@@reeblesnarfle5443 I watched the documentary on Netflix (called True Stories). He seems like an intelligent kid with a talent for music who was overwhelmed with anxiety and the fast-paced lifestyle of touring. I wish he could've found a way to leave the industry and pursue his own happiness.

@serenity jade After Avicii's death, his family talked about his manager named Ash. Check out the article, but in short, basically his manager overworked Avicii (900 shows in 8 years), plus Avicii said he struggles to deal with all the fame because he's an introvert and just loves making music. So, his manager Ash definitely didn't pick the best course of career for Avicii, focusing more on money and concerts than producing music and Avicii's health (physical and mental) which put Avicii down the spiral of depression and anxiety.
I guess without Ash he would not have had his career but maybe he would have still had his life.

I'm big fan of Avicii.. great artist but he had health problem for years. Plus its more of an inspiration listening to this video now than heartbreaking.
tu4eva 007 it's heartbreaking because you can see how much he gave and how much more he could have given, and he passed at such a young age. The health problems he had were due to drug abuse from his hectic life, and he got into the industry when he was around 18-still young and impressionable. When he tried to slow down and change, it was too late. That all sounds heartbreaking to me, but of course I'm not trying to convince you of that, I'm just telling you my thoughts.
I agree but in those 10 years, he still lived more than the average person lives in general.. in terms of quality of life - money, fame etc sounds short but 10 years is a long time in the game.

Oh and my son is his twin. As they say we all have a twin somewhere in this world well, I found my son's twin....its crazy. I knew nothing of him until I saw the documentary and within 10-15 min in everyone looked at me and said," OMG, he looks like your son"... & I had already said it in my head a few seconds before they said it out loud. So, I got so emotional b/c I thought no, they don't look that much alike but I saw my son's twin. Its corny i know but I wanted to share that and I actually liked the documentary except his dying so, its hard for me to watch him so, I just listen.

Im not aloud to judge, but i just wna give you an idea of something. Tim killed himself.. ppl who kill themselves dont end up in heaven.. @@west1329 I know that taking your own life is one of the biggest sins there is, but I think that God wouldn't be so unfair to send a person who suffered so much to hell simply because he couldn't stand the suffering. not to mention that Tim never hurt anyone, he was a good person, kind, humble and among other things. as I said before, I don't think he would go to hell just because he couldn't resist the pressure I had on him (my opinion)

The first song I heard of his was "Wake me Up." I was just moving into my house for my senior year of college and my roomate next door, whom I haven't met yet and was Japan, which later became one of my best friends, was playing non-stop on loud. He introduced me to Avicii and we've gone to festivals together for the past 10 years now. I saw Calvin Harris and Kygo this past weekend at Life is Beautiful and they both played Avicii's music and it was just like I was transported 10 years back. It's crazy how fast time flies. But, listening to Avicii's music teleports me back to my college years and all those good times I had with my college friends. Thank you Avicii for the amazing music and all the friendships that spurred from them. And inspiration they give me!

I never knew him but his death still effects me. His music means a lot to me, and his memory lives on profoundly through it. It's sad now listening to his music about how life is fleeting and how you will be remembered, but he definitely practiced what he preached. His legacy will never be forgotten.
His music always brings memories of the good old days when I used to party every weekend and just be myself with friends. The most iconic is levels and Sillhoutte. According to his parents he was shy and disliked the publicity. It seems the fame just hit him fast.
People hate when they cant reach the same level of fame and success through hard work and dedication to their profession.

Talent doesnt necessary equate to success. Today, with the advancement of technology, music composing is made easier and cheap and available platform to easily distribute it. Everybody is now capable of making music and not that is special for some people and you can become successful even with out a record label. Electronic music producers are just using technology to their advantage and using festivals to make it in todays music where large record corporations are milking musicians of their art. The popularity of electronic music has exposed many people to it but it has changed the culture and values of which electronic music was founded.Whom is to blame? Not the fans or the producers but the large music corporations. They are marketing it wrongly,of course for making money not for the appreciation of the music. This is the state of the music industry. Some of the big Pop stars are sell outs who doesnt have talent but become successful because they are marketed well. There are talented people and shitty people in all works of the music industry so i just dont get it when people still bash dance music producers.
