  • The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is currently investigating two related business burglaries. The first burglary occurred during the early morning hours of Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Best Buy Mobile store located at 2350 North Federal Highway in the City of Fort Lauderdale. The second burglary occurred on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at approximately 5:00 A.M. at the Best Buy Mobile store located at 1489 Southeast 17th Street in the City of Fort Lauderdale.
    During the first burglary, the unknown suspects gained access into the business by cutting a hole in the roof. Upon gaining entry into this business, the culprits forcibly opened cases containing various electronic devices. The suspects were ultimately successful in removing approximately $30,000 worth of electronic devices.
    In the second burglary, the unknown suspects gained access into the business by smashing a hole in the wall of the neighboring business. The store surveillance captured the suspects forcibly opening cases containing various electronic devices. The suspects fled the business removing approximately $90,000 worth of electronic devices.
    Security surveillance from the second location captures the suspects crawling through the hole in the wall to enter business.
    Fort Lauderdale Police Department Property Crimes Detectives believe these burglaries are linked to similar incidents in the City of Largo, Florida.
