I was surprised to find that my typical day is a bit different than "Jesse"'s day! Most of my time is spent working in Articulate Storyline 360. I also spend time editing video in Camtasia, or creating assets in Adobe Illustrator. I'm often writing scripts in Google Docs (collaboratively, with my Course Owners), and recording the audio narration in our sound booth at the office, or in my closet at home (great acoustics!). Our intake meetings are usually pretty short, and our SME's/Course Owners know the content well enough that we can rely on them to provide us a Google Slides deck (usually) and a folder full of photos/images/diagrams, etc., to get us going. We take the content and "make it pretty", and try to make the learning effective. I spend almost no time researching the content, as I'm not a SME and do not have the time. I juggle up to 5 courses at a time, working on one while waiting for the proofing cycle to get it back to me. I've been doing this work for 6 years, after a long and diverse career, and this is by far my favorite job ever in the 37 years I've been with the company! :)

That last one is like a two-column AV (audio/video) script that we use in video production. I come from a filmmaking and animation background, so our storyboards are very similar to comic strips -- taking the script and visualizing it without words. It's giving the camera, crew, animator, or editor a visual to work from. I see how this can be similar in an instructional design context.
