When the music video for this song came out back in 2019, it was right after we came back from our Church Youth Camp. I loved the video and song so much! Took me back to being a kid in Sunday School with the felt wall type art. The song gave me so much excitement, yet little did I know that 2019 would be the year that would break me down.
I went through a break up that placed me in a position of no longer being able to even trust myself. I had a back injury that became so bad, that there would be morning's I wake up with tears in my eyes because of the pain. After my bestfriend committed suicide, I was broken down to nothing.... the "rainbow faded".
I lost my wonder for life... the creative passion and drive inside of me fell apart.... existence and meaning became subjective, and my faith became dim.
GOD felt so distant... it was a dark season... I even stepped away from my ministry...
The lyrics of this song became a confession and a conviction:
"Remember what it felt like to believe?
Remember running wild and living free?
Remember when the magic was a mystery?"
I remember listening to those words one night in September of 2019 and breaking down. The prayer I cried out that night felt like the most truth I've ever had come out of my mouth.
I played this song again and when it came to the lyrics :
"I see a rainbow off in a distant sky
You set a table, I need to taste again
Savor and tremble, take me to where you are
Burn in me!"
I repented and surrendered it all to the FATHER, and my pursuit for CHRIST has never been as zealous as it is now!
I truly desire to experience absolute and true zeal for GOD. And this album, ZEAL, has lead my words and prayers in confession and declaration!
I daily hear Chad's chant "HEY! Come we're casting away!"
And I declare along:
"Don't look back now! Don't you look down! Glory! Courage!
Come and see the star ahead. Come and see the broken fed.
Citizens and saints of God - Holy, righteous, ratchet squad!"
Kings K, thank you for your obedience to GOD with your gifts.

i randomly decided to listen to their music one day and instantl fell in love. people kept mentioning the name so i just looked them up online and then i looked up . in weeks after looking them up found their tour saw them and in 2019 zeal tour in concert -out of all the bands i saw in 2019. odesza 21 pilots amberun the struts. kings had more conection with their audience we all were one. I love you kings!

This song has meant SO MUCH to me for the past 2 years.. I've screamed, and cried, and laughed listening to each part. I love part 1, I'm so thankful for the beauty and depth in part 2, and part 3... I mean, come on.. gives me the greatest hope on the darkest days!
