Thats true. People only start hearing on someone and realize how sad and broken someone was, when he is dead. That's so horrible! We need to stop that, really! If someone calls for help - what itself is really really hard - please take it serious. Be there for the person and help as much as you can.
I agree...he told us in his documentary...im now found out im an i introvert person...it must been hard to do shows almost 365 days in almost 8 years when you are an introvert person..he have to drink to stand out to do all this shows. He was only 17 when all started. Dont think no artist have done so much shows. No doubt ...he love his fans. I think he became a moneymaking machine...All he want to do was to create music..wish he was his own and have his own studio and decide what and when...

As he says...if i go one like this im gonna die...it also must been hard to know that his shows give salary to his crew and manager when he fellt that he dont work it out no more....he was a deep person with a big heart who could do music who touch our souls. Here in Sweden his parents donate all money from his last album (postum) to people with suicedes thouhts...so now they can have open calls 24/7 for people in need. This documentary is literally proof how how people used and abused him psychologically to the point of where it lead to his death. They should be held partly responsible for it.
menamgamg exactly.. Ash didn’t care ONE bit, Ash basically murdered Tim, pushing him over the limits with shows, and ash knows that Tim had anxiety and depression issues. And in the letter that ash wrote after Tim died he was excusing himself like “Tim never told me how he was feeling.” There was multiple times that Tim told him how he felt and what did ash do? Nothing. Ash didn’t let him take a break or anything and the anxiety built up to the point where he quit and after that... who knows.. you’re very right though. They should be held responsible.

You can tell the guy asking him to do the phone interviews didn't give a shit. Tim (Avicii) clearly looked unwell and that guy did not care at all.
I think he was very drugged by meds there, but yes that guy should've been like "you are not going to do any interviews until you are 100% ready", how he did not see this is just disgusting and he just thinks about himself and not about Tim. It's so sad.

I feel so sorry for him. The amount of times he said he feels anxious makes me believe he didn’t want to do any of the shows because of how he was feeling. And the only reason he did was for others.

@@BluePill88 no he could not, he was under contract and pressured by his team, I watched his documentary he checked into the hospital and the doctors wanted him to stay but his team pressured him to check out, he was visibly not feeling well and no one seemed to care.
He made the choice to go on noone forced him. He simply didnt want to let down the thousands of people who paid to see him perform

yep bro, I have generalized anxiety disorder, and I put all my energy into coping with it every day. It's a real torture when someone forces you on a subject that triggers a high level of anxiety.

I remember the day he died. It was morning in Australia and I spent all that morning in tears listening to his music. "I can be the one" is still one of my all time favourite love songs that has resonated with me with every person I've loved since its release. It's absolutely heartbreaking that he was struggling and couldn't see a way out. His team clearly didn't care about his health since he was in the peak of his career. I'm now the same age as him when he died and you don't release how young it actually is until you reach that age. Celebrity deaths don't usually impact me but his made me feel so empty since his music is the music of my youth. Literally the first festival I ever went to he was the main headliner. RIP. I hope you're no longer in pain ❤❤❤

I so wish Tim had just flown home to Sweden and let his family take care of him. He needed the support of his family and medical professionals, no managers pushing him to do more. Tim already made millions and was set for life. There was no need for Tim to continue on a career path that made him suffer so. RIP Tim.

