    Glad to see you back and hope your healing is going well. And thrilled to see that you are taking time for self-care, balance, and you have a team to empower you to do this.
    I think the split approach is the best tactic.
    It seems you have an offering really geared for transitioning teachers. They are used to accreditation and would likely benefit greatly from being able to use funding programs to partake in your programs. However, a secondary audience (which benefits transitioning teachers as well) would be the more portfolio project based offering.

    Hey Devlin! I'm currently in your bootcamp and had my first ID interview a couple of weeks ago. During the interview, the hiring manager recommended looking into an accredited ID program to gain a certification, as it would help employers understand the specific skills the program covers. While the bootcamp has been incredibly valuable in helping me build practical skills, I do feel that some areas could be expanded-like Learning theory, its practical application, and project management. Adding a bit more on these topics could make the bootcamp even more comprehensive and career-ready. Thanks so much for all you do, and I’m excited to see the future direction of the bootcamp!

    • @DevlinPeckYT
      @DevlinPeckYT  2 месяца назад

      Yes, for sure! That's the area we're building out the most when it comes to accreditation (essentially building out the "ID Project Lab" to learn the theory in a practical format, just like the Storyline Project Lab). Glad to hear that will be some demand for a more thorough certification program like this.
      And congrats on the interview! I am sure you will have many more to come :D

    LOL, I lost it when the video cut at 14:57! I can totally imagine you going on and on about your pet babies, haha! I can relate so much-I could talk forever about my furry ones too. Just the other day, my husband and I were visiting some friends, and they were going on and on about their human babies, showing us all their pictures. So my husband pulls out his phone and starts showing them pictures of our babies: Sweetie and Sir Pounce, talking about them exactly the same way! 😂 It was like the funniest parallel to their conversation, and we were all cracking up! You know, pet parents get it! 😅

    I agree that offering both options is a smart move. I was working as a corporate instructional designer nearly twenty years ago, and nearly completed an Instructional Design Certificate program that was based around designing for in-person training delivery (unfortunately, I moved to another country before I could complete the last class and ended up running out the clock on finishing the program). For me, a program that focuses heavily on developing technical skills and a portfolio sounds more appealing than a 9-month program. I also think that - based on what you said in a previous video about comprehension of learning theories being the primary in-demand skill for IDs in 2024, and your ability to advertise your program effectively to people changing careers by telling them what salaries, etc, they might expect as an ID after completing your program - you need to pursue the career school option. I believe choice in offerings will only help clients find the right fit for them.

    I think offering the program as accredited helps you compete with master’s programs. I’m completing a masters program in ID right now. I wouldn’t be doing it unless my company was reimbursing me.

      @DevlinPeckYT  2 месяца назад

      Yes, it opens up a lot more funding opportunities for students, so I'm hoping to get there in the long run :D. That's great that your company is reimbursing you though. Good stuff.

    Hey Devlin. Just wanted to say your content helped me get focus and regain hope. I was a classroom IT trainer for a long time and the opportunities for that plumetted after COVID. I'm all about industry accreditation. It helped me to leap ahead of others in the field numerous times in my career to I think the Peck Academy option would be awesome just so long as it stays agile and responsive to the real market requirement. Once you align with accreditation boards it can be hard to turn the titanic of their expectations to the rapidly changing market conditions. I think both options is awesome if your team is there to assist.

    Hi Devlin,
    I was wondering why you where no more at the front-end of your videos, but couldn't imagine why. But the team did it also quote well, though we also want to see you whenever possible 🙂. I am happy to see you back.
    ✅ Coming back to the point, let me first appreciate the fact that your videos literally made me become the high-level Leaning Experience Designer I am today. Though I had random knowledge and some practical experience, your content helped me to learn the most important things to consider, get organized and methodical in my tasks. And I sure it's the case many people.
    ✅ When you will get an institution issuing certificates, I am sure most of us who learned from you will come back to get the certificate.
    So I think you should better proceed with the process.
    Thank you again

    I am glad you are doing well dude! I was wondering what happened to you because I didn’t see you in the videos anymore (the other hosts are still great!)
    I was able to transition into the learning technology and LMS admin side of corporate LD because of you! Still want to get into LXD lol
    Anyway, I think you should have the academy for those who want a more formal certification process to become IDs and you as a business can legally advertise those graduation, job placement, and salary rates etc which is vital for marketing
    The upskilling portfolio projects that are not tied to a certification , more for those who are already in the LD space, or those who are from a different field and are okay with not getting a certification but can leverage their work experience should be more with your personal brand.
    Honestly, I been noticing companies are hiring more LMs admins and learning technology specialists than IDs recently. And if they are hiring IDs, they expect them to have strong LMS admin experience!
    The thing about LMSs, it’s hard to get access to industry standard ones like Cornerstone, Docebo, and Workday to practice because they are expensive. There is SCORMCloud which is free but the functionality is limited beyond loading and launching content

    Missed your voice! I've watched so many of your videos that I feel like I know you and have missed you 😂 I watched the video where you said you're stepping down shortly because you are feeling burnt out so I wasn't surprised to see the team instead. Glad you're recovering well. Thank you for all the great content that you have shared with us. I agree with the other comment that more AI content might be helpful. I am currently between ID and academia. If I decide to go with ID, I'd like to take your academy. If I decide not to go there, I still hope I can contribute to you in some way because I have learned tons of things from you 🤗

    Making the program official and accredited will open up opportunities for eligibility under federal funding programs, such as the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). If you would like further explanation, I'd be happy to assist (for Arizona). Thanks! ~Waleed

    Hi Devlin! Personally, I would love to participate in a program that helps build a solid portfolio. I'm currently a corporate ID but am beginning to look into freelancing (mainly for the reasons you've just mentioned, more flexibility for family/community time!).
