Define "claim back his throne", if it means taking back #1 then it's unlikely. He just doesn't have the motivation for it anymore. After holding #1 longer than any player in history, it's clear that #1 doesn't mean anything to him anymore. But that doesn't mean he can't "claim back his throne" in some other way. If he keeps playing, he will likely set some really impressive or unique scores to show once again why he is known as the greatest of all time.
