video later
Thank you for bringing awareness to this. I feel like this was never really talked about even in previous lpscons as well. I hope that this will result in many improvements in the future!
@@SugarDiamond I hope it went well for her she was really excited on her live from the day before when she drove for a couple hours or more it was her first time going too
Those people likely slipped through the cracks. From what I gathered from watching the ceo's video, the "no outside food" policy was *supposed* to be very strict this year, moreso than previous years, apparently at the request of the venue. Anyone seen with snacks brought from outside was technically not supposed to have them, and must have somehow avoided being caught bringing them in. I'm guessing is a result of the under-staffing that was an issue at the event, and it also suggest to me a potential failure to communicate the outside food policy to attendees.
@@gayrurumon multiple people have stated they had snacks on the tops of bags that were checked and lunch boxes that were in plain view there was no 'sneaking' with most of the people who DID get food in, it was fairly obvious so either most of the staff were unaware of the no food policy or i honestly dont know what other option there is than that
I have yet to attend this con, it sounded like a nightmare omg! I really hope they take this time to make LPScon 2025 and the following years an amazing experience. I can't wait to have the chance to attend. Thank you for making this video as a lot of us were very confused on what happened. I saw their post on IG but it didn't make much sense because I wasn't there lol.
Hi there! My daughter and I went to LPSCon in 2022 and had a good time. We really liked the venue they had. We both bought the expensive tickets so we got goody bags but they were plain and could have been better for the price we paid. They could have at least put a sticker on the bags to make them look cuter. We bought tickets in advance to go this year but unfortunately we were affected by Hurricane Beryl (we live in Houston, Tx) so we werwnt able to go. Iemailed LPSCon customer service, and they made an exception & issued us a refund. We would still like to attend another LPSCon in the future but hope things arent chaotic.
5:18 So I went to lps con and this was a HUGE issue Me and my mom spent over 30 minutes trying to find out where lps honey was because it said “Second floor” … We went upstairs last minute and found her on the *THIRD FLOOR*?!? And the seating was really messed up so I ended up just giving her a little gift and leaving due to the con almost being over :/ Another thing, we had to walk down MULTIPLE flights of stairs because the elevator was broken! If I went with one of my family members (who is in a wheelchair) we would’ve been stuck on whatever floor we were on before it broke!! And it went down at (I think) 2 pm and it was still down at the end of the con :/ I feel so bad for the disabled people that might’ve gotten stuck on a higher floor And *ANOTHER* complaint I have is how there should be at LEAST a bit of food inside!! Because when me and my mom went to eat, I kid you not, I almost passed out because of the heat, AND I WAS IN THE SHADE!! I was trying to eat but couldn’t because of how hot, nauseous, and out of it I felt! This was my second convention EVER! I really enjoyed it though!!! (I got a lot of lps I totally needed 😍)
Thank you so much for also doing this video. I feel like it's important for people to know all of this. I went this year too and am so happy I met you :) Also I did a similar video yesterday and I have a vlog for anyone's to check out! ❤
I believe they chose Las Vegas because the CEO literally lives there. It started out much smaller and when she was very young, so naturally it would be in the city in which the main organizer lives, where else? I'm not sure if it has been held in Vegas every year since then, or whether it being held in Vegas has been regarded as an issue in year previous. Now that the event is bigger, I suppose they could potentially change cities, but it may take so much time/money/organization to make such a change that the organizers might not consider it to be worth it. As far as I know, it's very uncommon for conventions to jump to a completely different city, much less state as I see some people suggesting. Also, I don't understand your remark about the amount of LPS fans in Vegas, which I am reading as sarcastic. Las Vegas is the most populous city in its state, I assume it would have about the same ratio of LPS fans as any other big city? Am I missing something here?
@@kathycollins3260 a venue change, sure. They clearly need a bigger venue if the con is going to continue to have so many attendees, and as a matter of fact, in the video I watched made by the CEO it was mentioned that is an option they are considering. I'm just not sure whether it would be necessary or feasible to change cities completely, or why the location of Vegas seems to be seen as such an issue.
