    Great video.
    I love Multi tools & have over 30 Leatherman's, Gerber's, Victorinox's, & a couple of SOG's, but this SOG PowerPint is my favorite.
    Small enough to be barely noticeable & a true EDC, but bigger than key-chain tools & is big enough to be actually usable & useful.
    It truly is a brilliant tool.

      I don't know I can give sogs multipliers another chance. I had an older poweraccess. The biggest one they had. Yeah I snapped the Compound leverage. Yes my pair is before they put the secondary plate on. But they said it was normal wear and tear and wouldn't help me out. Just gave me a discount code. Hmm normal wear and tear when your plier head snapped off the handles on one side. Yeah I don't see how

    While the description says "tool only" it does come with one each of a bi-metal ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI and HCS blade plus an adaptor plate for non-DeWalt blades. Wish I had known that before I bought the blade kit, but oh well. Since I already have a DeWalt drill, charger and batteries there was no need to buy more of those so this was a great deal.There is one other consideration. DeWalt does't sell the depth guide separately so you need to buy the three parts which make it up -- the N275350 block assy, the N275341 metal rod and the N278801 knob. Amazon does sell all three.

    Great little tool as an EDC in the urban environment with its relatively small and low profile straight edge blade. And more importantly it came with a pair of scissors and full size bit driver!

    Great video! I have had my PowerPint for a year now and it has come in handy to often.In my opinion this tool is not perfect but is damn near. The file, scissors and hook certainly need some revision. Never the less they some what function ok. I have modified my powerpint by grinding the top of bottle opener in to a flat head, turn the file tip in to a chisel and re profiled it and re-hardened it and sharpened the hook so it’s usable. Over all it’s a solid little companion.

    SOG does nice work, small to medium, imo. I adore the tools with their steam punk kind of look, the nice industrial feel, the weight of the tools tend to be substantial without feeling bulky. As time goes on and i learn more and more about these tools I begin to really appreciate Sog. The medium size has the bit hole and a separate bit driver... I like the redundency here... I can elect to use the nice locking philips, or I can drive their own bits, sockets, ratchets... you name it! I find myself reaching more and more for my SOG and it compliments kits that need a decent driver.

I’m a little salty re: it’s poor execution/cq and inasmuch I have modified mine in several ways and IMO it’s come out a better tool which I NOW like quite a bit. This tool could’ve been amazing out of the box had they (SOG) put more care into it’s off-shore manufacture, but nonetheless due to the poor quality of this one I’m not prone to purchasing any other SOG brand products. Such a good multitool and one which really fills a gap in the market. Since LM discontinued the Juice line they don't make any real mid-size mts unless you count the Skeletool, and tbh I'm not all that impressed by the tools on the Juice. Gerber's mid size offerings like the Balance or Crucial are pretty poor and have a very limited toolset. I'd have bought a Powerpint long ago were it not for the fact that I'm in the UK and can't really EDC it due to the locking blade. Instead my mid-size EDC multitool is the much maligned SOG Micro Toolclip, it has it's limitations but it wasn't expensive and together with a Vic Farmer X is perfect for outings on my mountain bike, the pliers are much more capable than those on the Squirt and other keychain multitools which aren't really up to quick roadside repairs. If I go out on a longer bike trip combining camping and bushcraft I'll take my LM Rebar as then I'm carrying a fixed blade like a Mora anyway, we are permitted to carry locking & fixed blades if we have a valid reason such as a hobby or outdoor pursuit, and I make sure they're buried deep in my camping gear.

    • @hvacbudget8600
      @hvacbudget8600  2 года назад +1

      I wish Gerber made a smaller version of the NXT similar to the PowerPint. I think priced right it could do well. Gerber does have a tendency to make very bulky tools. I would be interested if you find any UK legal tools similar to the PowerPint.

    • @simonh6371
      @simonh6371 2 года назад

      @@hvacbudget8600 Well I'm sure there are a few from the far East, I think there's a Nextool Flagship Pro with a non-locking blade. But not from the big 3 US multitool manufacturers (LM, SOG, Gerber), or Victorinox. Sadly there don't seem to be any German or other European manufacturers of multitools. Even if there were, there are different rules in every European country. For example in Germany you can carry a locking blade, but not if it's one-handed opening. So a Rebar or Supertool is fine, but not a Wave or Surge. You can carry a non-locking one-handed opening blade, so a UKPK is fine there, but curiously not the German Army issue Victorinox (one-handed Trekker, or Soldier with different scales) so I guess there military personnel have to ensure they don't carry them off-duty.
      In the Czech Republic you can walk around with a fixed blade or even machete or axe on your belt.
      In the UK when it comes to quality multitools - apart from keychain ones like Squirt, Dime etc - we are so limited, I can literally count them on the fingers of one hand: Rebar knifeless, Bond, MP600 knifeless, and SOG Micro Toolclip. I've been looking into it for 2 years. I own 2 of them, the MP600 and Micro Toolclip. Plus a LM Rebar standard, which I take camping. However I'm pretty sure that it's easy to mod the Powerpint as it can be opened with a torx driver and we can buy spare/replacement sog tools, not sure if the 3'' saw would fit but i bet the bottle opener/flathead would. Or I've seen on reddit that a guy here removed the lock on the blades, not sure how. It's tempting as the Powerpint can be had here for as little as £40 ($52), which is cheaper than a LM Squirt or Rev here.

    By the looks of your comments section i might be the only one who hates this multi tool. Ill start with my first thing i dont like about it. So the tools are on the out side but the unlock button is on the inside totally ok makes sense i think.... Not
    If you can make a video of geting the Phillips screwdriver the awe and what look to be the seatbelt cutter out without geting out the other tools to access these tool if you can do that good on you sir
    The scissors are blunt and painfull to use and dont even open that wide.
    Not sure why i have to open the multi tool to insert a bit to then close it even tho it has a magnet to keep it in place.
    The awe why would you make it that small but that wide.
    Now be honest when the hell did you use a bottel opener and tin opener on multitool once or twice maybe so to me waisted space.
    When has a Flat head screwdriver that small come in handy only for people who wear glasses and to do electrical work.... yh with a all metal multitool seems smart
    But the knife is good and the pliers are amazing but thats about it and for the price dont even get me started if you want somthing smal just get the dime
