Man gotta give you props on going through the talents you picked. Everyone seems to go through every single talent when all I want to hear about is why you picked the one you picked. I can read, I don't need people to read them to me, I need them to explain their opinion to me why they feel that one has greater benefits than the others. The video was direct, to the point without wasting my time.
this was great content mate. even though it was a 'longer' video, i felt most of your points were pretty succinct and I learned a ton from watching. I especially liked the commentary after you explained the build while you were running through fractals and pvp etc
I assume you say this because English isn't your first language and you need to know that you write English better than most Americans can write or speak it
Two pets by far you want are the Rock Gazelle and Jacaranda, I tried the smokescale and half the time the invisibility I could not pull off (as you have to be able to swoop out of the smokescreen just in right time and in right area), or it just took too much timing and coordination and was kind of a pain in the ass, when I could just tap 3 on my bow and go cloak and do a combo already. The Rock Gazelle is so key for PvP and WvW because you can charge 1200 with him in combo with your swoop on your sword means you will pass a lot of ground and his launch is so good when finishing someone when down so he can't block your finish if your stability is on CD, and to top it he is ferocious, so you can do awesome damage with the sic em combo while merged. The Jacaranda is an obvious choice as it can wipe the entire enemy team on a point if they are bunched together or in a downed state or ressing someone down, they will all die by the lightning that is OP and very impressive. The utility heals and additional lighting strike make this supportive pet as my 2cnd choice and it is always nice to have a range pet in the mix, trust me! I don't like riding with 2 melee pets, it can suck in some situations. I was tempted with the spiders, the wolf, and the smokescale, but how can you can compete with Gazelle and Jacaranda?
Thank you for this guide. I was pretty close on the build, but your tips on gear and talents helped bump up my game. I had no clue about the sic 'em affecting you as a soulbeast, that just made my day haha. And I felt the pain of that last clip falling off of the cliff. I did that just two days ago lol.
I’ve been running a similar build and just when I started to branch out the ranger buff drops and I go back into optimization mode. Thanks for the deep dive. I’m excited to integrate what you’ve shared!
Hey just wanted to say that i played gw2 when the game came out but i started to play recently from a long time and your character guides are helping me a lot retaking the fun ingame. Thx a lot.
Actually, I change my mind. GW2 is not a game now, it's a reality, where all that matters is efficiency. No thank you, I'm going back to my single player worlds. At least there's SOME beauty there.
@Sacre No argument there. However, it IS a MMORPG. Too much efficiency focus, too few fantasy and roleplaying. I don't blame the game, it's just... well, pity that I apparently came back too late.
I play a Power-Sic’ Em-Soulbeast (Beastmaster/Marksmanship/Soulbeast) on my Main, and I play it for open world fun rather than going pure optimization, but it’s still one of my favourite + most effective builds that I play. I’m a Sylvari wielding Caladbolg and Leaf of Kudzu, upgrading to Kudzu once I have all of the legendary components of course.
NGL your play on Soulbeast is pretty insane as IMO it can be one of the harder spec to play and mix with all of that it does do which can fly over the head of some of us... Loved this guide and keep them up gonna watch them all lol.
While I didn't exactly copy this build, It did remind me to revisit my SB's gear and move stuff around to get back in line with the berserker meta meme.
The only thing that I HATE in power ranger's builds is the 5th skill of the axe (Whirling Defense)! I think that, as the name suggests, it's a defensive skill, and isn't suposed to have that much burst potencial, besides that, its so unconfortable to use, you stay still, vulnerable, takes so long and the skill cancel if you move. That build with GS/LB is a dream to almost every ranger (including me) wishes for this build (GS/LB) to be meta, at least, we can have that in casual plays and PvP/WvW, thanks for your build, let's make Anet make a good "Power Ranger" without Whirling Defense please!
I do a sort of marauders/diviner’s more boon-share version of this and agree it works very nicely. I didn’t think to use skirmishing instead of marksmanship though.
