Thanks Chris, really appreciate you taking the time to listen to the song and comment. Yeah I can definitely say that the guitar playing on this one was quite directly inspired by John hurts style, which is something I've been trying to master for a while now. And growing up in the UK, yeah it's safe to say I've been heavily influenced by Noel Gallagher's songwriting in one way or another! Thanks again, Chris !
Thanks Dominik! I'm using a Rode NTA1 as my mic, going into a Scarlett interface. The guitar is just going direct in too. As for effects, it's just the standard reverb included with garage band as well as some EQ and compression. Thanks again man appreciate your comment
@@steveolson1712 Cool we have the same mic 😎 Thanks for the info, it seems I need to learn to set the reverb right in Cubase, I'm still learning the whole process. All the best and keep them coming! ;)
@@dominikpokornyI'm a complete novice to this whole 'recording music properly' thing haha so if you have any tips you pick up along the way, please let me know!
@@steveolson1712 Haha I understand, same here 🙂 When I'm not intending to post a live recording, I love pre-recording and layering vocals and instruments and messing around with the panning. But of course that's a matter of preference. I also found out that a bit of EQ, compression and reverb helps, but I'm guessing that's nothing new for you ;) All the best on new recordings ✌
Love this. Mor originals please.
What a beautiful song. Please keep releasing originals!
Thanks, kind stranger
Great job Steve!!
Thank you Boutins!
Love it! I know there's nothing new under the sun but you are brining something very different - I like your original stuff - its fresh!
Thanks so much Sarah!
Pretty cool, Steve! You’ve got a wide range of influences. I think it sounds like John Hurt mixed with Oasis.
