Okay, the whole thing was amazing but getting Abobo to throw the player up on the balcony where Willy is waiting was mind-blowing. First time I've seen that in 35 years. Would have never imagined that part of the scenery would be a real platform you could walk on, much less start hitting the final boss while he's still up there. This was a lot of fun

Yes definitely old school video game! One of my favorite video games! If I have my way with money I would buy the arcade game machine itself for just the Double Dragon by itself!

Some DD machines had 1 life, so you had to assure yourself a win by elbowing your way to the end. Other machines gave you 3 lives to start, so you could afford to be more cocky.

Wow, played it lots of times to the end but never seen the last boss fight owned like that ;-)
27 enemies fell or were dropped to their deaths ("boulder guy" at the end doesn't count, that's a glitch.) all bosses except first one were dropped, oddly the first boss put up the most resistance, taking 3 knife throws to defeat. what a strange game.

Wow this game I played a lot on the super nintendo, and this video version I never played, but the ending is pretty, right, Billy saving the girl, and she thanking him with a kiss and a hug, and the game is cool 😘🧡
This was the original Arcade. I was 12 when we played it. This guy made it look so easy. All those enemies in the holes or down the edge. 👊

Ya it's pretty terrible hah. It's even worse when you're playing with 2-players. It made my 2-player TAS look like crap
This arcade board had two 8-Bit CPUs, and that's where the slowdown comes from. if it had one CPU with a 16-Bit address bus then it would have been fine.

The real speedrun would be running to the right immediately at the start to catch the guys who kidnapped your girlfriend. Save yourself a lot of fighting.
Is there a reason you stopped at the end of level 1 instead of walking forwards? It seems like you could save a few seconds there instead of waiting for the screen to scroll.
Definitely can save time here by walking forward - and I did just that in my most recent run (it's a whole minute faster!): ruclips.net/video/u1f0qNBzlgo/видео.html
P.S. what appears to be stopping short in the shorter video I just linked is actually intentional. If I walk one pixel more to the right, it will cause a 2nd Roper to join the fight from the right

That elbow is mad damage. Once you earn it on the Nintendo version Abobos stand no chance.
I tried hanging at the bottom edge but I either fall off or I'm not close enough where the enemies I knock down fall off.
