Wow ! Nobody would do tartiflette in France if it was so expensive. 12 euros is the price for a very good bottle of wine... to drink. We would never cook with a 12 euros bottle (but the standards we have for the same price are probably different than yours in Québec). The cheese is a bit expensive here too but you've got it around 5-10 euros.
Wine and cheese are more expensive in Québec but this is not a 12 euro bottle. It's 12 canadian dollars which is approximatly 8 euros. And it is a littre so for 750ml its value is like 6 euros. His father used reblochon which is very expensive here since it is imported and an appelation d'origine controllée. In the video of his father he says that empereur cheese is 10$. I am not sure why in this vid its 22$ but I saw it myself for 13.79$ which would be like 9 euros. Food in Québec is quite expensive but compared to his father version (whit the classic reblochon) it is a good budget. And I liked how the bacon was more crispy in this vid lol, i would try it that way.
Cru du Champlain would also be a perfectly acceptable and less costly substitute for Reblochon. I'd also spend a few extra dollars on a bottle of Apremont or Crépy.
Faut bien payer le transport ^^ Good video! Like your father. i hope you have same success 😉
FINALLY !!! Tartiflette recipe in English.
=) Ty Chef JP !
🤣if they looked like trump, you messed up! 😂
Nice recipe 👍🏻 I’ve just made the same with crozets instead of potatoes : the famous croziflette 🤩
Looking forward to making some interesting great video
I finally found the translation of "turn and return"...

or clip re-flip 😅
Flip re-flip
Ta chaîne va cartonner, c’est sûr. Bon courage !
Yummy tartiflette 😋
Pécable ! I use shallots and precook the potatoes directly in the pan to give them a more crispy texture, but then the recipe is exactly the same
with all respect go to hell
@@noeblab2093 haha, any particular reason ?
I was reading the title in french.. Wich in slang mean the exact opposite x)
Ouaaaawwww ! 50 $ for a tartiflette cheese ! In France, we have it for a about 7-8 € per kilo. ..
Merci JP Dumas pour cette recette. 👍Bonne continuation à vous.
Nice idea making a cheaper recipe, for young people who doesn't have enough money. Well done!

love it.... remind me, me and my son lol
You forgot the 1st command of the french cuisine :
THOU SHALL NOT GIVE AWAY THE TARTIFLETTE RECIPE BECAUSE THE WORLD IS NOT READY
This meal look tasty !!
Trop bon la tartiflette :P

Do you have own restaurant?
Is it caribou's cheese, to be cheaper ?

I can't get the cheese traditionally used because I live in the USA. Is brie a good substitute?
I guess any sort of soft cheese, like Camembert or Brie, can work. It's the melt that counts!
yes if you like brie it works too
oh my , cheese and wine is so expensive there where you live. I have done this recipe for about 15 dollar in France ;(
ho shit i actually made a deluxe one rn x)
Bien!
In France I can make you a tartiflette for less than 15 euros :O