I spec'd into druid in the beginning and now I dont have the hero points to spec into Soulbeast just yet. I wish you could respec the elite specialization. Thank you for the guide.
Is Greatsword so much better than for example dagger/axe? The dagger leap that gives quickness into axe tornado with sicem+ult on is crazy damage as well plus u can go dagger jump for quickness into longbow rapid fire or is the basic greatsword combo just better?
@@Vallun That's a good point yea just wish I had a good class to use my Incinerator on feels like besides Thief which I dont like there arent many good Dagger classes? But thanks for the reply Vallun I really appreciate your guides theyve been really helpfull since I had like a 6 year break from this game
could you suggest this kinda build for a "gaming beginner" (like my 8yo daughter^^) ? should we make some changes to reduce the required intake to play the build ? she is still getting used to wasd+mouse and stuff, but wants to play soulbeast with her dad^^
this build is good for beginners, but instead of taking the greatsword trait in beastmastery you could take the one that heals your pet (you while merged) and you could just stay merged the entire time for a bit more sustain.
Im pretty sure Sic Em modifier only increases your damage for the target you have used it on, and not for other targets. So baiting one person with the Sic Em reveal and dpsing someone else would not make use of the modifier.
Sigil of Force is a pretty terrible sigil outside of a PvE setting, aside from that the WvW build isn't bad though condi clear will not be plentiful. Trading off skirmishing for wilderness survival offers a lot more sustain whilst still retaining extremely potent burst.
Just tried this version, but i'm still more used to Wilderness Survival than Skirmishing. The survival skills synergies are too much to pass up on for me, and also with marauder armor+zerker rest and durability runes, i outlast most other roaming class because i also have dps. I also like sigil of severance more than celerity.
Hello my friend, I am returning player, so i have lost quite a lot of knowledge and mechanic skill. I even watched your other videos/guides :) I was debating myself between soulbest/necromancer (reaper/scourge) and I still have to reach the asnwer. I tried your build, its amazing, but how do you keep your self alive/sustain? I tried to stay merged, but its not easy to jump around and evade but also deal dmg (at my level at least xd) Maybe until I re-learn the game i should stick with necro for a bit...
Would've loved to see the DPS through arcdps while doing cm 100. Looking for a new class/build and would like to compare my current class to others in a real-world scenario. not fighting against a static golem.
41:16 quick question. How did you manage to follow the thief’s direction with rapid fire when they ported next to you then behind you? My rapid fire always gets cancelled and goes on a mini cooldown when they try to get behind me. Is there some kind of hotkey toggle to enable this? I see that your were almost tracking as they maneuvered around you. Thank you.
Will this hold up in raids? I have yet to do raids, and I don't want to get booted for not having some "meta" build. I've been using this in Fractals, and without all the might infusions, I'm around or above 10K, so thank you for that!
Also don't remember if you covered skirmishing tratiline other than you start the fight 'behind the boss.' It's only good if you can flank your target so in open world you should swap it out for what? Marksmanship? Or is it still worthwhile to go skirmishing even though you miss out on the behind/flank bonus?
Something doesn't seem to be working right. I went in to test out your PvE version with full ascended and the correct stats and runes, but with spotter I'm only hitting 89.9% crit chance before the flanking bonus. it's only a difference of 0.24 percent so it hardly matters, but it seems odd to me that I'm not able to hit the exact same number. EDIT: In attempting to match your build I'm noticing an issue. I'm 50 power and 105 precision below you. I see you have infusions which explains the power, but I'm not sure how to explain the precision (I guess spotter covers the first 100). If you're using precision infusions as well you should probably mention that in the guide. If not, I'm confused how are stats aren't the same.
Thank you for this video I'm trying to find a nice class to play as a main in pvp this one looks like fun! Does size of your character matter for your ranged attacks? My little asura seems to be hitting alot of "obstructed" even when there's not even a hill in the way, just a very little bump of grass seems to be enough in wvw :D
