Codename Kids Next Door was a show I loved as a kid, but as an adult I realized it was probably the darkest show ever on Cartoon Network. Yes, I'm serious. Shows like Courage The Cowardly Dog, The Grim Adventures Of Billy & Mandy, & The Powerpuff Girls had darker imagery & monsters, but K.N.D. was the darkest show in terms of its concept & execution. What I mean by this is that it was probably the only kids show that regularly had episodes that had plots involving genocide. Yes, really think about how many times the villains were trying to wipe out the K.N.D. (sometimes through death & sometimes through other means), & it wasn't played as dark humor like in Courage or Billy & Mandy? Furthermore, think about how many people likely died off-screen we didn't realize as kids from the constant fighting between the K.N.D., teens, & adults? So yeah, looking back this series was arguably the darkest Cartoon Network ever aired.
Did we all forget the time Father nearly baked all the kids in town into a giant birthday cake for the Delightful Children? Or the fact that he permanently delightfulized the Delightful Children to where recomissioning them was only temporary? Imagine how worried their parents must have been knowing that their kids went missing and had their minds forever warped to behave like creepy, good-mannered, violent children? My hat goes off to Sector Z. If the G:KND ever becomes a reality, I hope they find a way to reverse the effect and bring them back. *"TELL... THE KIDS NEXT DOOR... WE MISS THEM...!! AAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!"*
Honestly, it wasn't that dark. The Powerpuff girls has a concept where the girls traveled into the future and Townsville is a hellscape. The implications alone are horrifying
I heard number five also has an older brother who has kids of his own she mentioned that in one of the episodes where the rest of the team assumed that hospitals were kidnapping babies to be transforming them into adults since number one and the others don't know where babies come from it would make sense for number 5 to be the smart one out of all of them she even said that she has an older brother who has kids of his own which can only mean one thing she has more outside world experience in the rest of her friends and maybe her personality and her chill attitude Minnesota to do with her mystery older brother that being said what do all of you think🤔❓️
If number 5 got the way she was from her sister is possible she also got some from her brother? In the baby hospital episode we learn number 5 has a brother old enough to have kids and move out the house. Could never seeing her brother be a factor too?
Thing is she's not really indifferent. She's calm, cool and collected for the most part but she clearly cares very deeply. She has passion for candy and ice cream based treasures and history. She feels very deeply about her friends and gets very hurt by betrayal. It's clear the reason her and Cree are so bitter enemies, even more so then the other villains in the show is because her own sister turned against the KND. She's Probably just so emotionally healthy that she can just let the unimportant stuff roll off of her back.
Here is a theory, Number 5 is just a cool, stoic and collected person naturally, not every behavior has to be the consequence of some event, parenting or disease/condition, dome people are naturally just like Number 5 is 😅, I feel and think it is as simple as that
I actually can see the logic in the theory about Abby's parents being indifferent causing Abby's personality. Kids mimic the actions of the people around them, that can be their friends, teachers, people they admire in their personal life, and yes their parents. We're a social species, we strive to make connections and as kids we need those connections, so we often mimic others around us so we can build that connection. But this doesn't mean we always copy GOOD or HEALTHY behaviors. Kids may act mean or lash out if they are surrounded by a toxic friend group or have an abusive home. I personally grew up with an abusive father, but a kind and caring mother, so I would mimic both my parents leading to a mix of an unpredictable, yet caring, personality growing up. Now, I favor the more caring side, but I still have some emotional issues.
A doctor and a lawyer huh? Sounds like another show I'm familiar with. Its also fitting because in some part her dad was based on the (very cancelled) star of that ahow
Numbuh 5 has always been my favorite. She and her sister, Cree made be enemies, but they still loved each other. This show has some secrets that needs to be discovered 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🥹🥹🥹🔥🔥🔥
Well, Sector V parents aren’t perfect or sometimes not so bright but they are actually good parents something Monty never had when he was a child or that Ms. Sunban wasn’t allowed to have a toy when she was a child. I have a theory that Sector V’s parents has a horrible childhood and doesn’t want their children to have it rough too so that’s why they let them be in their treehouse a lot.
it's really not this deep. abby seens to have loving parents and there are no implications that they ever pushed her to be as good as her sister. cree is established as a formidable foe to the knd, but she's not shown to be particularly gifted in terms of academics. abby on the other hand seems to be multi-talented (honor student, her macaroni art displayed on a museum, able to play the piano) and she doesn't seem very stressed about it. she's a great friend, a great leader and and a cool girl to be around. these theories have little to no ground to stand on lol

That and the delightful children, their were kidnap and brainwash (and father imply to be abusetive)
I agree entirely! That just shows once and for all that we must put our childish ways behind us and focus on more important things.

Thats a good point!
Cree was number 11
@@delta5287 I know that
@@NJ-tm1vn sorry I misread your comment.

They said act indifferent if I'm not mistaken not her actually being indifferent
My theory that Cree Lincoln still cares about Abby under the misanthropic seal.
What's that
@batbugz it means you genuinely hold hatred towards all human beings as a whole
... It's been stated in cannon that Cree does care.
She’s even a straight A student in school too! Love numbah 5
She also has a brother.
I hope Numbuh 5 has a better relationship with him than she did with her sister.
Cree used to be numbuh 11

Beacuse her dad is basically bill cosby?
Kids next door Abigail Lincoln she's my favorite character 👍
I loved this show as a kid I never knew this about number 5. 😌
I love you Numbuh 5!!!!! My favorite of all the KND!!!!
The only family faces we never see
What ya mean? We see Nigel's parents. His dad is number 0
@@doll9340 emphasis on never. We see Numbah 2, Numbah 3, Numbah 4, and Numbah 1. Never Numbah 5's.
@@Silvershadnicthis is a joke right? Also sorry I misread your comment. I thought you said faces we ever see
Cree was number 11, not number 5
Thank you
He says Cree was numbuh 11
Very minute I hear about numbah five’s family immediately point out the fact that her dad is Bill Cosby 😂😂😂
Same
True
Number 5's attitude always reminded of Jazz from Transformers
Because numbuh 5 is the true leader of the kids next door when numbuh 5 she's smart she's quiet also I believe numbuh 5
A doctor and a lawyer huh? Sounds like another show I'm familiar with. Its also fitting because in some part her dad was based on the (very cancelled) star of that ahow
Well her father was Bill Cosby so 🤣good enough reason to act indifferent.
Isn't Cree Summer amazing?
Out of all the KND parents, number 5’s parents still didn’t show their faces.
I choose believing number 5 carefree and the true leader smart funny she is my favorite character

Cree was actually Numbuh 11 when she was in the Kids Next Door
I remember I had a crush on her when I was like 6 or 7 I’m 27 now

I think Abbie's family influenced her sister to be evil.
Oh
Cree was number 11 not number 5
I think having Bill Cosby as your dad was bad
or maybe it's just her personality and not everything needs to have a tragic reason behind it
I was certain that there would be a Cosby theory here, but if that were the case; she'd be traumatised....
Shes just a chill girl she just wasnt a dog
Hated how they make some of the characters so skinny especially number 5 sister
