@Tribe of Judah Israelite It was a rhetorical question. I enjoy both the bands and the majorettes. I love watching the stands match the music. It makes the band look better. Take ASU for instance, they’re band is terrible and people only watch them for the majorettes.

Difference is our trumpets played it while other sections were holding their own parts. That elementary written as ARRANGEMENTS JS-WHO played, full of ALL WHOLE CATCH YOUR BREATH NOTES. No runs at all in NO SECTIONS. And then we had featured TBONE SOLO @4:31 mark..............GTFOH.

Dope battle by two heavyweights! That part at 1:37 takes JSU's arrangement over the top for me. Never heard anything like that from a band Before...Those tubas are RIDICULOUS. I liked Southern too and I noticed some nice power from their tubas at the end. Nicely done by both bands.

JSU has the better arrangement, SU wasn’t bad they should of just kept it in the band room until it was ready cause it didn’t sound ready at all .. it was just loud that’s really it .. JSU gave me the feel of the song. Just because an band is louder doesn’t make it better 💀

Sonic Boom took no prisoners! Jukebox was good, but they can’t fade JSU’s playing & arrangement. JSU playing was so crisp! That transition/ascension... Good Lawd! Two heavyweights entered, but the Sonic Boom got ‘em all shaking. They shook.

Im ftom the misipi delta... And i love J.S.U.... Dont get me wrong... SONIC BOOM IS WHERE MY LOVE SHLD BE.... But gatdammit SOUTHERN IS WHERE MY HEART IS AT and they played the shit outta'dis.... What made the big difference was the 1/8th notes added to the tuba line and the upper brass and lower brass on top of the higher register notes at the end at the crescendo....

The Sonic Boom presented a solid, clean, intense, and dramatic arrangement... You could tell the song right off, there was a solid blend throughout; the passion clearly resonated.. Now SU's arrangement was loud at the end, however just being loud doesn't cut it anymore; plus they were flat majority of the song... SU sounded like loud fuss... Today's viewing audience is much more savvy now, they desire an experience, not just a comglumate of loudness.
I'm SU forever but Sonic Boom took this one.

Ok... First let me start by saying I'm a Baton Rouge native and I ride with the Jukebox all day until the wheels fall...second, so I went listen to the original song before I clicked on the clip just to make sure I have a clear understanding of what I'm listening to...after I clicked on the clip to hear both bands play it I went back and listen to the original song again... ALRIGHT so SU has a creative arrangement it's not a bad at all just about everything in the song is in SU arrangement but the problem is they didn't play it very clean concerning the sound ... With JSU they were very clean & clear and that one particular run/breakdown sets the arrangement apart from SU making it better.... SU and JSU have been comparing arrangements with each other for decades so this is nothing new.. some years SU win, some years JSU win...In my humble opinion Jackson deserves the WIN on this one...
