Rote Island Surf - T Land - The Best left-hander in Indonesia by far!
If you love a left then this is the place for you. Situated on the South-Eastern side of the Indonesian Islands sits ROTE Island. It's quite the journey from Australia consisting of 3 flights and a layover in Denpasar but it absolutely worth the 2 days to get there.
Once you arrive, there is a number of places to stay where the best surf is. We had the pleasure of staying at an amazing T Land Resort. This place had everything. Amazing 3-course meals all-inclusive, Cocktail bar, Surfboard hire, AC in all the rooms, Swimming pool, and views right out front to the famous left that can break along 400m of the reef when all three sections line up! There are boats to take you where ever you want to go...Other breaks we surfed were SUCKIES (An A-Frame that barrelled deep on take off but is more of a right)
BOA - (A right-hander that just keeps walling up with plenty of speed and barrel section) Also if you want to visit the deserted island about an hour away the snorkeling is superb. The staff from T land Resort took us over for a half-day where we snorkeled crystal clear waters and a packed lunch and drinks. We also walked around the island and took some amazing photos. If you're a non-surfer T Land Resort is the place for you. It's by the far the nicest and well-equiped resorts that we saw during our time there.
It's the most beautiful place I have ever visited!
