@@retroGamingChannelcmg I never know there is attack like that, i only used bodycheck and jump swing attack. Every character have it?
@@G4nymedes yes, you just need to run, jump, then press downwards + attack. The character will do a plunging attack that deals a lot of damage.
She jump 10 feet into the air and plunge her sword right into the spines. it is hard not to die from that.

Winners dont use drugs they use jumping sword thrust attack :)
The high jump attack is most powerful attack, but it's hard to aim and land, which makes that double skeleton kill at 5:00 the most epic high jump attack I've seen

I have beaten golden axe a lot of times and never suspected the jumping sword attack was so devastating!
I remember this game being a lot harder then this. I guess I never thought to treat it more like a Mario game.

@@MarioSpiteri Naa, that would be cheating. A TAS play through is like a self playing piano, they have a sequence of key presses and the exact time they need to be pressed.
The tools used to make a TAS usually include the ability to go back and forward in time to make edits.
This means you can repeat sections until you get the exact result you want.
Tools also allow for inhuman precision, since you can dictate the inputs on exact frames.
For more information on TAS, I'd recommend looking up "dwangoAC" on RUclips. He does TAS stuff for a living.

Yeah, from what I remember, it was harder than this, enemies move and attack faster and I could never do that kind of jump attack. Even that magma magic, I could only do the dragon breath thingy.

that sounds super cheap but people didn't earn that much in Brasil, and Brazil went from hyperinflation to money that was actually worth something almost overnight so for a while there was this weird situation where some things things in brazil were super cheap compared to everywhere else.

Damn this brings back so many memories. I remember playing with my friends re-enacting the game play as the players and bad guys, even making some of the weapons. For hours we would play in the woods. Such a huge imagination us 80's kids had.
Great run, my mom had a boyfriend in the mid nineties who had this cabinet in his house. After a couple days practice, I played through with ax battler doing his special
strike to clear the game and got A+++, it took alot longer than 7 minutes. Seems it would have been much easier to do the tyrus jump lol.

@@peposo7 generally a tool assisted run lets you program every move the Player will make, this isn't a person sitting with a controller, this is a computer program preprogramed with all the actions.

Whhhhaaat...all my life... Forward, forward+attack...I THOUGHT that was THE supreme trick move that smashed all enemies, kinda Golden Axe's equivalent to the turning reverse elbow from Double Dragon... All these years I felt that jumping down+attack move was garbage and useless! On to the arcade!
Kinda like watching someone elbow their way through Double Dragon with just a handful of flying kicks.
Aye. I mastered the timing on the elbow technique, and won a bet with my friend that I could beat the game on one quarter. He was shocked that the game could be beaten so easily.
Learning to master a speed run is epic
This isn't really mastering a speedrun; the TAS in the title means tool-assisted speedrun. In other words, it's a program, not a person doing it.

So the tool assist on this was something to strengthen the jump attack right? It's not a one hit kill because I played this both in arcade and on console and there's no way. Also Tyrus Flare is considered the weaker hitting of the 3 characters so even if it is powerful hers would be weaker. Can you do this without the tool assist?
No.
This is the original rom, nothing were changed.
Tool assisted is all about savestates.

I played this game at the local arcade with my older brother back in the late 90's. Talk about nostalgia. Very impressive run! Didn't miss a beat.

What exactly is the story?
Death Adder is shown to be a snake able to call other snakes to form a human body. After his defeat, Death Adder perishes, putting an end to his reign of terror. The way Death Adder dies varies between versions. In the arcade, he is knocked on the floor and releases his axe, which falls on him.

A funny note about the Genesis version of this game. If you kill Death Adder with magic when he is already off the ground the games gets confused and counts that height as the ground. The result is that the axe looks like it sticks into the ground instead of Death Adder when it comes back down.

o tempo correto seria 6 e 34, pois começa a contar quando vc seleciona a personagem. mas foi uma boa partida. eu sem TAS consegui fechar em 6 e 28, conseguindo o WR. mas o jogo exige muita técnica e rapidez, nao é mole.

the mega drive/genesis version was extended, it had an extra level. presumably because sega realized they couldn't fob off people with a $40 game that only lasted 20 minutes

I like how the enemy look so intimidating in this original GA1. The sound and gameplay is good. Only needs a harder and longer mode. GA3 sucks and look like kiddy cartoon.
