- Well I scored the mother of all book hauls, I'm going to call it a book hoard! I was told there was between 300 to 400 sci-fi fantasy books in these 8 boxes. I never counted, it was just too many books! I hope you enjoy me opening these boxes and reacting to some of the books I got. This is going to be a series of videos split up into 3 parts. I hope you enjoy and keep reading!

Your wife is an unsung hero. Her patience is amazing. Lots of great books here and also lots of obscure books. Great mix in these boxes.
Couldn't agree more!
Robert Sawyer is a great Canadian science fiction author. You won’t be disappointed in his books
The Katherine Kurtz series is excellent.
Gotta keep that Assassins Apprentice and Royal Assassin, that’s Whelan art. Those are the versions I have.
Hambly’s Dragonsbane is the book that got Sanderson into reading, you had some of her stuff here.
Some of those Lackey books, the Magic’s [insert noun] was one of the first fantasy books with a gay main character. And those Kurtz books look in good shape, I don’t have any of her books yet. Same with Kerr and Jones.
I hear good things about Accelerando, Jonathan probably knows more about it.
Thanks Liam for all the notes. I decided to keep the Hobb books. My wife is a Mercedes’ Lackey fan so she wanted all those.
John Scalzi old man's war series, there just read the second book definitly looking forward to reading the rest!
Karen Traviss wrote some Halo and Gears of War books, and some Star Wars ones I think.
David Weber wrote lots of space opera, quite popular. I’ve read one of his fantasy books, I really enjoyed it.
What?! Total snub on the John Scalzi 😅 I'm looking forward to Old Man's War - a coworker recommended it
You’ll have to let me know how you like it. I may read it after your recommendation 😋
Old Man's is a quick read. Worth it. Interesting vision of the future. Not deep like Dune or Hyperion, but very casual scfi.
Thanks for more information Larry. It all helps!
Hey Robin Hobb! Definitely a win even if you have them. Requiem for the Sun is book 4 in a series and the first book Rhapsody is one of the worst books I've ever read lol
Haha that’s a heck of a comment. Rhapsody is one of the worst books I read. Love it!
@@TreeBeardBookReviews Lol I have a super old audio only rant on it, I hated it so much. I used to not DNF books prior to that one, but I'd read 400 pages and had 200 to go and just simply couldn't do it anymore
Robert Silverberg is a great writer.
Joe Haldiman Forever War series is great. Peter F. Hamilton too.
John Scalzi worth the effort.
Thanks Ralph!
Looks to me like that Blade Runner 2 is a legitimate sequel
Oh really? Even with the different author? Very strange
Wow! Lots of obscure ones yet again. The only ones I recognized were Dan Simmons, Guy Gavriel Kay, and Mercedes Lackey. Oh, and Diana Wynne Jones. She wrote Howl’s Moving Castle.
I don’t know if you saw in the Discord Chas. I got 7 more boxes from Ralph today. So I’m going to have another one of these. Will release it later though. I have some reviews to get through
@@TreeBeardBookReviews I heard you mention it in the video yeah, but I didn’t see it in the discord. You really hit the jackpot lol.
Those faceless covers are funny!
My wife said I was way to hard on them
I'm about 85% through endymion and I really like it a lot. I'm interested in those dinosaur books now.
They were super cool!
Robin Hobb is a great one! 🥰
And you got a Guy Gavriel Kay book!
I loved the art work on all the Hobb books
Heard good things about Cavern of Black Ice and J.V. Jones in general, I have that one too!
lots that i have not heard of
Passing on John Scalzi is a mistake
Haha, don't let Narsil know you passed up A Cavern of Black Ice (JV Jones)!
I kept it, I researched all the books afterwards with my wife. That one was a keep
