In true souls fashion (i know it's not a souls game) prior to the battle i took enhanced tiger subduing, loong aura amplification and evil repelling, proc pluck of many, immobilized proc spirit, and then smacked the ever living crap out of him. He didn't even have a chance to do anything Fight was over in a minute flat.
i did exactly this, did 2 cycles of my clone and immobilize by spacing myself out after the first cycle ran out. Managed to kill him with an addition of a full heal potion.
Pro Tip! When he gets to about one third health left, he will know your moves and adjust. My charging 3 focus heavy thrust would be always dodged if I continued to hit him right when it charged. So I either started only doing 2 focus charge heavy if he was close enough, or do a 3 focus charge heavy but "only" let it loose when he got close and started his attack animation. Then it was to late for him to dodge, "turn into smoke thing he does" and it always hits. You got this!

This was very helpful. I noticed that when charging up focus points I waited until he walked up closer to me and began his attack animation. From what I noticed there’s 2 different attacks he will do. One is a quick strick that you will have to let go of the charge based off reaction. The second animation is the one you want. He will begin to charge an attack and blue lighting will begin to emit from him. Once I saw the light night I released my thrust level 3 and immediately dodged back a couple times. He will not attack you after that and will go back to his walking up to you path. I did this and it worked most times. Thanks for the help
When his health gets 50% he completely ignores thrust attack by flying up the moment you hit. But still this video helped a lot. This guy has enormous health bar or defense.
Came here to say this. This fight is literally ridiculous. 3 hours straight for me and I still can’t beat him with his bullshit dodge in phase 2. Takes forever to get him low then I die in the end so fun

dude I cheesed him SO BAD that I thought smt was wrong. critical chance and critical damage build, along with the best portions, the spirit that increases attack around it’s staff, plum of many and weavers needle. I couldn’t believe how his life was drained so fast.

Thank you for this tip . I was so close using smash stance numerous times I was stubborn and didn’t want to switch to thrust . But switching stances + spear really made a HUGE difference the distance and spacing is crazy just had to find that sweet spot . Thanks again fam
Man listen I’m convinced there’s a few different levels of this game being sold I have never seen so many bosses lack the aggression and over kill mentality than what I’m facing compared to these so called walk through videos I been watching since the game was released……shit doesn’t add up

This definitely helped for me be patient in the beginning en use thrust stand. At one point he will block your thrust stand attack then use weavers needle. Use your pluck of many hit him as much as you can en then finish it of with your transformation. I used ebon flow. And if he goes flying use youre cloud step.
For those who are having some difficulty, follow these steps: 1 - Attack using the method shown in the video, 2 - Wait for his attack, 3 - Attack again with the same method. You can repeat this over and over again. Hope this helps you guys!

Tips: When charging, try to avoid any movement. Stay where you stand because it will trigger him to attack you. Wait until he steps towards you. Good luck
For phase 1 your strategy is the best but for the second 1 I had to change it slightly. I saved red tides for when the bastard started flying... Then I used the spell binder to enhance attack as mana was basically useless for me... And finally I got good hahaha I had to memorize all his last movements
Just a tip while you’re charging you can cancel the charge by dodging at the same time and makes it sm easier. Semi difficult on console but very doable
Your guide helps me through phase 1, but phase 2 he just dodges the thrust heavy attacks. I just change back to smash stand and beat him with full spell (after 2 hours). After then I realise you releasing heavy attack right at the moment he start to attack. Gonna try you way again in NG+.
i love how yours doesn't even bother to perfectly dodge your heavy thrusts in phase 2, he's dodged mine 3 in a row the asshole. besides that, your guide is absolutely the best strategy, i managed to get about 5% life, but couldn't quite close it. will keep going. 20 attempts in.

depends on distance. run away as far as possible after you dodge and wait for him. you get it.
It's all about distance for sure... Just like the very first boss you fought it you stay away he doesn't aggro you as much
If you ran too far he will you electric dash come to you and it hard to avoid, so have to a safe distant so he dont use eletric dash so often

Same for me. This strategy only works for half the fight. Phase 2 is just garbage. He avoids most charged attacks, and is immune to immobilize.

Hundred Eye is really easy if you use a combo of immobilize and cloud step
try spell binder for duskveil

Switch to smash with spellbinder you can find it in chapter 3 spellbinders oP but you can’t use any of your abilities. I hope this helps you.

You need thrust stance in order to poke but then you just hold down the heavy attack Button 😃✌️
