i mean, post world war, this kind of thing happened /everywhere/. for the US, it was post ww2 that gave us our booming economy. and for korea, it was post korean war, which also happened during that same (general) time period. what's sad though is just how bad the disparity is. the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. and the fact that this generation of koreans have given up everything just to survive is so so heartbreaking. i really think gen z koreans are going to help break that mould. they seem like tough cookies. bts' political work is so so crazy. not only were they (lowkey threatened) by people in power who didn't want them to talk about this stuff, but they go DEEP with it. if you want more songs like this, i'd recommend 'spine breaker', 'ugh!', 'am i wrong', 'n.o', and even their debut single 'no more dream'. since day 1 they've been about having the conversations no one is confident enough to have and i love that for them. love your reactions, keep it up!!
It's interesting that a lot of their songs sound super fun, but turn out to be quite serious once you understand what they're really talking about. Quite a few of their mvs have explanation vids too. I recommend always looking up these explain videos! They blow your mind so much! Also, bby gang’s analysis of BTS albums and songs are utterly brilliant as well!
@@jonny.x Yes, anytime there is a BTS song that you think might have a deeper meaning they are a good resource or Bookish Theories =) Don't remember if you have reacted to DOPE, but there is the same phrase of OMPOSAEDAE or something like that there and that ties with BAPSAE too.

So cool you took a deeper look into this... not everyone scratches below the surface which means they often miss out on the fact BTS are actually talking about real social and eonomic issues. They have such a clever way of writing because even though they often write about serious issues they still capture with amazing catchy hooks to draw you in at surface level so whether you look deeper or not the song itself still bangs to get your attention... hope that makes sense lol 💜
As you can see BTS's songs are extremely deep. I'm so glad you decided to react to the explanation video. I hope you do it with the previous songs you've already reacted. Next LIVE Version??? YAAAY you did this one! Thank you and thank you for cranking out these reactions, you have been busy! Baepsae is my absolute favorite on all fronts, dance, music, message! But Ddaeng is right up close, and so is Am I wrong! Your channel is the best one I have found all year. Oh, and I agree with several other comments, first DKDKTV explanation, then a live performance any chance you can do them together. (e.g.UGH, Ddaeng, Idol)
Also, the DKDKTV video about the history of Kpop is a great intro, which might lead you into looking deeper into Sao Taiji, "the father of kpop", I think you would actually love him too.
I think you might like "Ddeang" by BTS (no official MV but a live performance) DKDKTV also has an explained. Same with "UGH" by BTS (no official MV but a live performance) and DKDKTV also has an explained video. I think people have said it but be careful with lyric/color coded videos because many of those rush the translations so that they can put out the video first and earn from the views so they don't really care if the translation is actually correct or cohesive. Anyways. BTS Lyrics are top tier. Always. I know it's not an upbeat song but "Spring Day" is a beautiful song. The visuals in the music video are amazing then when you watch the explanation video (I don't remember who made it but when you search explanation video, it's the top result) it transforms the song even more. Even their fan songs are normally really sweet but when you look at the back story to when the song was released, it just punches up the relevance of it. Thank you for your reactions. I hope more people give the guys a chance. They can really help you help yourself & make your life better if only you let them as well as let yourself.
You’re right! This is all really cool! All these explain videos are amazing! They blow up your perception of BTS again and again, and then you truly realize how BTS got so big! Because BTS take you from level 10 to 50 in one verse and you’re like 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 and then you’re freaking out about them to your friend and about the bands depth beyond the surface level they see and then you create a new ARMY and then BTS impact just spreads, person by person, until here we are today! Thank you so much for watching this!! There is a BTS song that also does the reverse and challenges the younger generation about how they treat the older generation. The music video for it is 'self made' (I don't know the background, but other ARMYs will) made up by BTS in a hotel somewhere...it may have been a challenge on an entertainment show. The song is called 'Spine Breaker'. I hope you'll finish the explanation for Daechwita because Suga is such a genius and another MUST (bring your tissues) is the DKDKTV explain for 'Spring Day'. Thank you again for the deeper dive...as an ARMY it means so much to me to understand how brilliant their songwriting is. It's what sets them apart from so many other groups. Halmoni
3:58 Tbh doolsetbangtan does one of the best translations for korean to english. Unfortunately, they only have a wordpress website and does not do lyric videos (as far as I know). Lyric videos on youtube are pretty good (high rate of mistakes though due to them rushing to upload) to learn the members' faces with their voices though.
This song is a banger but the lyrics is really what makes it. And it applies to millennials all across the world as we are all facing the same problem.
Think about it this way: any country that has been touched/influenced by the way the United States financial system and the way it deals with the masses will most likely experience the same financial turmoil that we have.
A couple more great songs to watch the DKDKTV explanations for are “Ugh!” And “Ddaeng.” I also recommend their explanations for “Persona,” “Shadow,” and “Ego.” “Daechwita” is another good one. They all have tons of wordplay and deeper meanings than are obvious on the surface level.
So, when Korea gained their independence from Japanese imperial rule and then after the Korean War they structured the majority of their society and government based on the USA (this is especially true after they became fully democratic in the late 80's) so it's no surprise that their economic situation tends to mirror ours.
If you like this song a lot, you'll like their song N.O and No More Dream. I think it's better to watch their concert version of these songs with English sub. Type 'hyyh bts N.O eng' on RUclips. They have the same concert version of No More Dream but I couldn't find it.
Passion Pay- to explain it further, it isn’t like internships. Let’s say you’re a computer analyst, and you get hired by a company. But the company hires you as a part-time (no benefits, no opportunity to go up, no healthcare, no nothing) which is 24hrs a week. But they exploit you to work 18 hrs a day with no overtime pay. If you refuse or complain, there are about 10 other people ready to take your spot.
Omg! Tysm for watching Baepsae Explained by a Korean! DKDKTV Explained vids are awesome! ie: 1. “Ddaeng” and Ddaeng Explained by a Korean 2. “Idol” & Idol Explained by a Korean 3. “Spine Breaker” & Spinebreaker Explained by a Korean 4. “UGH!” & UGH! Explained by a Korean Perhaps you would consider double~headers?
DKDKTV also has a video for "Idol". This one isn't appreciated enough, but it analyzes the music video. I would love to hear what you have to say about it. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Although I would say that I think that DKDKTV’s Idol is great for explaining the cultural references but misses a lot of the others, such as the fact that even the clothes they are wearing, the glasses etc have significance.
Heads up if you ever react to BTS's song, _Dis-ease:_ the *DKDKTV explained video* for the song is on the *VisitSeoul TV* channel bc it was a collab with the channel.

