I was thinking the same thing. The responsible thing to do would be to slow down and let the other driver be reckless somewhere else.
except the initial "recklessness" was to pull merge into his lane at a safe level. Then he acts like an asshole - a safe asshole, but still an asshole. Then the other driver acts a little reckless. Then he flies from one curb to another, cutting people off left and right, slamming breaks and gas, blocking the exit lane. But the other driver "tried to kill him"

This is the kind of behavior that leads to somebody getting shot in a traffic altercation. Chasing that person down with your car is wholly irresponsible and could've lead to other people's injury or death. What if she had a gun and shot your for following her aggressively. She might be able to argue fearing for her life cause if you watch the video they're both being aggressive.

To be honest, many of the dashcam drivers were actually just as much at fault as the other party. Roads are for everyone and backing off to let someone in instead of racing to be ‘first’ can avoid many of these incidents.
I especially loved the ‘responsible’ action of speeding up and overtaking in what appeared to be an emergency stopping lane.

I'll never understand why people race to be first when lanes are merging. Why does it matter, is that extra half a second really worth the stress?

Because both drivers assume that the other will accelerate slow thus slowing them down, so they want to get ahead. That requires pressing the gas. Just so happens that they both press the gas at once. But if I were to floor it to pass someone before a merge, and notice they floor it too, id just let off, what's the point if they will go fast ahead of you.

@@regent6680 I’d bet he sped up because he didn’t want to give up “his spot”. Tesla driver was perfectly fine and sped up because their lane was ending, had the truck driver backed off for 2 seconds rather than speed up then the whole incident would’ve been avoided.

@justanotherrandomperson180 I feel ya. BUT I live in Arizona and the drivers here are terrible and I see at least 2 or 3 incidents a day that almost cause an accident. I use my camera for potential legal purposes. So far it's come in handy twice.

2:00 - Cammer should be arrested for insurance fraud. He purposely moved *UP* to block the merging vehicle and forced the collision. If this is number 5 the state police need to be eyeballing every single claim this guy's made.

Some states have castle doctrine that applies to vehicles. If you attempt entry into another occupied vehicle the occupant has the right to use lethal force to defend against it. So attempting to smash a window, yank open a door, etc.. (you have to be inside the vehicle though, so someone trying to steal your purse by doing a smash and grab is not considered castle doctrine). I do not think that NY is one of those states. Castle Doctrine is a legal precept that says you do not have to retreat, nor find alternate means of defense before utilizing deadly force given those circumstances. So if a burglar kicks in your front door and you shoot him, you don't suffer any legal or civil liability.

I don't understand why these cammers feel the need to use their high beams after the person has clearly admitted and fixed their problem. 13:55 for example, the cammer honked at the car, they acknowledged that they were moving into the cammers lane and quickly moved back to their own lane before speeding up and properly moving to the left. That should've been the end of the clip but instead, the cammer just had to flash their high beams until the other driver gave them the reaction they wanted..

When I was about 12, my mom was driving through a roundabout. One guy cuts her off, when it was her right of way. She laid her horn, just as I saw red and blue flashing lights. We died laughing as we watched him get pulled over! 😂
