    I never thought it would sound like an orca. Then again, I've always liked engines whirr as the plane precipitates and ascend into the air.

      Yeah, me too. It's a shame.

    One of if not THE QUIETEST regional aircraft out there. Look for these Airbus A220's to take over the market in the near future. LEAPS and BOUNDS ahead of any 737 MAX BY FAR.

      The A220 is not a Max competitor

    I was on the A220 yesterday for the first time (I normally fly southwest w/ the B737's) and when I heard that noise I thought something was wrong. Haha.The cabin though is significantly quieter than the B737... and the windows in the A220, fantastic.

    Wow it really does sound like an Orca.

    If you're wondering what causes the orca/whale sound. Well, I have no idea what causes it.
    Jk it's just the change of airflow in the combustion chamber when throttling up. Also, the engine stays in idle when you're hearing the orca/whale sound.

    That orca sound isn't from the engine. It's from the brakes. I've heard this sound before after my plane landed.

    • @shaunganley
      @shaunganley  Год назад

      That's the engine at work again, reverse thrust, to slow the plane down. Clearly, we're not using brakes here to take-off.

    • @nyc1164
      @nyc1164 Год назад

      @@shaunganley - No, I'm certain it was the brakes. I heard that sound after the plane slowed down and about to enter the taxiway. If it was the engines, then all planes with that same design engines would all make the same sound all the time.
