  • I wanted to make this video only in December but was obsessed with the idea all week. So here it is, 3 months early! In this video, I present more than 30 ways to use the monthly layout. My hope is that even if you're not a Hobonichi user, you would still be able to use some of these ideas in your planner system.

    Could you scan this page and upload it? So that we may better use it as a guide?

      Hi! Thanks for your interest and suggestion =) Unfortunately, I think scanning and making the page available would violate Hobonichi's intellectual property rights... Maybe you can pause the video and kind of copy the layout to a dotgrid/grid notebook? It would not be exact because Hobonichi uses a 3.7mm grid but the usual dotgrid or grid notebooks are 5mm. But it'd still let you get a sense of how to use the layout =)

    Wow, I mean this video is already a few years old, but man, I needed this! I've been struggling with my monthly view and yearly view (I see you have a video on that too, will watch that right now haha!) for as long as I've been using Hobonichi's (Techo and Day free A6 and A5), and this gives me so many ideas! I Think I will combine a few of these ideas. The highlighted subject would be great!
    Also, I see your last video is from a year ago, I subbed and hope you will upload something soon. In the meanwhile I will watch your old video's!

    I am brand new to Hobonichi and was looking for some inspiration that was functional and I am super happy to discover your channel a couple of days back. I don’t think I have come across any channel that is as concise, precise and clear as you.
    I really hope you are doing well and that you start posting once more :)

    This video was cool! ^^ I actually started to play with the idea to revamp my monthly memories page while watching - I’m not too consistent with filling them, but I love to flip back and see the memories, so maybe a new form would help me to stay motivated and keep it up-to-date. I really like the six word memories idea! Hmm. ^^ I absolutely support the idea of more videos like this, thank you for sharing, and also, it’s amazing to hear your voice after following you on instagram for so long! ;)

    I cam across your video as I have been contemplating purchasing one of the various Hobo planners as I am looking for ways to organize my life a little more. Currently, I'm using a TN for more artistic journaling (very much into stickers and such), but wanted to have a more structured planner for bills, reminders, to-do's, etc. This video gives me some inspiration on what I could track/record in a monthly setting, so that I don't feel overwhelmed with a blank page. Thanks again for taking the time to visually showcase these ideas. I feel more confident that I can make a solid choice. :)

      Hi! Thanks so much for watching the video and for taking the time to comment! =) I'm so glad you found the video useful! Which Hobonichi planner are you planning to get? The Weeks sounds like it would be ideal for your situation!

    • @cookiekitty222
      @cookiekitty222 6 лет назад

      Yukiko Sakamura I really thought about starting with the Weeks as a great break into these planners since I am comfortable with that layout, but then I started wondering if the size would be too small. Personally, I think the Original or Cousin is too much for me to move into now. Also, I have not really had a chance to write on Tomoe river paper, so on a previous video, you gave a link to a website that could send me samples. I am awaiting those now. I’m hoping the paper is to my liking and then I think I will have all my questions answered. Thanks very much for the insight on Hobonichi and planners in general. I look forward to what you have in store! :)

      Thanks so much for watching. Glad to hear it was helpful =D Hm. I think you can try to ignore the dates and still use it! The monthly layout at the very least is just lots of boxes and you can use the boxes however you want! Like zentangling or doodling. I keep meaning to make the weekly layout video but things have been crazy at the moment, so I'll try to do that next month so you can have some more ideas on how to use your old Hobonichi. :)

    Another idea is to track mood, anxiety level, or any other symptoms of a mental illness. Also one could track medication changes and how they are feeling each day after. I often ask clients to do a daily tracking, even if it is using 😊😐🙁.
    A second idea is for tracking one’s menstrual cycle (ugh).

Thanks for the idea! =)

    • @yukikosakamura6498
      @yukikosakamura6498  6 лет назад

      Hi Jo Ann, that's an awesome suggestion! I might actually do that! =) But meanwhile, I'll just tell you what the planners are. (All links to each planner are included at the end of this comment.)
      The Hobonichi Original is an A6 size. It only has monthly and daily layouts, no weekly layouts. If you want a weekly layout, you will have to get the Weekly Supplement (available in the accessories section of the store). The Original is fully in Japanese. If you want an English version, you can get the Hobonichi Planner, which is also an A6 size but the quotes etc are in English. The layout also looks slightly different from the Original.
      The Hobonichi Cousin is an A5 size. It has monthly, daily, and weekly layouts. This is probably the one that you want. The Cousin is fully in Japanese. There is no English version of the Cousin.
      If you're getting the Hobonichi Original OR the Hobonichi Cousin, then you can choose between the full size or the Avec. The Avec comes in two books. You will have the Jan to Jun in one book and Jul to Dec in another book. The full size has all the months in a single book, which can be heavy for some people. There is no Avec for the Hobonichi Planner (i.e., the English version).
      Finally, the Hobonichi Weeks is a wallet size planner. It has monthly and weekly layouts only. I don't own one, but as I understand it, the Weeks is also fully in Japanese. There is no English version.
      Here are all the links to the individual planners. Let me know if you need more help!
