Sadly GF,like Ella,is now a tourist ghetto. Ten years ago when I first visited GF there was a mix of tourist oriented stuff and shops for local people who lived there permanently.There was a mix of accomodation too with affordable g/houses rather than just expensive so called boutique hotels.Last time I was there,just before Covid hit,I thought it was a pity to see that mix destroyed -endless souvenir shops,restaurants often selling overpriced western food etc etc which cant all survive anyway,presumably its now too expensive for locals to live there so they have sold up or moved out. Tourists often end up destroying what attracts them to a place -the above is a good example.