"Can't make mistakes" gets you eventually.
He dealt with it but he suffered from depression and anxiety and that made him end his life. I have a relative who did the same thing. It doesn´t have to do with pressure from people around you but being that famous doesn´t make it easier. Many people live with mental illness like depression and anxiety and it´s important to get knowledge about these things.
Retired in 2016 and DIED 20th April 2018. Who was pushing him for 2 years if he was retired. Bit of a red tinted specs comment.
@@KittySofttpaws The damage was already done by then. When he quit touring his body was already permanently damaged, he no longer had a gall-bladder and appendix and was becoming increasingly deaf (he did not use earplugs much at his shows). Not to mention his large amount of drug abuse in his touring days to cope, and the mental strain that over 300 shows a year can do to him. In 2015, everyone I know who has met him on his Sydney tour all said he looked like a meth addict. Once he hit the ice, his life-span was reduced to 5-7 years at the very most because the drug does worsen your brain chemistry and increase your chances of suicide. In the end, his management pushing him too hard and the effects of his drug use was what led him to end his life.
When you work in show biz, I can tell you the stories you learn about avicii are relatively worse than the documentary pans it out to be. But the industry pretty much knows he was pushed way too hard by his team, and paid the ultimate price for fame.
@supecar suspects The media actually doesn't have any control over his shows, only his manager Ash and booking agency does. Ash admitted in a conference in 2012 that Avicii did 300 shows in 2011, way above the average. But Ash was a manipulative and arrogant person IRL (people at Stereosonic Sydney worked with him), and being well aware that Tim had mental issues and struggled to say 'No', he could put as many gigs as possible in. When Avicii himself went up to the Wynn HQ to cancel his 2016 Vegas residency (which is so much money), the only pushback was from Ash.
If he severed ties with Ash's management team back in 2013 after the hospital incident, the outcome would've been VERY different for him.
I remember being happy hearing that he retired from live performing and touring. What made me feel disgusted was the so called fans that was angry about his choice. A real fan would have accepted that he was thinking of himself. 🌹🕯
Why didn’t his team just cancel all shows and let him take some time off, not like any of them were dying for money, just pure greed. This is why you must surround yourself with ppl who actually love you. These ppl should be ashamed. He says those dates gave him anxiety.. so you rattle off more dates, jeez

That's how it always goes. I played a game and to my guild i would pour my heart and soul out to them. I didn't want them to feel as i did. I quit because it felt worthless, became unappreciated. They kicked me because of stupid reasons. When i wanted to check everyone, i wasn't in their group.

To bad he never had the chance to reach old age. Being in my 60’s, you realize , looking back. How much one wants acceptance. He had the chance to say no more. Was listening to other folks who dictated his life. Listen to your own feeling, if it doesn’t feel right don’t do it. Even meaning leaving his stardom. In the end take care of YOU. True friends will be there, and love.
Excellent advice; most of the bad events that have taken place in my life were precipitated by a bad gut feeling that I either ignored or chose someone else's advice over.
I bet his gut instinct was to run as far away as he possibly could.
That being said, he killed himself after having retired, so it seems unlikely that management pushing him made much difference. It seems likely that the abuse of alcohol largely contributed to this sad outcome, although admittedly I haven't conducted a great deal of research into confirming this.
I speculate think his poor health, perfectionistic nature and lack of time in the limelight all culminated in an overwhelming sense of despair that led him to his final decision.

It breaks my heart to see the lack of support he received. He explicitly states that performing made him anxious and the thought of doing so many shows gave him anxiety yet he was pushed beyond his limit. So tragic 😢
Because all of them have no talent and they are depended on him for money because they cant do anything on their own.
But all his DJing was premixed, like most commercial DJ´s, there a lot more to this anxiety. I would have thought loneliness played a big part too. Being this type of DJ it´s imposible to have a relationship.

As a swede when i hear he speak with his native language i could easy hear how he was screaming for help. All these people around him should be helf accountable for his tragic death.

Tim's situation where he was nervous, so stressed and anxious during music work that's gone so hard and how the managers pushed him just because for money when he needed a break and support which led him to his suicide is terribly sad. On the other side, his theories and his open thoughts inspired me for some things in life how tough it can be even for things of what you've been through, when it's not what you would expect after and what you work so hard on.
I miss him so much. I miss being a kid and hearing him on the radio channel “Rix FM” and just vibing to it and scream “ITS AVICII” because he made my heart smile. May he rest in peace. His story breaks my heart

People who have no respect for your boundaries, and who repeatedly put their own agenda and needs above yours, should no longer have the privilege of being in your life. I remember listening to his songs on the bus to and from school, going on beach days, our school trips out of the country and on our way to soccer games. so many memories and so much nostalgia from his music.

