2nd SSD for HP Probook 6465b, 6475b, 6560b ( 642774-001)

In this video, we replace the Hard drive of an HP Probook 6465, 6475, and 6560b with a solid state drive. The HDD bracket/caddy is a replacement for part number 642774-001. The bracket/ caddy replacement is a part manufactured by Newmodeus and is not an HP OEM part.

Do you know much about compatibility problems between the HP Probook 6560b and many SSDs? I've read stories about SSDs that don't and the probook may need a bios update.

This is a very nice video, but I think that you should write in the description that the HP probook 6560b may not recognize an SSD without a properly updated BIOS. Some PC users never bother to even once update their BIOS. The hp probook 6560b will not recognize an SSD if the BIOS has never been updated. I know this because I just installed an SSD on this model yesterday, and I couldn’t get it to recognize the SSD until I updated the BIOS (that had never once been updated in 10 years! LOL)

You can use and capacity. no limit made sure you update the latest bios.

I had that one for free and don't really use it anyways.. but still weird that it was impossible to get out.. :/

the awful drive cage is eating into a plastic shroud something below you need to put a screwdriver in the drive holes (no worries their sturdy metal) and shove it out in the right direction with enough pressure ... be gentle though i.imgur.com/XcbCnf8.jpg

the drive cage on my device was so sharp edged and eating in the plastic shroud below... had to use screwdrivers and some intense pressure to move it out ... first time for everything - pic related: marked the holes where to stick in the screw driver and shove it out (gentle ...) i.imgur.com/XcbCnf8.jpg
