Any of those tears by themselves could take up 6-9 months. Tearing all of THAT and recovering in the same time is crazy but I guess his situation was more dire.
I tore my ACL on my right knee in 2015 playing soccer. I was in the 8th grade. Now I'm 22, 1 year 6 months into powerlifting. My max for deadlift is 455 and 345 for squats. I don't notice anything wrong in deadlifts (I've pulled 455 conventional, 425 sumo), however, for squats it's just a lot of mental fear. I don't necessarily max out on squats due to my ACL tear fear and other fears as well like a quad tendon tear. So I just shoot for triples. In competition or mock meets, my jumps for squats are also very small, maybe 10 lbs. My last meet I did, 315, 330, 341. People tend to judge me for that, but it's just fear based on that experience. I'm just happy and grateful to do what I love. For those that have suffered a similar injury or going through it, it takes time but it gets better. Just be smart and safe.
