Yeah, I remember seeing previews of this game in magazines in 1997 / early 1998, before the game's release and being blown away by the screenshots. This game looked way better than Madden 64 and had the NFL license, unlike Madden 64. But despite that, Madden 64 did have better gameplay than this game.
I played the Tecmo Super Bowl games so much on the NES and SNES and got really good at them. It was hard for me to play a different football game that I was bad at when I knew I had another football game that I could win at. lol

Then got the SNES as a teen and bought the N64 and Play Station as an adult. I think they all have a different kind of fun to them. I think the NES is my favorite though because I have the most memories playing that one.

If I remember right you had to press Z again to bring up passing after snap. Then Left-C to catch the ball. Also to intercept. I played this religiously. I tried a few years back. I was horrible at it after being so acclimated to newer games.

This was the most realistic looking football game at that time....until sega dreamcast released in 99' and NFL 2K blew everything away graphically.

I loved this game. Only two things I hated was the QBs were extremely slow when they scrambled and running the ball up the middle was useless as hell.

Graphics hownstly look pretty damn good for that time, looks like it could be a ps2 or gamecube game.
Playstation use to hold other consoles back unless a game is build from the ground up for the stronger console