Drizzy that doesn’t mean it’s not worth living, that just means there are obstacles in the way sometimes. Suicide is never the right option as it will allways allways leave people in a constant state of grief. It’s not a selfish act because ultimately nobody can be blamed for feeling suicidal but it’s by no means a clean way out. People who love you are left behind, and it will eat away at them.

"When you're up on stage you get a feeling of connecting with people and being accepted. This breaks my heart hearing this and after reading his biography (highly recommend) Tim didn't have to be "Avicii" to be accepted - if only he realized he already was accepted for who he was and didn't need to perform for hundreds of thousands to be accepted.
Those feelings of not being accepted (and not accepting himself), trying to please everyone, the pressure of expectations, his pre-existing anxety, depression and Disassociative Identity Disorder were made so much worse by his manager who took advantage of him and cared about money (Ash had NPD or was a sociopath IMO) but suddenly cared when his "asset's" health was in danger in 2015 and he couldn't perform. Signing contracts that were bad for him and basically turned him into a slave performing basically every other day at clubs around the world. Trying to get out of these deals would mean lawsuits and legal battles. By then him trying to numb the hell that his life had become with alcohol and drugs just made everything 100x worse for him.
So incredibly tragic we lost this musical genius, sensitive soul and good person. I'm still devasted nearly 4 years later. RIP Tim

Demand healthy boundaries for yourself. Biggest and best lesson I've learned. I literally worked myself into a terminal illness, paid my moms all bills for her for 30 years, and my own. Now that I face death, I got rid of all my fake friends, and demand healthy happy relationships or none at all. I've never been so happy and free.
And my mom never raised me. She was abusive. Somehow drawing boundaries, 3 months ago I told her stop your shit or you never see me again. Now, we get along so well. It's crazy.

Some were musician friends who were on his payroll others just wanted to live in his house in LA and party, and as he said in an interview from 2013 with GQ "he was helping them get laid". That's when he had a girlfriend, but they didn't. None stopped offering him alcohol, none cared about his opinions on anything other than music and partying.

I doubt the doctors would have recommended that he be discharged in order to go and perform: I suspect Tim's handlers had made it very clear to the doctors that he/they wanted to fulfilling his touring obligations.

On most videos and on Avicii's full documentary you can see 100% all the people around him didn't care about anything that was going on with him.
It was all about the money for them. Even his so called "friends".

Not completely accurate...
While the documentary shows such things, many close to him have said following his death that it doesn’t exactly represent or show what the reality of it all was.
Articles have been written that feature interviews from those around him that talk a lot more in depth about it all and some notable things i’d like to bring up from said articles were
- From the start his manager was very open and willing to work with Tim about his schedule, one of their first agreements even was that nothing that required his presence was allowed without his written consent
- His manager held two interventions with people from his family, team, and friends around him included to try to help him as his manager saw how unhealthy he was (it was said at this time he had been found out to be heavily addicted to painkillers and that he had taken up drinking again by his manager) and tried to cancel all upcoming tours to allow him to recover yet it was said that Avicii was the one who broke said agreements and scheduled his own shows
- His manager afterwards was said to have “eliminated” many around him who were using him and supplying his unhealthy addictions for monetary gains, but it only angered Tim more as he didn’t see said people as “toxic” or using him (which is understandable, when you’re thrown into that lifestyle from a young age with no real help along the way and left to figure it all out on your own it can lead to being very unguarded and open for people that just want to exploit you to make their way into your life and then convince you that you need them, and then as you have no other experience to call back from, you just go along with it all as you don’t know any better)
While there were those around him that were only there to leach off him, not EVERYONE was as most people tend to think and say, a majority of those around him actually were quite worried about him and had tried to help but could either only do so much or he had shut them down as he either didn’t feel like he needed said help and or he felt as if it would hinder him too much from being able to not only supply for those around him, but to please his fans.
