I used to work for a major manufacturer of industrial, commercial, and aerospace Li-Ion cells. I have some video I took of the assembly line from A - Z if you'd like to see it.
Great vid.
Yes. I would like to see
Me too 😊
What a good subject to watch! Thank you so much Chris.
I loooove the packs i made with the molicell p45bs. Those cells are incredible! Awesome video chris.
Thank you for so much interesting overview.
Would be nice to see disassemling of Samsung 50S Li-On cell.
Hmmm, are you sure Auline are the OEM of the cell? I'm pretty sure they would be procured from another company.
Agreed, but without any labeling on the bare metal can of the cell, there isn't another way to identify it.
Very informative 👍🏻
Really cool and informative video. I would love to see those premium lipos under the scalpel aswell.
Interesting video Chris, Battery Mooch is a go to on all li-ion battery testing
i lova all these videos!
Fascinating
I think you forgot to link the original LiPo video like you said, I can’t find it in the description or anything, but it’s easy enough to find just thought I’d let you know
(And please let me know if I missed it obviously)
Thank you for doing this, so I didn't have to waste a cell doing it myself.
well done.... aka interesting
I have no problem paying extra for quality.
Good Golly Miss Molly!🤣..yep,they're excellent in my experience.
Fascinating stuff indeed! Thanks a bunch, Chris! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Excellent video, very informative! Question- I had a brand new Molicel P26 spontaneously begin to leak while in storage (3.7v). Any idea what would cause this to occur?
manufacturing defect
Thanks again Mr. Rosser, very informative - amazing teCh we get 2 play with 2 day, jaiii
Good weekenD y'all. Peace & Love (Slava Ukraini- Heroeim Slava)
Analytics!
Is this the one you soldered? If not, it would be interesting to see if the soldering did anything visible to the cell interior.
i like the auline construction better
it's somewhat similar to the 4680 with a short current path
it's just that little ribbon that connects the interposer to the terminal that's holding it back
Please test a INR21700-50S
Any possibility for 4s supernova motors????
Is a stronger cell as safe as a less powerful one?
😎👍🏽
I always used the Sony Murata 25 or 35a 18650 cells, they where always ranked best in the flashlight community. But they are nowadays ditching 18650 cells for 21700 cells.
The flashlight community mustn't have tested molicel cells.. The molicels have been the best performers for quite some time for both the P and M series cells.
@@ryanokeefe12Depends on usecase. The Sony US18650VTC6 3000mAh have 10409 wH at 5A vs Molicel INR18650-P28A 2800mAh has 9362wH at 5A. But we don't need 30A continuous discharge current.
@@ryanokeefe12 Depends on usecase. The Sony US18650VTC6 3000mAh have 10409 wH at 5A vs Molicel INR18650-P28A 2800mAh has 9362wH at 5A. Also we look at voltage sag characteristics and don't need 30A continuous discharge.
@@Truth12345 I think you mean mWh, not Wh.
You missed the part of my comment "both the P and M series cells".
The molicel M35A is a 3500mAh cell and handles the same current as the VTC6,
@@ryanokeefe12 Maybe, but like I said we all are going to 21700 cells, personally I use 26650, but I get why people pick 21700 cells over 18650. By the way Watt-hour is just another measure of a unit for energy.
Great video, who doesn't love lions?
They need to make a li-ion soft pack like lipos because the metal case adds a lot of weight
yea
but also rigidity and strength
some lipo manufacturers add aluminium plates on the outside to propect against damage in crashes
They do.. It's what's in your phone. They're called lithium-ion-polymer cells (sometimes called 'pouch lithium-ion').
It get's confusing because people often refer to them as 'lithium-polymer' cells but they are different (mainly the electrolyte).
They're far more expensive and usually can't handle as much output current as the construction of the cylindrical cells allows for lower IR. The casing also works to dissipate heat.
@@ryanokeefe12 i should have said for quads. that would because thats what we are using these vaping batterys for also used for other things as well but not really suited to quad like a phone battery
I don´t like this idea. Safety first,
Why do the people avoid so hard using "joules" when talking about batteries? You know, _the_ standard unit of energy. (1J = 1 W * s)
We all just do the conversation in our heads... J,/K
for batteries everybody uses Wh or kWh. if you want J so bad just multiply by 3600
The real first post. Welcome to the jungle
the electrolyte smells kinda nice, right? sort of sweet i'd say
You beat me to it damn you lol
Weird, how your hands look sweatier both times it cuts away for opening the battery... Almost as if they're a BITCH to cut? ;-) Thanks for making the effort!
They might be ultrasonic welds.
ultrasonic welding is used on thermoplastic polymers
metal spot welding passes a current through the material between two electrodes which heats and fuses the metal together
I'm first thank you
it's not a race

Cutting open the BEST Li-ion cell in FPV: Molicell P45B
00:00
Goldline.
01:52
Goldline
06:23
Molly cell p 45 b
Goldline.
Molly Cell P45B".
"Molly Cell"
"Molly Cell"