I went to Kcon and this year Kcon was a blast of fun with celebrities on the side when they are getting ready to sing/rap there song and this time for the meet and greet their was no glass this time and you can film and bring posters on stage and their prices were cheaper and waited inside with air conditioning when coming in and at the end I lost my voice from screaming when every Kpop band came on.I will comeback for next year ❤🙌🏻
I’m now glad I didn’t go. I’ve seen lots of Instagram stories and it all just seems like a lot. I do have a lot of social anxiety, so hearing there was no where to go to really decompress for a few minutes isn’t great. I’m also upset with how LPScon responded when it can to reselling lost items from the previous year. I hope it gets better, and it the mean time, I’m glad there’s other options for LPS conventions. I also think all the points and suggestions you made for improving the convention in the future were all very helpful and well thought out. I love the idea of the safety and rule video being played while people wait in line. That’s a very smart idea, and I do think it will be effective.
I kinda had a bad feeling about it this year because the entire ad campaign just felt wrong. Some were even almost worded that like- If you're too poor to go you highkey suck lol.
What!!! I had so much fun !! 😭😭 I don’t know how amazing previous LPSCon’s have been THE BEST because this was my first year attending as it’s been my dream since I was a kid, but I do understand that it was too cramped and the outside food law along with the limited food options. Also it was really hard for me to trade in the first place. I’m still so happy I went and I enjoyed every part of it, but I really do understand why others wouldn’t have a great experience.
I’m glad to see the lps community is coming back! I’ve noticed an increase in people posting positive videos about lps on tiktok and it makes me so happy
That’s awesome that you spread awareness about this! Thank you for that, even though I didn’t go. I apologize if most of this was hard for me to understand but I want to be here to listen and understand.
You go girl you tell em’ with that business analytics major! Cause hearing , seeing and watching content about this year’s con was shocking, to put it briefly. I stand with you and everyone else wanting to make our cons better, our community should have the proper outlet to come together and share in our love for LPS and the art we create from it as well. It’s important to have the right people on the creative project organization board for cons and if there’s ever a vote for you to help manage it I definitely would want you to be involved with all your projects and content you contribute to the LPS community you are more than qualified to put in place the inner workings of the cons, as well as not allowing it to get so hard that not even water can be free. Thanks for posting this video to get more input on this important issue everyone had this year. And hope for a better communicated and created con for next year to be outshining this latest short of a disaster❤️🩹. Lots of big hugs and love from a fellow LPS lover!🩷 Take Care.💕🐶🐱🐹🐰🦊🐼💖
When me and my family were in line for the free raffle ticket for one of the dragons, the person in front of us said that when they went to get raffle tickets ( the regular ones not the free one for the dragon )there was a sign that said they were 5 dollars, apparently when they were going to pay, the person selling the tickets took away the sign and said that the tickets were actually $10. I can’t be 100% sure whether this was true or not because, they could have been lying for whatever reason but it’s still something to think about. Also my dad had to experience the line for food first hand, my poor dad 😭 I personally had a fantastic time at LPSCon but it definitely could have been run alot better
I saw that someone said someone passed out in the bathroom. They should have added fans but then again it probably still would have been crowded. I agree with you they should move to cali because it might be more accessible to me and other people. I hope next year will be better.
I'm very sad that people had such a bad time! I'm glad I definitely didn't go, with someone with sensory issues. I would have hated the noise/ people I don't think i would have enjoyed it much. I'm very glad that you are talking about this! I definitely hope that this changes or people make better Cons/ meetups. I'd honestly rather go to a meetup...if i ever get the money for it 😅
I used to be in this fandom, just came here to check up on things, I have been reading some of peoples experiences, and geez. This was worse than anthrocon 2023
It was so good to see you! It’s unfortunate it wasn’t very organized. It seems there are other meet ups taking note of the issues from here, so hopefully we can have better alternatives in the future! 💞
I am no longer part of the LPS community or the toy community in that matter but I’m sorry that you guys had a terrible time. This is why people need to be more organized in the industry.
Thank you for doing this video 🙏 I didn’t end up going this year but hearing all of this went down gives me a little peace knowing I didn’t waste money on a chaotic event. I’m really hoping that next year they step it up and people continue to have lots of fun and meet their online homies 🕺🏼✨
i really hope lps con apologizes and takes in the criticism rather than privately. i don’t want lpscon to die out, but at the same time i’m unsure if they’ll address the situation in a less guilt-trippy way… but overall i completely agree with everything you said! ty for staying respectful and giving good advice :3 i hope staff sees this, i genuinely think it would be extremely helpful
Thank you, Sugar Diamond for beans honest. As a collector, I am glad I couldn’t and didn’t go. Also o a, very sorry about the food situation, I am so grateful the you are alright. 😢❤ you are the best girl, I will watch your videos until I’m 80 lol😂
I agree with practically everything you’ve said From experience I can say that the first floor was so overwhelming and I was uncomfortable for like the first hour The staff were a bit mean and loud but I’m glad they took the time to be there! I was sad because they don’t have more opportunities for standard ticket people to meet their favorite creators And also not that many people always have the money for vip (my drive there was already expensive) But I am really glad to have gone and met people and bought things! (Btw they only had four dragons up) I won the raffle but not for the dragons. Anyways… thanks for making another wonderful video! I think this perfectly sums up lps con 2024!
