Nice video! It's really fun and simple to program it! Just like the TR-707 which I already have for about 24 years.Such machines trigger the creativity in you: you can really make cool rhythms. The sound of the low tom is fantastic on the 606! Someone here on You Tube talked about changing something inside the 606 to make effect on the hi-hats.Can you tell me in detail more about it or show it in a video what you must change inside the 606? If you know about that? Thanx in advance! Greetz Jason
Can you explain the difference between pattern chain and when you go into "track mode" ? I do not own a 606 but isn't that pretty much the same fonction, aside of the fact that you can chose which pattern plays in what order ? just asking, because not sure I understood! Thank you :)
So the track mode works same as holding one to four on pattern mode with the difference that you can be with your order and not necessarily 1234. Is there any way that it changes the patterns on track mode whenever you want with pressing next?
Hey Paul, can you make another video showing how to use the different timing options to make shuffle and whatnot? Or just send me a message via email... I got my 606 working just fine (after I turned the sync switch to the correct position lol) but I'm not quite sure how to program in drum parts using the 4-way switch...
Hi! I'm trying to program a track as you do from around 6mins on - though I follow the steps you have (track write, choose track, pattern clear, RUN/STOP etc.) the pattern plays straight off when I press RUN/STOP and continues when I press WRITE/NEXT. The light starts jumping to other patterns on it's own. When I play the track it's nothing like what I've tried to do and seems to choose where to go at random! Do you reckon it's faulty or am I doing something wrong? Other functions work fine.
Yes, and it's fairly clear to anyone who isn't an idiot. It's been six years since you typed that stupid comment, and you haven't had a single upvote. Boom.
Great video! Short, sweet, and to the point! Thank you.
thanks for the video mate, you saved me from reading Roland's fucking convoluted manual!

Thank you!
I've been losing my mind trying to figure out Track Mode.
I keep forgetting that it needs to be running.

If you sync slave your 606 you can use the tempo to control decay on OH
