This is a gorgeous washcloth that can be made in a day. A perfect Mother's Day gift or just as a home decor item.

Cotton Yarn #4 (Worsted)
#9 knitting needles
yo=yarn over
Cast on 18 stitches by left hand loops.
Knit 1 row with the 18 stitches.
Row 1.- Knit 6, yo, knit 10 (2 stitches left on left needle), turn,
Row 2.- Knit back the 17 the stitches.
Row 3.- Knit 6, yo, knit 9 (4 stitches left on left needle), turn,
Row 4.- Knit back the 16 stitches.
Row 5.- Knit 6, yo, knit 8 (6 stitches left on left needle), turn,
Row 6.- Knit back the 15 stitches.
Row 7.- Knit 6, yo, knit 7 (8 stitches left on left needle), turn,
Row 8.- Knit back the 14 stitches.
Row 9.- Knit 6, yo, knit 6 (10 stitches left on left needle), turn,
Row 10.- Knit back the 13 stitches.
Row 11.- Knit 6, yo, knit 5 (12 stitches left on left needle), turn,
Row 12.- Knit back the 12 stitches.
Row 13.- Bind off 6 stitches, knit to end of the row= 18 stitches
Row 14.- Knit back the 18 stitches.
Knit these 14 rows, 12 more times. -13 in total.
a)Bind off all stitches and sew with beginning
or
b) Leave live stitches on needle and sew those with beginning row.
Pass yarn through “bumps” to close the center.
Secure yarn and weave in ends.
For 14 stitches:
yo=yarn over
Cast on 14 stitches. Long tail cast on or left hand loops cast on.
Knit 1 row with 14 stitches if using left hand loops.
Row 1.- Knit 4, yo, knit 8 (2 stitches left on left needle), turn,
Row 2.- Knit back the 13 the stitches.
Row 3.- Knit 4, yo, knit 7 (4 stitches left on left needle), turn,
Row 4.- Knit back the 12 stitches.
Row 5.- Knit 4, yo, knit 6 (6 stitches left on left needle), turn,
Row 6.- Knit back the 11 stitches.
Row 7.- Knit 4, yo, knit 5 (8 stitches left on left needle), turn,
Row 8.- Knit back the 10 stitches.
Row 9.- Bind off 4 stitches, knit to end of the row=14
Row 10.- Knit the 14 stitches.
Knit these 10 rows, 13 more times.
14 in total.
Bind off all stitches. Sew this row with beginning.
or
Leave live stitches on needle and sew these with beginning row.
