Thanks Graeme for this midweek delight. And thanks to Wayne too for the Filleting lesson. Really useful video for this time of year. Bring on the Cod ! Steve in Fife.
Best wishes for all of fishes worldwide. 🙏🏽 ❤️ Thanks for your contributions for humanity. And forgive if humans have ever done wrong to you, animals. 🙏🏽 🙏🏽 🙏🏽 God bless you. God loves u. 💕 👍🏼
I’m a Cornish lad living in nsw Australia, I’ve watched all your sea fishing adventures. I miss fishing the south coast of Cornwall. I’ve got a bowl in the fridge of Australian sand whiting. I harvested this morning. Filleted and scaled. But I would swap it for your your fresh cod any day.
I remember as a young lad, fellows bringing in cod as large as me off the Lincolnshire coast and holiday town piers such as Skegness. They literally had washing baskets filled with half metre long monsters. My dad tells me it was standard for the anglers to take the fish straight to the chippy back door for quids.
That looked beyond delicious! Imagine being like my dad, the man who dragged a bleary-eyed me as a wee lad, out of my bed, at ridiculous o'clock, in all seasons and all weathers, to share his absolute passion for all types of angling. But, alas, who can't stomach the taste of ANY fish or seafood!!! Not me, though, I cannot get enough of the stuff, and so much the better when it is me who caught or foraged it! Sorry dad, does it help if I eat it for you? 😇
what kind of conditions are good for cod this size?, i always drop baits off the kayak around Donegal hoping to pick up a beast like this but get swamped by whiting, or is it more the location that is important ?
Another awesome vid Graham and Mike, it's 11 p.m. here and damm you're making me hungry with that beautiful battered cod.. thank you for the upload and tight lines my friend. 🎣
Nice Fish . One of my first cod I ever caught was 18lb. I was 11 years old when i caught it then 5 years later landed a 30lb cod which still remains my PB. We don't tend to get many down here probably only ever caught about 12
Love this, every programme I`ve ever watched about batter describe the consistency as being that of single cream.Fine if you`re a cook and know what single cream looks like but for a layman`gloss paint`will do just fine, well done.
I like the catch and cook format. A mighty fish! The first thought I had was, a nice coating of herbs(dried basil is good) and a little bit of cayenne pepper, topped with a couple of very thin slices of tomato, then coated in breadcrumbs and into the oven with it. Your arteries will be delighted with you. 👍
Hi Graeme, fine cod indeed, nice bit of cooking also. I was wondering if you could maybe talk through some of the items that adorne the TA man cave ie pics, reels and trophies etc. Cheers and tight lines.
Greyham mate nomatter how many times I've watched your video can't help but like you cos you got great sense ov heumour, also yummy cod cooking ,hope you enjoyed bk then ,have u bin catching cod. , Pollack,?¿ 😊😊😊 no
Dang ! Graeme you made me Hungry for fish and chips lol We only get frozen cod in Canada in Ontario. .Sometimes I really miss the old country. Wheres the mushie peas???
Ya know i have caught many types of saltwater fish from all over the US. Sword, Marlin, Sail, Stripe Bass, Weakfish, Bluefish, Mako, Blackfish, Grouper, Dolphin, every type of Tuna, Bonefish, Wahoo, ect. But catching a big Cod has to be my favorite fish to catch. Yes their like catching a old boot but they look beautiful and eat the best :) I can't believe the strong currents you guys get in the UK i wonder why ? We get 4 tides a 24 hr. cycle 2 floods n 2 slacks but, not as strong as what is shown on your video.............
How can I practice releasing a fish? I haven’t got the hang of it... I don’t want to be killing fish that I don’t need to and last time I released a fish It died. Hope it doesn’t sound stupid. I’d appreciate some advice.
