I knew a little bit of Bobby Mc Ferrin but this performance is genius. The way he has full control over his voice, the way he's so liberated about it, free like a bird, so emotionnaly connected with other musicians... extraordinary people. Now I can see so much of Bobby Mc Ferrin's influence of Jacob Collier... he spoke about this performance in an interview. the little bird at the end, the liberated voice... even the way Bobby Mc Ferrin engages with the audience in other performances.
I can die happy now, having seen Edgar Meyer, Bobby McFerrin, Yo-Yo Ma, and Mark O'Connor play together. All that's left is for Sibelius, Micheal Andrews, Roger Waters and Victor Wooten to get together and have a jam session.
I love this song so much🙂! When my family was going through hard times and we fortunately had a home but barely enough money for food and clothes, my parents would always sing me to sleep with this song. We are still in hard times but we've gotten through most, thank the Lord! Even though we are still having money problems, we are rich in love!!❤
A lullaby band from Heaven! Of course YoYo and Bobby, but also check out the side men - master fiddler Mark O'Conner and world class Bassist Edgar Meyer! Nothing beats the joy of four musical masters getting together for a little light-hearted fun!
Starting on 01:13 is spontaneous improv from McFerrin. This little improv of his show his complete and utter control and mastery of his instrument i.e. his voice. It's so flowy and easy for him. I'm in complete awe and that smirk on Yo-Yo-Yo Ma's face is an indication that he recognizes it as well.
This lightens my soul. There's a really strong link between those people on the stage, see their faces and their trust in each other like "Hey bro, we like what we doing, we're doing it together and well. We trust in each other to make you cry, whisper "oh god..." or even laugh."
Just listened to Yoyo ma's new book on Audible and he mentioned his work with Bobby, as a long-time fan of both, had to look up and here it is! Wonderful.
I love the way the artists in this vid "communicate" with each other. Look at how Yo-Yo Ma and McFerrin looks at each other, so relaxing and smart too :)
hush little baby don't say a word papas Gona by you a mockingbird, and if that mockingbird won't sing, papas Gona buy you a diamond ring and if that diamond ring turns brass papas Gona buy you a looking glass.and if that looking glass should break papas gonna buy you a chocolate cake 🍫🎂and when that chocolate cake you eat papas Gona buy you a puppy sweet and if that puppy puppy puppy puppy don't bark "yap"papa Gona buy you a horse and cart and if that horse and cart break down papas Gona buy you a big toy clown.hush little baby don't you cry papas Gona sing you a lullaby.
Such a joyful video! Their shared delight in their music, each playing his own instrument, is clearly evident. What a marvelous voice! I'd no idea who Bobby McFerrin was until this but I'm totally won over now.
wow what an amazing group of musicians. it is amazing enough listening to edgar meyer. and it is amazing enough litening to yo yo. and it is simply an honor to listen to mcferrin. aaah this is amazing.
gran tema para poner de alarma despertadora. genial. este es el lenguaje universal que no necesita un idioma porque todos son uno con el. from colombia south america
I've been going though some tough thing lately and even though those things aren't any better Bobby brought a smile to my face for the first time in a while.
Thanks for pointing that out. I've been searching out his stuff, and he's epic. He pairs with some amazing musicians. (Check out the one with Bela Fleck.) What a genuine pleasure it must be to have the honor of seeing such accompaniments in person.
what i like about yoyoma is that hes sooooo differernt, he plays classical amazingly, and yet he can have lots of fun!!! and do litttle easy funn things!!!
Love when the best get together ... this is divine, they all clearly enjoy it and why the hell wouldn't they? Oh yeah, I love when the goal posts are raised!!!
You do realize that the VOICE was the first 'instrument' ever used to make music, right? Bobby McFerrin is a world reknowned vocalist who has ALSO spent decades perfecting his voice. He teaches masters level vocal classes, and has done performances the world over. I'm not really sure why you see a need to make some racist comment on a video people posted because it's light-hearted and sweet. Play it for your child, I bet they love it.
i wanna be like yo yo ma some day. i had a workshop with bobby mcferrin and we learned how to sing like that with circular breathing. id never be that good but i wish!
I love the way they look at each other with admiration and respect
I swear I'm so glad you wrote that...I can't give enough praise for them..

I've been watching this for years, and it still chokes me up. These guys are the best.
I can die happy now, having seen Edgar Meyer, Bobby McFerrin, Yo-Yo Ma, and Mark O'Connor play together. All that's left is for Sibelius, Micheal Andrews, Roger Waters and Victor Wooten to get together and have a jam session.
It's so cute how happy Yo-yo Ma looks. You can tell laying the cello is really fun for him.
Okay Cimone. Understood.

Love the eye contacts between Yoyo Ma and Bobby, brings a smile every time!
Just by this part alone 2:00 Bobby McFerrin is the greatest singer ever hands no comparison.
Four world-class musicians, all masters of their instruments. I hope those people in the audience knew how lucky they were!!!
bobby mcferrin is a nut, his voice is so freakin awesome, its like an instrument that only he can play.
The Korean subtitles give me hope that America exports more culture than just Britney Spears, McDonalds and reality TV. This is wonderful!
I feel like Americans are as reductive about their own culture as they are about all other cultures.
bts hehe
America exports everything culturally. We started punk, jazz, sort-of metal, and most influentially, all sorts of pop.
They were opening for The Kardashians. They just get up on stage, have sex, and the crowd cheers while slamming Mt. Dew cans into their forehead.
bobby is one of the most tallended acapella jazz singers..
possibly one of the oldest comments ive ever found
also talented*
This makes me happy and lighthearted, they really look like their having so much fun^^

Work on delaying your gratification.

If it's possible to like a video two three times (or more!) I'd do that on this one. Very very heart warming.
Just listened to Yoyo ma's new book on Audible and he mentioned his work with Bobby, as a long-time fan of both, had to look up and here it is! Wonderful.
Love the fact that everyone was all smiles and were enjoying themselves in this performance. They just had so much fun:)

Phenomenal rendition of the classic song. McFerrin and Ma are so talented, they are a delightful pair.
Look at those smiles on all their faces. How could they not be smiling when what comes out is so full of joy and beauty...I love it.

Bobby's smile is probably even better than his singing! He's amazing!

Amazing, so happy and pleasant :)
The clip was made well over 15 years ago. The group, except Bobby McFerrin, went on to make at least two other albums with SONY with great acclaim.
Bobby McFerrin: One of the greatest vocalist of the modern world.
my little garden of memory..Still I love this song
I'm just speechless.
True artists indeed.
