- Hello everyone; welcome to a new instalment of the Mini-Vids series after over a year, marking the tenth one to date! Since it's been a while; if you are un-familiar with my Mini-Vids series it's essentially short form train videos with content that is self-explanatory that requires little to no commentary so you can just enjoy some quick train movements.
In this episode; we are based at Dakabin Railway Station in south-east Queensland, Australia where it is located on the Caboolture / Sunshine Coast Lines section of the North Coast Line on 3ft 6in (1,067mm gauge) with the station being located about 32 kilometres (19 miles) from Central Station in Brisbane which is Queensland's state capital city.
The trains we will be seeing pulling into this station are the 6 coach sets of Queensland Rail's New Generation Rollingstock electric passenger train; often also referred to simply as the NGR on the 5th of April, 2024. The NGRs were built from 2015-2019 by Bombardier Transportation in India. The first sets were in regular service by 2017 and so are fairly recent additions to the Brisbane suburban rail network albeit have had accessibility issues since their introduction and many sets have required refurbishments from 2019 to now! Currently 75 have been built and draw electric power from the overhead catenary power lines over the electrified suburban rail network around Brisbane at 25 kV 50 Hz AC.

Thank you very much for providing us with this excellent video. The trains sound great when they depart from the station and they look good too. One wonders if this class if train will continue to be constructed since Alstom have taken over Bombardier. It is sad that the company was taken over like that as it means that there is less choice available for those who require new rolling stock. It is a little strange not hearing you narrating!
@@johnsmart964 No problem, thanks for your comment! I don’t know much about overseas rail manufactures; but I would hope Alstom still chooses to sell and manufacture Bombardier designs.
Yeah I haven’t done a video without narration for a very long time; but not to worry as the next following videos will have narration once again!
