OMG that "stake" is actually Kobe or at least Wagyu, the best beef in the whole world in terms of flavor, tenderness, and fatty, well-marbled texture. Available only in Japan (with quite few exceptions).
My favorite part was you eating with this family! because i love that feeling that I get when I'm in a foreign country and get to share a real local meal with locals and they tell you all about the food, the traditions, etc and for a few minutes/hours, you don't feel like a tourist anymore...you feel like a local..not sure if that's how you felt but i loved that moment! That's the best part of travelling: discovering something new all the time!
cindirelli24 I completely agree! The family dinner is exactly the moments a cherish most while traveling - getting to know a place through the people who call it home. Thanks for watching!!
This is why I like living in Asia a lot because relaxation, spas and massage are part of the local culture and not an expensive privilege for rich people like in Western countries. I was shocked to see how expensive massages were in Europe.
Japanese people always impress me with their hospitality and attention to all the small things. They find joy in w/e they do and that's awesome! Great video as always.
Been in the hotel business for 15+ years, worked for Hilton, Marriott, Wynn, Bellagio, you name it and stayed in dozens of fine hotels - best experience I've ever had = Sheraton Tokyo Disney. Awesome video!
Matthew Deal I find Hotels not that great... some are dirty... they may seem clean but I'm sensitive to un cleanliness... my body can tell when something isn't clean... my skin starts to act when something is dirty ... I stayed in a Hotel I will not name and I left from there... dirty dirty ... and some even dont do a good job at cleaning
Best hotels I've stayed in The Vendome Suite @The Ritz, A suite across from The Peninsula Suite @The Penninsula Hong Kong, and The Peabody Hotel in Memphis. Trust me, I've stayed in some real dumps too! I stayed at the Conrad Tokyo, which was very nice. Unfortunately, the Peninsula was not open yet.
I love Japan, Such a beautiful country. And culture. You are so well taken care of there. The more that I think about my times in Japan, the more I fall in love with it and miss it.
Nozawa Onsen is 20minutes far from my home town. I really appreciate that many tourists come from all over the world to visit the place where I was grow up.
My first onsen was in Okinawa. The volcanic hot springs mineral water was wonderful. I was the only non-Okinawan there, and towered over all the other women. They giggled...a lot! There had family baths upstairs, that my husband and I used frequently.
Your videos are so addicting, especially these Japanese ones. I love Japanese culture & traveling/exploring Japan is on my bucket list! Your videos are giving me so many ideas on where to go when I eventually make it there❤️
I really like your style. You seem to be humble, curious and open for everything. Your videos ar easy to enjoy and very relaxing! Great job and keep doing what you're doing!
At first I felt very unconfident when was at onsen hotel but finally I took off all clothes and went into the tub. It is very amazing experience and I will never feel shy again next time. Love Japan 🇯🇵 I also have one VDO enjoying onsen at Takaragawa.
I absolutely love Japanese food so to even sit down and eat all of that food whilst washing it down with sake in japan would be a dream come true of mine.
When I went to Japan, going to an Onsen was one of the things I was looking forward but did not get the chance. Now seeing your video I regret not going. Thank you for all the great videos you make. I need to travel more often.
I really enjoyed this video for two reasons. The way things are here in America right now it is so nice to see smiling happy and welcoming people in a quaint little world that seems very peaceful. The other of course is Gareth seems to be a well spoken globetrotter that is very easy on the eyes.
I went to Nozawa 2 years ago. Being in quarantine now, seeing this video was like being there again. Nice mini-mental vacation, great video, stirred up a lot of fantastic memories. Thanks for that.
You've inspired Me to start going swimming again at my local YMCA. I'm super envious of Youu going into those bathhouses. They look refreshing and relaxing.
I've been to Toyko three times, always-on business. I would like to take a vacation there and learn more about the culture vs the city life. My experience is that not too many Japanese speak English (why would they) but are super polite and clean.
Wow! This sure brings back wonderful memories of my trips to Japan. After my onsen experiences, I slept so well and felt so clean. I can't wait to do it again. Thanks, Gareth!
- Sitting in hot water is something I would love to do every day. I have been in the rustic parts of Vietnam, now, for the last 4 months. I haven't had a hot shower or felt hot water in that amount of time. The closest I have come is the hot water in my Soup. Nuts. Keep enjoying Japan!
I've always yearned to visit Japan and this video didn't help this need lol. The food looked amazing, the bath houses looked amazing... Thumbs up all around. I can't wait to go. Thanks for the vid
Thank you so much for watching! I completely understand, Japan has been on my wish list for five years!! Hopefully you will have the chance to visit some day soon!
what an incredible educational video and your voice and speaking where great (not missing that you look super great too lol) and the video package excellent quality have subscribed and hope to see more of your journeys thanks Michael
I love the snow and the traditional bath! My favourite part was the dinner! I would love to try some or all of those dishes :) You look great in Japanese clothes! :) It suits you.
loved this video. my wife and I stayed in Japan for two weeks and we almost always ended up in an onsen somewhere and eating awesome food. I think this video perfectly captured that world traveler excitement of experiencing something new. Especially the kaiseki dinner. We stayed at a Ryokan our last night and we had no clue what to wear or how to wear it, had the same problem getting all dressed and then having to go to the bathroom, and then having more weird food placed in front of us than any one person should probably eat. Admittedly, not all of it was good but the entire experience was a roller coaster of surprises, both in taste and aesthetics. Several times the chef fooled us by making food look and feel like like something completely different. The dessert showed that pretty well..."it's something like tofu but weirder and with pineapple...ok i was totally wrong - just apple stuff" haha. Love your videos man, makes me really want to go back.

and in the process you destroy local culture because of your EGO which is the size of Texas.
