I always start with gibberish because I care more about the musical aspect of my thing. But in my understanding sometimes you need to let the beat do its thing so I put little stops where the beat is strong. Besides, stops help your flow be more dynamic, more rhytmical and it gets easier to break the one you're singing and shift to another one. This way your flow will not be over-repetitious, thus boring. And the beat will also shine where it's supposed to. Sometimes I start rapping before or after the verse intro. This also makes a verse intro more badass and exciting. When the beat's and your stars allign lyrics and punchlines will start rushing in because you will be feeling it and your brain will be getting the gist of things. All in all, just listen to the beat more carefully and it will show you the way.

    So dope !
For my writing style, I may get little phrases in my head, And if I like it I’ll write it down, I may turn it into a song or just leave it there to come back to, It’s never forced and When I do write it comes as I write, Like someone’s telling me exactly what to write and I let it guide me

Good information. My process varies from song to song. Sometimes I'll come up with a concept to fit the beat, or I piggyback a whole verse or song off the concept/flow of the first few lyrics, other times I already have free lyrics that I match to a beat. Sometimes I'm deliberate with what I want to write, other times lyrics come from random moments that happen throughout the day, or maybe I freestyle a couple nice bars that make it into a song. Occasionally I'll use a rhyme dictionary if I get stuck or feel like I'm forcing something.

Angel, that’s the story of my life at times. Battle Rap is a beautiful art form to watch for the pure enjoyment of lyricism. But sometimes the randomness of the lyrics and the multiple references told in those rounds are not the best example for songwriting. So I hear you!

I don’t rap anymore, only produce. But when I did I would ALWAYS mumble gibberish to get my flow down and then I’d turn them into lyrics. But another key thing that I’d always do is I’d imagine how my favorite rappers would sound on the beat I’d make, or the beat I’d feature on, and I’d take inspiration from their lyric writing style.
For example: if I was on a beat that I’d spaz on, I’d imagine how Eminem or Tech N9ne would sound on it and how I could make the verse sound like my own. If it was a more mellow track, I’d imagine how Kendrick or J Cole would sound and I’d find a way to make it sound like me.

I've been writing beats for years- Over a decade- I've always known I've had a semi decent voice- and I've done some small harmonizing for house tracks n what not- but I've come to realize that Artists get much more popular, much faster than Producers- and usually- The artist is the person who gets the recognition.
I've recently been really wanting to start trying to rap-
And something I've always done that really helped was the freestyling absolute nonsense until it becomes something coherent-
However I've never had the confidence or *direction* to make a serious attempt at putting out a song with my voice as the forefront of the song-
but I'm ngtl *these tips- as simple as they seem- actually might've been the boost i needed- it definitely gave me a few tools that I can ALREADY SEE working for me*
I mainly just kind of want to put some of my frustration into words and then use my music and voice as an outlet for it.

Ive been writing and producing metal/rock for a vocalist, while producing and sampling hiphop for myself. Been a lot of fun; and lately I’ve been taking the workflow from the mpc into the recording and tracking process for metal. (Record now arrange and sequence later).
As for hiphop - I’ve been experimenting with different time signatures, somewhat inspired by metal drums. As well as the complicated mixing and mastering techniques I use in metal/rock - I’ve been implementing into how I mix hiphop. (More automations, more tempo changes, creating my sounds from the ground up and ‘emulating’ sounds that have character).
Writing lyrics is a different approach for both - I’m more experimental with hiphop, and less judgmental I suppose. In metal/rock - I’ll do more refining and more thoughtful and careful to make it into a ‘poem’

I like that part, you actually write every concept you get, so that you use it in the future. As for I tend to forget the way my concept is going or how the flow went, so I use my phone, actually I make a full song most of the times. Just raw recording on my phone. Tho its hard to get back to the same recording and re-record it.