Can you react to “BTS vs Kpop” by bby gang. His videos are utterly phenomenal, and I’d love it if you could check out his other videos out as well about Kpop & BTS. They are so well-researched and non biased. He does the work that so many western reporters don’t when researching and explaining BTS and Kpop. He encapsulates so well how truly phenomenal BTS is in the Kpop industry, the pop industry, and the music industry as a whole. It helps that with how well he does his research, he shows so much respect for eastern concepts and their impact on the western world. It’s beautiful. One of the best Kpop/BTS videos I have ever seen.

I’m glad you enjoyed this. I hope you will check out Ddaeng (no mv) and it’s explanation video by the same guys (dkdktv).
Yess please also do to the explanation for agust D - Daecwhita . Its 🤯🤯
live version next....
Please react to "Joke" by RM it is really a masterpiece
Baepsae performance next?
1:18 .:) :) :) :)
Omg! Tysm for watching Baepsae Explained by a Korean! DKDKTV Explained vids are awesome!
ie:
1. “Ddaeng” and Ddaeng Explained by a Korean
2. “Idol” & Idol Explained by a Korean
3. “Spine Breaker” & Spinebreaker Explained by a Korean
4. “UGH!” & UGH! Explained by a Korean
Perhaps you would consider double~headers?
Does anyone remember RM's verse in Dope " Samposede... Ohmposede" translated as " Given up on 3.. Given up on 5" OMG my mind has been blown! Literally I watched the explanation video 10000 times but today I got what RM said in Dope 😵 Is it just me who is this dumb!?
I rely on DKDKTV for theories and explanations. Watch DKDKTV explanation of Daechwita, you'll appreciate it even more
Anytime that channel offers an explanation video WATCH IT.
That one white guy, I think is a famous actor called Michael Palin who has done documentaries, he’s from England and is pretty well known over here but it looks funny 😂💜
lol thats awesome how did you know that?!?!
@@jonny.x just recognised his face he used to be on a lot of British tv, I’m literally now watching your reaction to the live, Thankyou for your time and effort with making these videos 🙏🏻💜
@@sophie7051Do you mean Michael Palin from Monty Python? That’s definitely not him, but maybe you mean someone else. Python’s Michael Palin has done so many travel documentaries and series over the years that I thought it could be him, but it’s not.
@@jg7afbf I thought it looked like him from the 80’s he did a documentary on North Korea and I thought it looked like a piece of footage from that (in South Korea), side note, I love monty python 😂 I definitely recognise that bloke though, not sure where from now if it’s not him 🤷🏼♀️
Love your reaction video!!! 👍 One of the best explained videos for BTS MVs for me was Spring Day. Please react to it when you have a chance! 💜
I just want to say when you named it “internship”, that was also skewed by your culture. In Europe unpaid internships are uncommon, in some countries even illegal. Working without pay is not supposed to be normal.
Hey sir ,please react to BTS " Dimple & Pied piper " live performance , thanks
Ugh and daechwita has explanations here at dkdktv as well. The explanation for spring day will make you sick.
can you react also to Spine Breaker M/V and the explanation by DKDKtv..
If you are looking for reliable explanations, DKDKTV and Bookish Theories are the best out there IMO
React ddaeng pls
Hi, please, please react to IDOL explained by a Korean (DKFK TV) is so interesting, really. Thanks for your reactions 😊⚘
6:49 Why do you keep looking around like this throughout the whole video? You look like a crazy person...
checking phone when looking down, checking second monitor for live stream chat, checking other monitor to make sure my software is capturing the correct stuff. you’ll see me do that in every video :)
I love DKDKTV. I know that I’ll get hate but I like David better.
😳me too but maybe because David's voice is smoother 🤔but the two of them are doing their best
I like David better too, lol ... I thought that was a pretty common sentiment?
I actually don't have a preference but I do see each of them differently.
That was my thought too but watching some of their lives, people are fanning over Danny.
@@cnot4948, they are both great and very informative.
Please react to this is bts army by xceleste and the most beautiful life goes on by Asian theory
For songs please watch am I wrong?
It's also a political song
Also listen to jump it's one of my favorites 😍.
You nice keep going
i already did it! ruclips.net/video/NoXbBukBe78/видео.html u nice.. keep goin!
@@jonny.x oops my bad I'll check it out. Sorry and thank you
Much love from india
all those color coded lyrics videos have many mistakes in them since they literally rush into posting them minutes after the songs release just to get views they don't care about accuracy
Us millenials are so sick of being told to work harder when clearly we work hard as fck every day and still cant manage to get financially stable
deff need to sign up once i get some extra money not going to BTS lol BIGHIT get it ALL lol hahahha
lolol army is life right? btw @roxanne - live stream in about 10 minutes if you want to join
