The second he had to leave because of that vet having a breakdown I knew it was coming had "American sniper/Chris Kyle" vibes all over it. However for it to have gone down like it did, didn't see that coming.
I don't know what the director was thinking when he decided that Clay should die, it killed any interest I had in the series after that I didn't watch it anymore.
You know Thieriot has been involved with the show Fire Country, don’t you? Thieriot struggled to manage both shows due to the demanding workload of Fire Country. Thieriot not only stars in Fire Country but also serves as an executive producer and co-creator, inspired by his own experiences growing up in a firefighting community.
Point is he didn’t have much to do since he lost part of his leg. The show doesn’t focus much outside combat so he the character was useless. He could have just moved somewhere instead of dying like all the others
He deserved so much better, but this show really drives the darker side home. Life isn't fair like that, and it was almost poetic how "senseless" his death was. Especially after all the tug and pull from all the other times he almost died just to die by a wanna be cop. One of the very best characters on the show who was really skilled and dealt with an almost never ending onslaught of challenges that continued to break his ego down. It was fitting really. He died so another could "live". One minute you're here, the next you're gone. Trying to make sense of that, you can't. Like Jason said "after everything he went through, this one's just f'n mean."
I know that’s what makes him cool. Only difference is Sonny is a little more reckless at times. Unlike Rip who thinks before doing something stupid even at times whether it’s anyone from the ranch like Jimmy for instance. He’ll just set them straight.
OMFG why the fuck did they have to kill of Clay for? Sure the actor is leaving but couldn't he just leave with Stella, his son and have his happy ending? That way the actor could come back as a series regular or guest star it won't be the same without him at all. It's crazy how he goes through all of those crazy near death experiences protecting his country, survives losing his leg in war and he gets killed by some punk trigger happy security guard. You're supposed to give a warning before you shoot bloody wanker this ruins the show for me man. I absolutely loved Clay no need to kill him off.
No different than if he stopped someone getting robbed and was shot. Life is really effed up like that. Why not die in such an unfair way? this show continues to drive home this narrative that they only matter until they can no longer serve a function, then they're tossed aside. I may be wrong here, but there has been a tremendous amount of humanity behind this show and something as senseless as Clay's death is as unnecessarily unexpected like Alana's. These kinds of tragedies happen all the time all around us and reminds us that we can be gone in an instant and the ones left behind are left reeling in tragedy.
@@DJMakcim Yeah I know you don't have to remind me,Clay dying like that just sends a wrong message the man served and protected his country he should've had his happy ending.
