Thank you! What a lovely man. So happy to see his amazing paintings. I also have always admired the work of "The Group of Seven".

Carl, I discovered your podcast recently and it’s been a welcome audio companion while I work in my studio! It’s been SO inspiring to hear about other artists, especially some like me who have a different full time job (for now!) and have a family. It also inspired me to try a plein air session in 40 degree Minnesota and it’ll definitely not be my last! Carl, thank you!

Great episode! I started my art journey in my late fifties, so I can relate to much of his experience.

Thank you for bringing Brian Buckrell to your podcasts. I love his work and just finished a course with Brian. He is an excellent teacher with a pragmatic approach based on very sound theory and principles. He does an excellent job of providing the foundation concepts but focuses on how to apply the concepts through exercises, demos and homework. He is wise, witty and so generous with his resources and experience. I highly recommend his workshops!

Just a favorite podcast, that's all! I agree about radio voice, when I listen to podcast or audiobooks quality of recording and voice of narrator matters a lot, if the voice is irritating I put a cross on that podcast lol
    Glad you are back.

I enjoyed this episode so much! As a side note, from what I can tell the appeal of acrylic gouache is that it dries matte and has that beautiful velvety look (and very easy to scan). I personally don’t use it but that is what I’ve heard from my friends who use it.
I’ve heard matte acrylic exists as well so…I guess there’s something for everyone! 😄