There is still news and stories coming out about the convention so we will see if it happens again. I also know that there are many other lps conventions starting to pop up!
I've heard so much bad from so many people 💔 I wanted to go so bad but I'm a little happy I didn't...this won't change my view in the future because I know that they can do better and maybe next time they will! It's just a shame so many people had not so good times and I can agree being a mom most of my income goes to the baby ofc and paying that much money to have a bad time is such a bummer 😔 I have hope for the next one! I hope they listened to all the complaints and can make a change
8:07 by paying for water I assume you meant a bottled water because paying for a cup of water. Like my tired brain just thought is just predatory. Also we’re there not any water fountains? Because that seems like a dumb idea to not have at least a few. 12:10 I’m autistic, If LpsCon had been overwhelming for you, I can imagine how others like me felt.
I passed out it was so hot the lines for food and drinks was so long. For a drink I waited 2 hours and the line was only 12 people long. Thank God I didn’t die there from starvation
2:14 wait, wait, wait your telling me that the events upstairs were for content creators or V.I.Ps only?! I went up there and watched a whole work shop! I had no idea that I wasn’t allowed up there I feel really bad now😅 (I had standard admission)
8:44 I highly agree the customer service could've been better. I didn't know that content creator came with foam party and accidentally bought a ticket, but no refunds lol
Wow, who know having mild Fomo would've ended up turning into "I missed the LPS community's Dashcon". I hope everyone who went is doing alright now because just reading up on others' experiences I get the vibe it was mis-managed and dangerous & I think even when I can afford it I'll sit out on this con if it does happen again. Plus for some of my thoughts as an outsider looking in: - Vegas is a strange location for an LPS-centric event. While there are adult community members, I can't think of much to do in vegas that isn't 21+ which would leave younger members (even if they're 18-20) with nothing to do after the con, not even accounting for the high prices in the region that could easily price out people who don't have the funds linger around after the fact. I agree a more family & economically friendly area would make more sense - While it may be a regional thing, most of the conventions I've been to (even larger ones like Anime Boston) had panels for free by default so it comes off as odd & money grabby to paywall. - I'm surprised that an event for a community that has a large neurodivergent demographic didn't have accommodations for things like noise issues or crowding based off other people's anecdotes. For example, some conventions have quiet rooms for guests to get away from the con space without leaving the venue. Having the only options to leave be 2 pay-walled spaces & 100 degree weather is dangerous & irresponsible - Reselling lost items is just insanely scummy... That alone puts me off from considering going if I have the feeling forgetting something one year would have it not returned & sold off the next. I guess I don't have much of a horse in this race since I didn't go, but I'm just baffled
I will never go to lpscon now I read everyones story's and the staff is absolutely sick. Why did the water bottles cost money??? Like hellooo everyone is standing in the heat if someone faints its on them
For the second and third story thing, ive only heard that this year standard tickets were allowed to go on other floors for the first time this year!!!! I personally think that was a good idea!!
I know. I feel bad for them and all the backlash they’ve been getting. But it seems like there were a lot of stories that people have been scared to bring to light until recently.
where can i get the flower glasses and the table switching is horrible with me not being good at mobility and having arthritis the table swaping would be a nightmare for me even the crowded place....i am someone who cant move fast and can not get up fast and is slow i couldnt do it....and the Goodie bags sound horrible all of it does not sound like a fun or amazing time...
For the issues with crowding and no shade while waiting in line for food, this is pretty normal for me I go to conventions at least one weekend a month, as my family and I get all our money from them. Coming up we will have shows each weekend, most of which we travel states away for We’ve had shows where we come home VERY late at night, pack the next morning, and leave for the next show a day later And from all those shows I’ve gone to, while the show was crowded it’s not that bad compared to some I’ve done. Honestly, that show seems like it was right around how crowded the average ComicCon we do. And I don’t think I’ve really ever seen food trucks have umbrellas for shade, as much as I wish they would Schedule errors from cons SUCK. I’ve had a few that have had some (Will be editing this as I listen to the video to react to different points)
Imagine my parents driving 28 hours to go to Las vegas and we have the worst time ever. (I didn't go to lps con, I live in Indiana so you should assume it would take 28 hours.)