    My inner lonely feeling
    Chorus
    I'm lonely even though I'm not ,
I'm feeling low, i became a little slow
    I'm anxious about being thankless
I'm frankness I've got a blankness in my heart
    Verse 1
I'm home, in my phone peaceful staying, making fame
    That came like a strike
I'm brave you know, so go ahead and get that right
    I'll follow my dream
It seems like is just how i thought
    Everyone is dumbass l
i know it's hard to live when you've been mistreated like you don't exist
I want to turn back time when i was happy
When i didn't care about how i looked
    I didn't know that I'll be alone
The lonelyness is haunting me everywhere i am
    Damn I'm lost
    People crossed my limits
Homicide is all over my mind
    I'll decide to kill someone
    I'll show my bad side
I applied some Advice in my mind
    To be kind and fine
    Homicide suicide it sounds same
I stepped on ground i found some peace around the nature
    Chorus
    I'm lonely even though I'm not ,
I'm feeling low, i became a little slow
    I'm anxious about being thankless
I'm frankness I've got a blankness in my heart
    Verse 2
    I fuckin hate everything
    I wanna replace the state
My my worst case is dealing with people who don't respect me
Every night i watch the moon
It's same as me alone Surrounded by stars like me surrounded by enemies
Who knows that I'm in pain everyday in my life
I'll Stop on top when it's the time to get revenge
    I dropped all my talents
    For all my dreams
But i forgot to use my skills
    I reduced my inner feeling
    Just like is easy
I feel breeze in my face when I'm out
I got a disease named lonelyness
    It won't be permanent
    I have a determinant case
    Chorus
    I'm lonely even though I'm not ,
I'm feeling low, i became a little slow
    I'm anxious about being thankless
I'm frankness I've got a blankness in my heart
    Verse 3
    Depression, expression
Who cares what I've been through and what I'm through i gave you my trust and you broke it just like is nothing man yo yo
I'll get revenge when is the right time, I'll commit a crime on time
    I hate the prime
I'll be silent, and I'll become violent in that right time
I say ya in the best way ya just made some dust
I trusted you always till this point
I thought that is our joint problem
I will name it as my biggest problem Yo
I will be far away from everyone
    I'll be close in myself
Most of y'all are afraid to show fear in the worst possible way
I have ear i can hear the things you say bout me I'm near like I'm far I'll start from my heart to be cold i have told I'm holding on All the stress is less depressive
    I'll be aggressive to myself
I'm dealing with my feeling, in the same time I'm healing
I'll forget the things by the time
I'm fine then when I will take revenge I'll set the cross line in fire I'm higher than y'all you just call me close I'll be you worst nightmare

I do it so I can memorize the flow I will use then as I punch in the lyrics I’m still finding more for the rest of the song until it’s finished. After it’s finnished I usually go back to it a few days later and go over the whole song by re recording it then revising how the song goes. It works for me but the way I find the rhyme scheme gets me stuck usally.

Ive been a writer since i could hold a pencil in my hand, srarted with short stories, by the time i was 10 started with poetry and songwriting n just exploded from there in all styles of writing. For bout 10 yrs now ive been getting pretty hrd core about my raps . A cpl of them have choruses but the cpl songs tht im working on right now seriously they dont have choruses. I kinda had the idea that hey ill be different, who needs a chorus ill just flow through the entire song, which could work but i cant do it with every song. I can sing really good so id like to show off my talent as a singer as well as a rapper. Also the chorus will help me with making the songs a lil bit longer. But i cant seem to come up with anything that i think fits. Sorry for the novel but guess im asking what do u think can i get away with a few of the songs not having a chorus? And what do u suggest about having something that sounds good enough but that i dont think fits, and settling with it?

Hearing u started over 20yrs ago takes the heart out of me😰 what should i do to be as potentially good at my first years????because am aware of the first years being whack😂

There’s no way around putting in the hours of practice necessary. The goal shouldn’t be to try to be better than anyone except yourself. If competition determines your success you’ll forever have to move the goal post. Most of all, you have to learn to fall in love with the process no matter where you’re at.
