Love the no talk, no bs, no useless 30 minute chatter on a 5 minute job.
Very first step in all of plumbing. Cover the drain so screws and such don't fall down the drain. Thank you for the detailed video. Exactly what I needed.
Wow. Literally best video ever. You didn't say a word just fixed it and displayed how easy it is. Rather than talk for 20 mins then fix it. Thank you sir I truly appreciate it.
My lever just broke too, was just going to replace the plate but now shooting for the whole replacement while it’s apart.
Can’t imagine the money I would have spent without RUclips. I’m sure some people have created handy man businesses based off of it. Thanks
Best one of the videos on fixing the lever type drain stopper. No BS intros or silly music. Let's the camera linger on the part so you can get oriented. Very nice work Asquaregarden!
I’ll take it. Thank you Sir.
So I don’t need any caulking around the top of that stopper? Thanks for the video
I like to watch multiple videos when I'm doing a repair. This was great. Showed the details of replacing the cotter pin. Much appreciated.
Exactly, the other thing I was trying to see if the bell slides back an forth..or is mine broken as it it is not set in place at middle??
I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS SO EASY!!!! I’ve dealt with a broken one for 10 years! Thank you so much!!!
I am glad it helped. What is your next project?
Same here water still drains regardless of levers position so I been using a rubber stopper
@@jaredharris1970 there's a threaded part on the inside of the piece that he pulled out in the video. You have to adjust it to get the bottom piece to block the water coming in at the drain. It's most likely off just enough to let the water in your tub drain.
look up how to adjust a bathtub stopper. This should help you out.
@@J-0ooo0-P thank u
Yep. Thanks. No silly dialogue... no unnecessary 20 minute intro... no shaky camera... no "got this on amazon for $10..." Thanks much.
You’re welcome.
This is why RUclips was created for, thank you 🙏 for sharing.
My favorite kind of video, all action and no blabbing...thanks, excellent video!
OMG! OMG! OMG! This is the best video ever and why the internet exists for me! I grew weary of waiting for my husband to fix the drain. I DID IT MYSELF for $12 and 10 minutes! Thank you!
Best comment ever!
Omg, just the fact that there was no speaking in this video, I had to subscribe!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!
I Loved how you made this video with visuals ONLY! Nice work!!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video I fixed my bathtub in 5 minutes for $10 . 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Nothing better than that feeling of getting it done yourself.
Me too!
Thanks for the video! Just fixed my leaky tub with this video
Before I even go ANY further.... I'm just saying, this is the FIRST DIY plumbing video I've EVER seen with a fancy sweater... lol 😅
Lol. The T-shirt and visible butt crack outfit is for apprentices. Then it goes to fancy sweater and Tuxedo for masters.
Lol😂😅
Well, the lever just broke off of ours after 50 years of rust, so I'm going to be using this video today. Thank you.
Mine was about the same age.
Had the same problem use a wire hanger with a small bend at the end to lift up drain stopper
I'm a visual learner and loved this clip! Not a lot of blah, blah, blah and to the point! Walla! Done!
Glad it helped.
Best video ever. No yammering or blathering.
I’ll take it.
#1 ... make sure drain is blocked in case you accidentally drop a screw.
Oops, wish i read this first. 😂
Perfect! Just what we needed! Action speaks louder than words! Thank you!
❤️
also people who know any language can understand this video.
Thanks, you just saved me a $100 trip charge for a 5 minute job!!!
That makes me really happy.
Thank you soooo much! The best dyi vid, clear and to the point!
Thank you so much for a straight to the point video!!
Thank you so much. I am clueless about these things but you've given me the confidence to tackle this by myself !
I am glad it helped. It makes me happy I made this video.
Perfect! Just what I need to fix my tub. Thanks!
Thank you for the instructions. It was very informative. I am going to replace mine today in both bathrooms.
I just did mine! Should've RUclips you first. The old pin broke. I had the new drain stopper 🤷🏾♀️ Don't know the name! So, the new pin wouldn't work with the old stopper. So I rigged the new pin to work! AFTER I finished my smart mind, realized how the weight actually worked! I wasn't going to undo it. It works, but I definitely 👍🏼 the video
Thank you for making this video! Mine needs replaced and now thanks to you I know what to do!
Perfect. Thank you. Short and sweet...and cross off another item on the Honey Do list!
I am glad it helped.
Great how to. Straight to the point, no blah blah blah. 👍
You rock for not talking for an additional 25 minutes like many do
I appreciate it.
Thanks my dad is a plumber and never cared to teach me this so it’s been a big mystery until now
This is exactly what is wrong with my tub. I don't understand why people are telling me trap door? Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
I just replaced it by following you and it was a SUCCESS! Thank You for sharing!😃👍
Congratulations. What is the next project?
@@asquaregarden I don't have anything right now however when I do you'll be the first I look up😃
Great video, also fixed it in five minutes for ten dollars, thanks so much
asquaregarden THANKS FOR SHARING I actually forgot how these worked I couldn't remember if the entire rod assembly had to be changed as well but you clarified that for me I also need to change my shower diverter when I pull up on lever it takes about 30 seconds or so for the water to make it's way up to shower head OLD HOUSE AND PROBABLY ALOT OF MINERAL BUILD UP THANKS AGAIN!!