If the glasses keep falling off the lps figure, you could try to use a small sticky dot or tape to keep them on. Good video too! I never knew LPS had a thriving fandom like this! I still wish I had my LPS toys 😅.
it in a way reminds me of the latest disaster of twitchcon, it wasnt NOWHERE CLOSE TO BEING THAT BAD thankfully, people didnt have to go to the hospital or get misgendered or fainted probably and all the other stuff that happened there, but since twitchcon is a huge company and this is an event made mostly by one person i belive? its nowhere close to that level of bad LOL. I do hope she learns from her mistakes and think things through the next time theres an lpscon, im sure that the whole thing mustve been very stressful for her
I made videos showing what ppl had to say I tried to get everyone’s comments and posts as much as possible It’s really sad they did all of that and that apparently the father of the ceo also scammed the government as well so it really didn’t help her cause
Just the head in the goodie bag. Wow xD yeah. My husband and I both got cc passes. We got one "bag of lps" that was two lps, for both us even though we paied for 2 cc passes. We only got into 1 panel. The panel started 15 minutes late. My husband left the panel half way through cause the raffle was scheduled to have started then. But the raffle started late late. So we paied a bunch of extra money for 2 lps and 1.5 panels When we expected to be able to go to a few panels. Was not worth it. Never getting cc passes again. We did get 1 free water for the 2 of us though. Not saying it was not fun. But getting there at 11:10 and standing in line till 11:55 was ridiculous. The poor girl behind me in line got VERY sunburned. Also the con post said all the attendees "names" were going to be put into the con giveaway(a gold dragon) but they did tickets(?) Instead and not everyone got a ticket at the door. By there post I was under the assumption that when they took our names at check in that they would add the names checked in into the giveaway.
wow im so glad i cut my connection to the fandom i used to be a supplier and vendor for WC LPScon and the owner...treated me like shit! i could say so many things about how greedy they are, im just glad that i got out when i did and that she basically just stopped talking to me when she didnt need me anymore. this sounds like an absolute disaster as if the last one i attended wasnt enough of one! the way they treated vendors in general and how they kept track of sales was VERY shady and i cant imagine how messy it was with someones pet getting stolen and sold. nana did NOT know what she was doing, she never has, its embarassing. not gonna comment about everything as i wasnt there but it sounds awfullll i totally would have been willing to give out goodie bags with actual LPS free of charge just like i did a lot of other things for them for free but you cant force help on someone....shame
I SWEAR TO YOU GUYS THAT IVE NEVER BEEN TO A MY LITTLE PONY CON LPS CON LET ALONE ANY CON EVER AND IT MAKES ME SAD BECASUE I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT IT HOSTED OR HAPPENING AND MY PARENTS ARENT GOING TO TAKE ME MAYBE MY DAD BUT I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT HAPPENS
Most cons are in Cali anyway. I personally haven’t been able to attend because it’s in Vegas. It’s too bad this happened but LPSCon as a whole has always seemed a bit shady to me.

Well… LPSCon 2024 made history alright! All in all, I’m happy I went so I could meet all of you. Everyone there was so incredibly friendly and kind 💕
That being said, there are some things I didn’t cover that are in the Instagram posts in the desc box. Please remember to keep these comments civil!
Also, please do not worry about me! There are a lot of people who had far worse experiences than myself. I just wanted to make a video to help spread awareness.

Hey I saw that profile pic (but idk if it was that name) in daisy’s live yesterday so tell me if you were there!
That’s so fucked idk if I ever want to go to lpscon ever after this
I live in Pennsylvania, and I wanted to go to lpscon, but the problem is I hate large crowds, so I'm glad I didn't go this next

@@gayrurumon by law they’re not supposed to do that to diabetics.

Or the Midwest so it's fair to the USA people.
@@lunareclipse3242 Wisconsin so you get lps mice at the con and they come with cheese hats
I vendor at conventions literally as my job. I go to about 20 a year, all around the US east coast. I've been to plenty of horrible cons (which i will never go back to because it's just not worth the cost of travel). I personally am not part of the lps community, i haven't touched the things since atleast 2012, but here's my thoughts on some points brought up in the video as someone who vendors at many cons:
1:30 Aisles between booths need to be wide enough to fit at least 3 people standing side by side with their arms out (think t-pose) at a MINIMUM. Nobody around me, including myself, made ANY money.)
