This is Image-Line finally admitting a traditional track-based workflow has some strengths that can't be ignored. I'm glad IL has listened. I'm starting to regret my recent Ableton Live purchase...
You can sell it... 🙂 IL never denied the advantages of linear DAWs, they had just hard times in how to integrate something like this into their current system which they of course don´t want to give up...
Another amazing addition would be to group mixer tracks easier for bussing channels. Making the grouped bus more visible and creating a similar effect to Ableton. This would have me coming bk to FL full time.
I used to disappoint at update news, and it's been quite some time I stopped checking updates. However, I'm amazed at this big update. Duplicating itself is a huge improvement, and I can see later it will allow us to group save just like Ableton soon. Thanks to you, too. I wouldn't have checked betas if I didn't find your videos. It is very fun checking out update details with your videos!
It was already teased by the dev who brought us the playlist improvements that he´s working on a save methods for tracks (and hopefully for groups as well) 🙂
I would love to get a temporary freeze playlist track option like in Ableton. Freezing in FL studio is still a big hastle, and you still have to do many steps to actually save CPU and it can get really cluttered when you go back and forth on multiple tracks over time.
While Ableton hasn´t got a proper freeze either... Plugins staying more or less online in the background and can cstill cause latency issues... I would prefer solutions the normal linear DAWs got like Cubase or the best imho is found in Reaper...
Yes, freezing is one of the features FL Studio still doesn't have, while all other popular DAWs do. But it definitely becomes more and more attractive for linear users like me. It's getting more and more comfortable to work with. Currently, the version 20.8 is not what I would call a seamless workflow, so, I am intrigued and waiting for the 20.9 release. And I can't even imagine what the version 21 is going to be!

Isn't it amazing that something so important to one type of user can be something so completly insignificant to another type of user that they would rarely use said feature, if ever? Thank you for explaining why the cloning tracks feature was SO important to some users. I could never really understand why they needed it so badly, but supported them regardless, since so many were in favour of this. To be completely honest, my workflow is such that I seriously doubt I will ever make use of this, even once it's included in the DAW. FL Studio is incredible. So many different types of users with completely different wants and needs to each other, No wonder why it's so difficult to satisfy all of them. But the FLS team are doing an incredible job of trying to.
Yes, but they took the FL Chans away. There were three mascots hidden in the about-pages of Harmor, Harmless and SliceX. I didn't like that (unmentioned) change - and I miss the ability to custom skin your whole UI, including piano roll and all native plugins. Besides that FL Studio is a joy to use and every update makes it even more worth while. Over the years (10) I upgraded all the way to the all-plugins-ultimate-bundle and I don't regret a thing. I adore every hour of my free time that I can spend with FL Studio.
I am really curious where the journey will take us! But if I look at i.e. the new plugins they came out lately they seem to aim at a really huge (and very high quality) ITB solution for everything music related! They get my vote! 🙂
20.9 will most likely be released before x-mas. It's a great minor version. My highlight 1) Sample accurate recording alignment and plug compensation 2) Multi-track operations and 3) Duplication. Can't wait to use it for real!

This is by far the coolest change I have seen so far! I am unbelievably excited!!! Thank goodness I have not switched to Logic all the way! Of course, I’m still interested in experimenting with other DAWs. However, FL is the greatest DAW out there and this update will make it unbeatable!

It depends... there are things which are incredible cumbersome to do in FLS... But there are things too which are done in a sec in FLS while taking ages to do the same in other DAWs if it is possible at all...
Only thing left is mixer workflow updates, like adding tracks or moving tracks to the beginning or reordering tracks, or in general a connection between the mixer slots and the playlist (as for order in which they appear)
7:03 "Dont use Betas for mission critical projects !" I always do that, because i cant wait for the new stuff to release, and i wouldnt be able to report all the bugs that you only find when using the beta all the time 😂
Yes you are right, but every other DAW lacks hundreds of interesting features FLS got... i.e. show me in any other DAW how to automate as many parameters you like with a single automation lane without any wonky workarounds... what??? It´s not possible??? Are you kidding me??? It´s already 2021!!!

In S1 it's not even possible with a macro workaround and I was talking about not using any workarounds as these options you´ve got in FLS on top... But other than you I don't want to diss any other product as they are all great... Some have their strength on one side other got them on the other side... and all have their weaknesses. That's no reason to jump in trying to make a product to ridicule a product because it´s got feature XYZ later than others... I don´t go into a Ableton related channel saying... Hihi, you don´t even got Automation clips...C´mon it´s 2021!
tbh original Clone Arrangement is more useful (usually) because ... try to making sense (manual deletion/rerouting) when you've made couple of duplicates (many unnecessary channels, tracks,etc.) It's welcome nontheless but i don't want to see many collab with tenths or 100+ channels only because they experimented. Make unique is fast as a shortcut and it keeps nonedited things so that you need less resources and don't have to manually replace them with the desired original if not happy in all arrangements
Now the only feature left that I am hoping for, is being able to drag and drop projects into other projets. Like in Ableton Live. This would make combining different projects soo much easier... No more rendering or copying project bones etc..
I have one really big issue. Can you explain what exactly is Plugin Delay Compensation PDC and how to aviod it in fl? I really couldn't find ANY useful video about this
Seltsam. In dieser Beta kann lediglich das interne Micro meines Laptops angesteuert werden. Ich habe keine Chance, mein Audio Interface anzusteuern und damit mit meinem Micro zu recorden. Kann hier tun, was ich will, ich kann es einfach nicht umswitchen.

If you come up with a better recording system (similar to Ableton) and improve the system of linking an instrument to the playlist and into the mixer, I will definitely buy it. It is a pain to have to create an instrument in the channel rack, link it manually in the mixer, and then link it in the playlist. And even then they don't get the same colors
1. What do you mean is better in Ableton against FLS? 2. The system to link instruments is already available: Audio and Instrument tracks... works nearly like in every other DAW but better 🙂 No need anymore to work in the Channel Rack or manually linking to anything...
Rightclick for example the playlist track and have a look for 3 little dots under a certain letter for an Included command... I.e. for the first command (Rename, color and icon) the first "R" hass 3 little dots underneath... this is the shortcut letter...

No hate, but can't you just ctrl+b, move the tracks to the right a little and then make them unique/clone the patterns? It's not on a single hotkey like reaper, but it's not a huge hassle imo
@FL Studio Tricks my bad. At 1:59, you copy each individual portion of the loop and paste it below, when you could use the highlight tool to highlight the whole thing, press ctrl+b and then drag the copied portion to where you want it. Unless I'm misunderstanding, I think that's the easiest way to do it.

Wanted this so long. Organization for mixing a lot of tracks took 6 years to set up in FL

A good step in the right direction. The biggest problem FL Studio says is how unintuitive and how many extra steps it takes to do simple things
