    This is so individual and interesting. While there are so many people doing rather similar pieces, this feels as if you have followed your heart. Keep on doing what you’re doing. It’s rather inspiring.

      Hello, Loupa! Thank you for your lovely comment. When I first started my channel there was only one lady doing similar, it has now become very popular :-) I think you're right about following "your heart". I believe as creative people that's probably what we all do. I hope you try some of the projects and let us all see it on facebook!

    I love your idea of cutting up adult coloring books and using the designs in your slow stitching projects. I will try that with my unused adult coloring books. Coloring them stresses me, also, so this is a perfect solution. Thank you for sharing your work - it is inspiring.

    I have been enjoying all your videos Teresa, but there was a moment where I laughed out loud, because I did exactly that, I cut a bit out of the inside of my husbands shirt cuff and he didnt realise, until he tried to roll the sleeves up on a warm day! My brother just turned up yesterday with a bundle of shirts, as I am making a recycled fabric quilt for some friends who are passionate about the environment. Like you, I keep everything for re-use.

    Watched this four times! And I want to add that colouring books can become embroidery designs, they can be printed onto fabric, you can take as much or as little of the page to help design a page. I have loads of colouring books for what ever reason and I have learned that they have many uses. 😀😃😄

      No, I would not be able to say "No thank you" to fabric or anything I could usein crafting. I too am a collector of fabric among other crafting things. I have a lot material that has been bought but also love saving clothing from clothing to be upcycled. And then I enjoy going to thrift stores to buy more! The problem is finding the time to use it!!

The contractors moved in on a Sunday, a day before the restrictions on cutting down trees because of nesting birds came into force. It was heartbreaking seeing the carnage on the Monday morning! I found it very difficult at first because I am naturally noisy and 'busy' so I ve have to work hard. In fact, I spoke to a psychologist last week who is recommending it for her medical colleagues to help them through the current Covid stress of hospital life. I swim most mornings and find it easier to practice mindfulness in the swimming pool (although the pools are closed at the moment) It's so relaxing - everyone should try it ha, ha.

      Hello! Thank you for your comment. A journal is a notebook or diary used for writing your thoughts, ideas or "secrets" or anything you want. It could be for poems or places you've travelled to.
      They're usually made from paper and card and the pages decorated with paper pictures, photos, postcards...
      Some people, like me, like to use fabrics and paper together, or just fabric and use stitches to decorate the pages.
      Iit's a really nice art/craft. Have a go with any pieces of textiles you have. It's good fun!
      I hope this helped . I am sorry I don't know your name. 🌹

    Beautiful work! I've a query: when you stitch onto paper - esp satin stitch - does the paper not go into holes? What is your suggestion?

    • @allsewnuptextileart
      @allsewnuptextileart  2 года назад +2

      Sorry for the delay in replying Nancy, I hope you haven't been waiting. Life 'took' over a little!! Always back or line your paper, especially if it's a lightweight paper like printing paper, do this with iron on interfacing if possible, if not use a fine fabric like polyester cotton and with a glue stick , carefully glue the back of your paper and then place the fabric ontop, then place under a heavy book to dry and flatten. I would probably tack, baste or machine sew with a long stitch, all the way around the edge of the paper to stop it from separating from the interfacing. This makes the paper stronger, so a needle can be pulled through. Don't place your stitches too close otherwise your needle holes will be too close and rip the paper. It's quite a gentle process- use a thin, sharp needle so it slides into the paper and you won't have to pull it will any force. if you need more help please contact me here or through the facebook group. Good luck! :-)

    I'm watching this now as I have just started small pieces of stitch meditations which I would like to put in a journal.How did you make the actual base of the pages of the journal that make up the signatures? Are they paper, card, fabric? I have made a lot of various mixed media journals and a fabric one that Anne brooke did last year. And I have seen the stitch meditation pieces glued to a paper journal but I don't want to glue them. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks Teresa. I love your "Jaws!" It made me LOL.

    • @allsewnuptextileart
      @allsewnuptextileart  3 года назад

      Hi Susan. I ve just had a look at that journal. The basic journal pages are card but some of the textile work have been mounted on even more card after working. Other pieces of work have been worked on a thick background fabric which makes them appear thicker than the basic card pages. This is especially true when two "thicker" pieces of work are back to back on a page. I am looking at that journal now, and the thickness of the pages varies depending on the size, thickness and weight of the work it's holding. Please get back to me if this does nt answer your question 😁