2:40 Now this is just goofy im so sorry😭.

@@LPSViolette I do! Just don’t comment much!
just wanna lyk MANY other people w/o medical needs were able to bring snacks
so saying no to the DIABETIC is crazy.
@@gayrurumon multiple people have stated they had snacks on the tops of bags that were checked and lunch boxes that were in plain view
there was no 'sneaking' with most of the people who DID get food in, it was fairly obvious
so either most of the staff were unaware of the no food policy
or i honestly dont know what other option there is than that

You are so well articulated, and you are being super constructive!! I love it !!
Aw thank you so much!! Hopefully they are able to make these changes or even other lps events take these into consideration!

So I went to lps con and this was a HUGE issue
Me and my mom spent over 30 minutes trying to find out where lps honey was because it said “Second floor”
…
We went upstairs last minute and found her on the *THIRD FLOOR*?!? And the seating was really messed up so I ended up just giving her a little gift and leaving due to the con almost being over :/
Another thing, we had to walk down MULTIPLE flights of stairs because the elevator was broken! If I went with one of my family members (who is in a wheelchair) we would’ve been stuck on whatever floor we were on before it broke!! And it went down at (I think) 2 pm and it was still down at the end of the con :/
I feel so bad for the disabled people that might’ve gotten stuck on a higher floor
And *ANOTHER* complaint I have is how there should be at LEAST a bit of food inside!!
I went this year too and am so happy I met you :)
Also I did a similar video yesterday and I have a vlog for anyone's to check out! ❤
I’ll have to check that out!
I wanna point out that they chose Las Vegas like theirs a ton of lps fans there. They need to choose a not so expensive spot
@@gayrurumon i think they shod change the spot, if people have to suffer in it they should change it
@@kathycollins3260 a venue change, sure.
Lps community has been ducked for a while now too. I hope this opens more eyes.
I hope everyone who went is doing alright now because just reading up on others' experiences I get the vibe it was mis-managed and dangerous & I think even when I can afford it I'll sit out on this con if it does happen again. Plus for some of my thoughts as an outsider looking in:
- Vegas is a strange location for an LPS-centric event. While there are adult community members, I can't think of much to do in vegas that isn't 21+ which would leave younger members (even if they're 18-20) with nothing to do after the con, not even accounting for the high prices in the region that could easily price out people who don't have the funds linger around after the fact. I agree a more family & economically friendly area would make more sense
- While it may be a regional thing, most of the conventions I've been to (even larger ones like Anime Boston) had panels for free by default so it comes off as odd & money grabby to paywall.
- I'm surprised that an event for a community that has a large neurodivergent demographic didn't have accommodations for things like noise issues or crowding based off other people's anecdotes. For example, some conventions have quiet rooms for guests to get away from the con space without leaving the venue. Having the only options to leave be 2 pay-walled spaces & 100 degree weather is dangerous & irresponsible
- Reselling lost items is just insanely scummy... That alone puts me off from considering going if I have the feeling forgetting something one year would have it not returned & sold off the next.
I guess I don't have much of a horse in this race since I didn't go, but I'm just baffled
I will never go to lpscon now
I read everyones story's and the staff is absolutely sick.
Why did the water bottles cost money??? Like hellooo everyone is standing in the heat if someone faints its on them
Fr, I feel like the con should've not way better, I won't and will not support them ever again esp with their apology from what I've heard
For the second and third story thing, ive only heard that this year standard tickets were allowed to go on other floors for the first time this year!!!! I personally think that was a good idea!!
Dude, this situation has gotten so out of hand. It's quite sad😔😔
I know. I feel bad for them and all the backlash they’ve been getting. But it seems like there were a lot of stories that people have been scared to bring to light until recently.
