      It was realistic, considering the prevalence of firearms in the USA, im not surprised he got capped while holding one probably owned legally but doesnt matter in the end.

      @Paddington look, I don't argue with it. But this is a tv show, and the showrunners claimed to want to give Clay's death, meaning that something good comes out of it. But nothing good came out of it. Yes, he stopped the guy from taking his own life, but the guy's ran. He's even more traumatized now, and the guilt is even more pronounced. I'm guessing nothing, and no one will stop him from killing himself now that life has proven that it's just out to get him for real. So maybe if that story ends somewhat better, maybe it's a fitting ending to a character, but if not, it was just an awful and tragic send off to a man who was no longer a soldier and was planning to leave with his wife and baby for a better future. (Sorry for the long reply.)

    I didn't watch too many TVs but this is probably one of the best scripted death/exits for any character I have ever seen. It's unexpected while being completely reasonable and foreshadowed. He died doing an honorable thing, which responds to what has been haunting him since Swaney's death and his incapacitation. Yes none of us want him to die that way and it's truly a shame, but that's what such a realistic show like this should strive to deliver, and the creators pulled this off brilliantly. Clay, as a character, is completed.
    Unlike Full Metal, whose death was nowhere as impactful, Clay's journey to death is shown as the consequence of many issues in many aspects combined: Clay's struggle with self-esteem and incapacitation, he and Stella's trust issue, Jason's TBI and stubbornness to remain leader, Bravo's cohesion issues, social support for vets, the US's geopolitical policy, endless wars, and even gun control. The creators deserve credit for granting his inevitable exit such immense weight and deep messages.

      Non sono d'accordo, ho visto tutte le stagioni, ma non credo che Clay meritasse una morte del genere, si ha fatto un bel gesto nel togliere la pistola ma forse meritava così banale..... sono convinto che il personaggio poteva esprimere molto altro nella serie.

      No kidding I know the actor was going to move on to something like fire country. That is if season two ever shows up thanks to the stupid strike. But I feel like they didn’t need to kill him off like that. All they had to do was simply have him go with his wife to whatever they were planning to go do. Instead, they just killed him off like yeah we don’t want you coming back so we’re gonna kill you off nice working with you. I felt like Randy marsh from World of Warcraft where he reacts to his character getting killed by that guy who goes around randomly murdering every single World of Warcraft character.

      @sieusaopolo10 Год назад +2

      if he was a rookie, i could understand, but it's look like he know how to do his job and this is big mistake, his job is to be securing the area and neutralizing the suspect, not killing the suspect. In the clip, you can see Clay is slowly turn his back and put the gun and what did the security guard do? he just shot clay for no reason. This only happen on 2 scenarios, 1. the security guard is a rookie, he clearly don't know what do to do and don't understand the protocol and he panicked so he triggered his gun; or 2. he was an idiot and he tried to get sued by the victim's family and be arrested

I wasn't a frog man or a team guy but I was a ranger and losing someone who is like your brother, knowing he's been to the meat grinder multiple times, and had a family at home, destroyed me watching this scene. Brought back old memories. I think the show did take a page out of Chris Kyle's death. A Seal who dies finding purpose in helping veterans struggling with PTSD. Clay was my favorite character next to Ray. I have seen people and myself break down like Sonny. They did Clay wrong.

    I wonder if the writers low key hate Max cus EVERYTHING happened to Clay! His character more than anyone deserved good things and a happy frickin ending! It just shows the writers don’t care about the character or the fans. I mean, a lot of us came for David but stayed for Max!

      Max had a new show (Cal Fire) that just came out. So he had to step away from SEAL Team to fully focus on his new show. I hate that this is how they wrote him off, but they didn't have much of a choice other than to write him off.

      @@chaisebowers9019 I get it. I love Fire Country, however they could’ve did Clay better. Let him die on the battlefield or better yet just let him move on with Stella. Why put his character (and us) through all of that to just kill him off senselessly. It seems spiteful. The way they killed him off doesn’t help anything or advance the story. It was for shock value and to just piss off the fans.

There could a better way to handle the situation, and there is no where in the world train their security guard to shoot 1st ask later😂, clearly unrealistic, because their job is not to kill, securing and protecting the property is what they are trained for

    Absolutely the WORST way to end his character arc. They intentionally RUINED his character because he was leaving for another show. All they had to do was let him leave with Stella , go live on a farm and have a good ending.... maybe have him back as a guest appearance as a blackwater contractor from time to time or join a CIA spook team for the odd appearance. His story with Stella was a great evolution of relationship and his growth as a person. To end it like this??? What a disgrace! AND they didnt even give him a funeral!!! This was a total slap in the face of Clay and a slap in the face of all the fans!!! The fans deserved better! Stella got like one scene crying about it and it as over. Whoever wrote this episode was a D*ck!
