How many degrees = combust? I have retrograde Mercury in Leo in 2nd at 11deg 7 min and Sun at 1 deg 38min.
Orb of combustion is 13 degrees for Mercury. Yours it at an edge. Will make a video on combustion soon

Most people feel ups and downs during Mercury retrograde, so it may not be so unusual to feel them
How about the notion that RX planets behave as an opposite sign? Like exalted RX acts as deb. And vice versa?

You have to keep trying with the balances and Nadi shodhan will also help
