    I'm no Lonzo fan, but the media (and Lavar through the media) made Lonzo into this great rookie sensation. Now, the media is tearing him down. Looks like Lonzo is just trying to figure it all out.

      kanimo24 But the media didn't have to entertain him. I certainly understand why they would, but they basically helped Lavar build his brand. Stephen A., Skip, Cowherd, Chris Broussard...all those guys were hyping up Lonzo before he ever set foot in the NBA. Now, they're calling him a bust for not living up to the hype they helped build up.

      Lavar sacrificed Lonzo's natural development to promote their brand. Because he talked so much trash, his brand got a lot of exposure, but Lonzo is now suffering the consequences.

    My 2k player started out as a 65 and avg 8.ppg on 32% shooting, 1.1 apg and 5 rpg. It took me 2 days to realize I need 20 dollars from my paycheck to get my player on track. If my player can get out of it than Lonzo can get out if it

      Still how many players can you averaging 9 Points, 7 assists and 7 rebounds or higher? Russell Westbrook, LeBron, Ben Simmons. Scoring is the most important aspect of basketball and he's trash at it so obviously he's gonna look bad. Lonzo is special. Just give him time.

    I'm sorry SAS but 9 7 7 isn't a bust. Yeah his scoring percentage is shit but he stuffs the stat sheet offensively. in his first 20 games he has more triple doubles than most players who play for 10 years.

    • @DiAM0NDEagLe
      @DiAM0NDEagLe 7 лет назад +33

      Triple doubles are an overrated stat and is a terrible argument to support lonzo not being a bust. Lonzo plays I believe 33+ minutes a game and for those minutes plus the fact that he’s 6’6 with a 40 inch vertical and running the point he should be able to get triple doubles.

    • @dom3221
      @dom3221 7 лет назад +12

      He's not a bust, just not a good player. He's painfully average. He's averaging those numbers but is shooting horribly and lacks the proper aggression. You look at other rookies right now and a better half of them are putting up great numbers as well but the thing that separates them from Lonzo is that they look like they want it every night. Lonzo just plays like meh.

    • @RoseCurry5
      @RoseCurry5 7 лет назад +12

      Tripple doubles are not that impressive when they are not correlating with wins. Even Westbrook's TDs last year weren't that impressive to me when he was winning and so says others. And also 9/7/7 would be alright if his shooting percentages weren't garbage. He misses so many times that his inefficiency is just as bad as how well he passes. So possessions Might as well cancel each other out. If those were an efficient 9 points, I think there would definitely be less complaining and most would be more patient. But regardless, in no world should this ⬇⬇⬇

  • @lildagga2064

    Ok I get y’all don’t like Lonzo but come on now his shooting percentage is utterly garbage but he’s a top 30 defender and he’s averaging 9 points 7 rebounds and 7 assists that’s not a bust if you ask me now if your comparing his expectations to his stats then you have more than a solid reason to call him a bust but if your strictly looking at him as a rookie his stats are better than a dude in Memphis getting 100 million and if I recall Stephen A called BI a bust last year now look at him I’m just saying chill out with the bust comments because he’s not everyone’s path to greatness is different

    • @gigabytee
      @gigabytee 6 лет назад

      But Draymond actually wins, and contributes to those wins. Draymond Green is 100% better than Lonzo regardless of statistics. You can average 50/20/10 but if you don't win, it won't be as appreciated. Draymond can get a triple double every single night if he wanted to, but he knows his role.

    im tired of people like stephen a smith calling STeph Curry just a shooter and not a pure point guard... STeph Curry averaged 6 assists in his rookie year and Lonzo is averaging 7 assists this year.. Steph Curry is just as much of a point guard as Lonzo, even if shooting his still his best skillset..

    • @immag530
      @immag530 7 лет назад

      Currys real position is SG, its what he played in college....his first 2-3 years in the NBA, Golden State tried to use him as an SG but he was too small so they moved him to PG........hes a SG thats forced to play PG because of his size....he only racks up those 6 APG because the Warriors are so damn hard to defend

    • @usmanioa
      @usmanioa 7 лет назад

      immag530 You said: 'he only racks up those 6 APG because the Warriors are so damn hard to defend' ..
      Stop embarrassing yourself. You sound foolish.
      Curry is averaging 6.8 assists for his career, has the highest usage rate on his team and is clearly the primary ball handler for that team and has above average playmaking ability.. He averaged 9 assists in the Finals for God's sakes... On the depth chart, it states: Starting POINT GUARD: Stephen CUrry...
      Of course, Curry can play offball too and having Draymond and Iguodala as secondary ball handlers makes the offense less predictable and more dangerous.. Curry could bring up the ball every possession too like Lebron, Westbrook and CP3 but that defeats Kerr's team philosophy and the offense wouldn't be as lethal. Just because Curry has a different style than a traditional point guard does not mean he is not a point guard. That's like saying Cam Newton is more of a running back than a quarterback just because he runs more effectively than he passes..

    Finally someone was objective about Lonzo... Thank you Max. All people focus on is negatives, so what if he can't shoot? His shot will eventually fall, but how about all the other things he's doing? He's pushing the tempo, rebounding, defending, getting guys lots of shots... People seem to forget he's a rookie

  • @Bayareabob
    @Bayareabob 7 лет назад +19

    Lonzo can't score to save his life, but his overall game is nice. If he could improve that jumper and learn to score the ball decently he'll have a nice career as a backup PG for some good teams.

      Robert Berguer that is the weirdest thing because he makes like what 100 3pts a day when he was home in Chino Hills so i don't get it..Lavar said they did that all his life..unless he's lying

      he could be exaggerating, but that's beside the point. Making 100 3pts a day in your backyard isn't really gonna translate to successful shooting in the NBA. Especially with that broken jump shot form he's got.

      Phaze-1 Fab in college he was an average scorer. I don't watch college basketball and even I knew that. They knew what his game was when they got him. People not in the know, like yourself, just scream bust at first chance. Ingram was supposed to be the #1 scorer this season

      BTG First of all I nvr called him a bust. I said he's overhyped which isnt even a discussion. 2nd If he was average and everybody knew that, then he wouldn't have beeen the #2 overall pick. How stupid is that. You don't select a rookie #2 for being fucking average, you select them in hopes they can lead your franchise which is what the Lakers did because they got dooped by Lavar like the rest of Lonzo stans. Yall act like Lonzo not scoring is the only problem he has. He's doesn't play defense and he has no aggression. These are not the expectations the Lakers and everybody had for him to be playing like this Idc about college this is the NBA get your head out Lonzo's ass and watch the games bruh

    • @willthethrill6171

      Phaze-1 Fab He is ranked 29th in defensive consistency rating. 29 out of the 450 players in the NBA right now. Also, he was drafted that high to be a facilitator. Magic clearly said he wanted a pass first guard and not a score first. That’s one of the reasons he packaged Russell with Mozgov in the trade. Also, Lonzo has a double double and Ingram dropped 32 against GS and took them to overtime without Kuzma.

    • @vipersniper8247
      @vipersniper8247 7 лет назад +2

      Phaze-1 Fab I agree he’s over hyped but he’s got a lot on his shoulder and he doesn’t want to disappoint he’s never struggled like this before so it’s a learning process but when he figures it out he’s going to one hell of a player let’s not for get he’s 1 point 3 rebounds and 3 assists away from averaging a triple double
