You lucky man Glenn..... LOVE IT! I'm not going to lie, I'm envious.... but sadly a little out of my price range! It's very obvious where the money has gone, Robs attention to detail is off the radar..... right through the components all the way down to the presentation. This is how a special limited edition should come. Loving all the personalised component packaging and box art, and those mesh grills are delightful (something that the original didn't have!) As an owner of three original 959's,i can safely say that this chassis will perform far better, and be 50 times more durable! Great stuff, thanks for sharing mate, really looking forward to future uploads on the build etc. And, get ready for some serious painting and decal stress.... I've built 40+ rc cars, and can safely say the 959 is the hardest body ever to paint and sticker up properly! 😂 Awesome video Sir! 👍 👍 👍

@@rivierarc Lol.... 😂 Good point mate! Painting a two tone colour scheme is never easy, but add to it the 959 's curvy and crevice filled body shape and it's a real challenge to paint inside out as it were! Then of course on the original you had all of the details to hand paint on- !lights, indicators, window trim, door handles, grill etc etc, with no window masks provided either! Painting the cockpit detailing is a total ball ache, but if done well it looks amazing. And then of course there's the decals- Getting the gold and red stripe to line up around the whole shell along the join of the two colours is tricky to say the least! The old Tamiya decals had a foil like texture to the gold stripe that used to bubble up so bad on the rear spoiler, and on the curves of the front wings. Hopefully the more modern decals provided in this kit will be better/easier to lay down. The whole body is a major challenge, but as with all tricky projects, the final product is amazing and filled with a great sense of achievement! Best of luck to you mate. 😊 👍 👍 👍

Really cool kit! I have been following along with the creation of all this on his Instagram page. The amount of time and effort he put into everything is unreal! It should be a tremendous showpiece once you get it built! Take care and thanks for the walk through of everything!
Looks very nice, mine should arrive soon 😊 It's almost like a plastic model with a lexan body 😉 I love the 959, I have the one from the 2 star company and while super iconic, the fragility is 😢 For example, you "pray" every time you remove the body, afraid you'll shear the body. I "runned" it once, sweating like tropical rain every second 🥵 Anyway, ready to build and ready for the Poorboy's RC speed challenge 😅🤝

Rob has done a great job. I think the 959 is probably the least likely car to ever receive a Re-release so it’s a good thing to put the effort into. My other grail car is a Kyosho LWB Optima Mid and my guess is we’ll see that rereleased
The MF-01X is an interesting and good choice for the speed run competition. The Project959 is great idea. From the box art to the parts organization it's a masterpiece. Scale builders will be very envious of people like yourself who got one of these. I can understand your happiness to get one.