Your work is never done when you have an old house. And when you have a new one it's just a matter of time .
Your video works beautifully For what I needed to know
Thanks for this. Exactly what I needed to see.
Have not finished the video but I already want to thank you. I also subscribed. Thank you very much.
You are welcome.
Thanks a lot. Very easy to fix and you help big time!
Good video. Short, concise, and right to the point. My drain lever broke off at the linkage, and the stopper fell to the bottom, blocking the drain water in the tub all the time. To the hardware store I go...
It broke off on my tub too.. How did you get it out?
@@willc2358 This is what I did, at may not work for others. First, remove the lever plate from the tub, two screws. Then, remove the drain trap from under the tub, this unscrews from both ends. Be prepared to have to replace drain parts if they are metal, have been there for years and are rusted out. Next, have a partner push up the broken off plunger piece with a thin rod or mechanic's wire, until you can grab and remove it from the tub opening.
I’m a woman who just bought a house!! Thank you for helping me do this on my own!!!
Congratulations on the house and the fix.
Thank you! This is exactly what I needed to know how to do!!
Thx Brother for a perfect video. I just followed step by step & replaced it. Thx
Thank you. Very helpful!
Thank you for this video! It was super helpful!
Thank you for the excellent demo. Now a totally non handyman like myself can do this without calling a plumber
excellent video. i just had a plumber come by and wanted $500 or more he said. depending on how hard it was to take out the stopper.
Thank you! clear to the point!
Thanks, this video really helped me.
Thanks this was soooo helpful.
I am glad it helped.
Exactly what I needed. Thank you
U r a knight in shining armor I have had a knife opening and closing my drain for a whole year thanks fir this video!!!
If you have the trip lever bucket in place to fill the tub with water, how does the overflow work? It appears to go down the same pipe that is blocked. I’m contemplating removing the bucket and just installing a manual drain.
Thank You Sir, I was gonna replace the whole thing, now i know I only need the Face Plate
Thanks. Just what I needed to see!
Thanks for the video!!! Very helpful
Thanks it was very easy and it fixed mine!!
Thank you so much ! for this video your did help me can fixed about bathtub drain lever trip cover
Good, this was the video I was looking for. Thanks!
perfect "how to" video for this easy fix.
Thank you! I will save this video !!
Ty, I needed to know where to put cotta pin.also, if your bell weight piece is set in a loop in the middle or floating across..mine is floating left to right..not set in middle
.wondering if this caused the jam.
Thank you so much! This tutorial will help me a lot 😀
Thanks for this-- Never did this before so when I pulled on the mechanism and the whole thing came out, I didn't see how it would go back in (without having to be re-attached on the inside somehow)-- So apparently the stopper (metal cylinder) just plain drops back into place? I thought something inside fell apart and I was going to have to call a plumber to rip the whole tub out. I will replace the lever tomorrow-- Thanks for helping me de-stress!
So easy! Thank you.
Excellent, thank you 👍.
Ahhhhhhhh! I get it! Now I know what I did wrong. Thanks for "explaining". Job well done.
Thank you this video help me a lot
thank you now I'm trying this. I was sooooo tired of that tub!!!
I know how you feel. My son likes to take the plug out of the drain so without the stopper there is no water.
Great video clip! Thank you!
You are welcome.
Thank you super simple.. now to fix mine
Outstanding! And no smarmy dialog or background hipster music to boot. 5 Starts!!
That gave me a good laugh. Thank you.
It's very helpful in case u need little help.
Not a lot of chit-chat. Love it!
Thank you so much.....simple to the point.......my turn.
Good job you helped me 😊❤
Thank you! I had no idea that's how these things worked!
Thanks.. Hadn't done it in years, had to again
Wow 😳, I love DIY videos!!
So do I! That’s why I figured I would do my part and contribute.
You make it look easy. Gonna try this tomorrow
That is just the magic of the motion picture. But in truth as long as nothing is completely broken you can easily do it. You got this!
@@asquaregarden 🤞it is a quick fix!
Thanks for the intel!
Perfect Video Thank You
I’ll take perfect.
Are the steps the same if mine has a rocker flip instead of the knob thing?
Better than This Old House👍
Volodymyr Yakovliv no
Thank you. Got it done
Good job.
Does this just glide straight back in or is there some fanagaling to this. Thx
This is straight forward so I'm gonna do this tomorrow. Ours is old and rusted and the water can't drain out of our tub.
U r awesome!!!!
This person makes it look so easy... But mine is fully stuck in there. I don't want to pull too hard, but can't get it out!
Wait… so the “pin” that broke off… is that a new pin that has to be purchased separately Or did it come with the new stopper?
I’m going to re-watch this video because I’m fixing my stopper tomorrow thanks to you!!! You make me believe I can actually do this myself! 😂
Thank you sooooooooo much for the video! 😊 ♥️
For VISUAL learners!! No talking just doing!! Thank you!!!! I don’t need all the EXTRA word salad! Just show me!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
THANK YOU!
Thanks; watched this before I took my drain apart.
What do you do if the overflow mechanism does not go back in the hole?
Thank you!!
how do i find out the height i need to do the parts under the lever our tub is not draining but i cant figure out the height i need
If yhese piece.break, will that prevent the water from going down the drian? Im a complete novice on plumbing.
