Okay, I didn't get this at first, but then I just fiddled with one for a few minutes with a short bully rope. Now I'm going to make one doubled up. Awesome! Thank you.

Very simple and yet so very clever.

It’s a fantastic knot, having that captured eye is really useful

What kind of weight would this hold?

What would that be more useful than a normal prussick for?

I also would be pleased to know for which purpose is this knot?

It seems to me that he's saying he likes this better than a normal prusik made from a loop because you can tighten the double fishermans end onto the carabiner instead of having to girth hitch it on like you might do with a normal prusik loop.

@@AndrewMansvelt Now I unterstand. With the long loop you make the prusik on the rope and the other loop you fix on the carabiner. Thank you!

      Exactly! Glad I could help.

Interesting, thanks (as always!) Although, for technicality's sake, what is the name of this isn't the traditional one (w/o a cinching loop-end) called "sliding double fishermans'"? Furthermore, I've gotta say I'd like to see @Richard Mumford do break-testing on this *relative-to* a standard fisherman's-knot-prussik (the universal style where it's just 1 loop) because, while that captive/tight cinched-eye looks neat, I'm quite sure the fact that it cinches inherently means it's weaker than if you'd simply clipped a 'biner onto the ubiquitous/universal/standard fishermans'-knot-loop (and that's as-new, over time I bet this type of cinched setup would weaken way faster since the 'biner loading on it would always be on the same yarns, whereas when you clip a biner onto the generic/universal fisherman's-loop it's putting pressure on different parts all the time (hell I rotate mine, am sure you know what i mean about how, when used as prussiks, they "take the form" of the prussik, this leads to more-worn areas over time so I always 'rotate' mine a bit each usage to prevent that, which I don't think you could do w/ this although I am going to make some of these & try!)
Thanks as always for what you do, if I'm being honest I learned like 1/3rd, minimum, of my newbie-climbing-moves&techniques from your series last year when getting serious about climbing, keep it up man major MAJOR kudos to you ;D
(and am serious Re @Richard Mumford, I've got a lil list of things I'm in the middle of making in-hopes that he'll oblige me with breaking them for me, would love to compare these as well as comparing double-versus-triple fishermans' knots, I've got extra (brand-new) Mercury for doing so and will be ready to make that request very soon :) )