@SugarDiamond yea! I've seen so many stories from this con, and about the previous cons
I really want to go to Vegas for LPS con next year since I live in AZ so that would be the nearest place to me 😭
where can i get the flower glasses and the table switching is horrible with me not being good at mobility and having arthritis the table swaping would be a nightmare for me even the crowded place....i am someone who cant move fast and can not get up fast and is slow i couldnt do it....and the Goodie bags sound horrible all of it does not sound like a fun or amazing time...
was there last year, i remember when someone else who attended had their hotel shot up after lpscon since its in las vegas
omg the venue this year is so tiny compared to last yesr
the goodie bags is so sad 😟 last year i remember they gave more old lps,
For the issues with crowding and no shade while waiting in line for food, this is pretty normal for me
I go to conventions at least one weekend a month, as my family and I get all our money from them. Coming up we will have shows each weekend, most of which we travel states away for
We’ve had shows where we come home VERY late at night, pack the next morning, and leave for the next show a day later
And from all those shows I’ve gone to, while the show was crowded it’s not that bad compared to some I’ve done. Honestly, that show seems like it was right around how crowded the average ComicCon we do. And I don’t think I’ve really ever seen food trucks have umbrellas for shade, as much as I wish they would
Schedule errors from cons SUCK. I’ve had a few that have had some
(Will be editing this as I listen to the video to react to different points)
Imagine my parents driving 28 hours to go to Las vegas and we have the worst time ever. (I didn't go to lps con, I live in Indiana so you should assume it would take 28 hours.)
If the glasses keep falling off the lps figure, you could try to use a small sticky dot or tape to keep them on.
Good video too! I never knew LPS had a thriving fandom like this! I still wish I had my LPS toys 😅.
Thx for being truthful and tell use girly ❤
I REALLY HOPE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE, im not aloud to go to the con because its like you said "Its not a really family friendly place"
LPSCon? More like LPS-Can't! Dodged that one like a pro.
Yea I went as a content creator and it was my first time with my mom but it was confusing but fun 😊
I'm just mainly upset about the dragons, i wish i could have bought them or something.
Not everybody is human. I am a cat and I agree with you. I love.
I almost whent but am glad i did not, i have anxiety and i think that would really stress me out
it in a way reminds me of the latest disaster of twitchcon, it wasnt NOWHERE CLOSE TO BEING THAT BAD thankfully, people didnt have to go to the hospital or get misgendered or fainted probably and all the other stuff that happened there, but since twitchcon is a huge company and this is an event made mostly by one person i belive? its nowhere close to that level of bad LOL. I do hope she learns from her mistakes and think things through the next time theres an lpscon, im sure that the whole thing mustve been very stressful for her
I made videos showing what ppl had to say I tried to get everyone’s comments and posts as much as possible
It’s really sad they did all of that and that apparently the father of the ceo also scammed the government as well so it really didn’t help her cause
I didn’t go because I knew asap that venue would be way too small for 1k+, I think a location change would be PERFECT
i hope i'm able to go to an lpscon in the future! and hopefully it's better than what people have been saying about this one.
Just the head in the goodie bag. Wow
xD yeah.
So we paied a bunch of extra money for 2 lps and 1.5 panels
When we expected to be able to go to a few panels.
I like your lps cat and i hope you had fun❤🎂🎊
No cuz the airport security style line would have helped SO MUCH
wow im so glad i cut my connection to the fandom i used to be a supplier and vendor for WC LPScon and the owner...treated me like shit! i could say so many things about how greedy they are, im just glad that i got out when i did and that she basically just stopped talking to me when she didnt need me anymore. this sounds like an absolute disaster as if the last one i attended wasnt enough of one! the way they treated vendors in general and how they kept track of sales was VERY shady and i cant imagine how messy it was with someones pet getting stolen and sold. nana did NOT know what she was doing, she never has, its embarassing. not gonna comment about everything as i wasnt there but it sounds awfullll
i totally would have been willing to give out goodie bags with actual LPS free of charge just like i did a lot of other things for them for free but you cant force help on someone....shame
Sadly I didn’t get to go to LPs con I do wish I could have met you sugar diamond 💎 ❤
since it was my first time going i enjoyed it.. so…. yeah i had nothin to compare expect no free drinks and small space
I'm from puerto rico and am making a lps channel I wish i was able to go to lps con
2019 was a blast 🤘
i havent been engaged in the lps community in almost 10 years, and seeing this on my recommended was shocking lol
Most cons are in Cali anyway. I personally haven’t been able to attend because it’s in Vegas. It’s too bad this happened but LPSCon as a whole has always seemed a bit shady to me.
my dream has been to go to lpscon ever since i was a little kid and i hope to go to it after i graduate, and i wanted to ask how the entire process works and what you do there, tysm!
I really wanted to go this year, but i couldnt. Kinda sad now
Also, hope they dont change the location because California is way too far
Hi sugar diamond I’m a huge fan I love your vids and I hope your okay
Thank you!! Am I’m totally fine! I made this video more on the behalf of people who had far worse experiences :)
I think a video playing during the queue is a really good idea!
