Fun Fact: Pakistan mein retailers apne available stock ki phones ki IMEI capture kar dety hein before selling (especially low priced keypad phones ki) then afterwards wo IMEI miss use karty hein (to patch non PTA handsets) Nateeja, jis gharib ne wo PTA approved phone poore pese de ke shop se liya hota hai wo phone bhi future mein PTA ki taraf se block kar diya jata hai, showing the reason: ke aap ki IMEI duplicate hai, halanke us bichare customer ka koi qasoor nahin hota.

@@ashrafmalik3366 I also experienced the very same problem sometime ago, shop wale se bat karny se koi faida na hoga because no shopkeeper will admit such mishap, furthermore, even PTA has no effective solution for this problem.. I also threw my nokia phone in dustbin when sims stopped working due to this problem.
But following measures may be taken to minimise this problem:
1. Companies ki taraf se box pe IMEI mention karna band kiya jaye.
2. Kisi reliable online store se phones mangwai jaen because ye practice local market mein zyada dekhi gai hai.

The root cause is the PTA registration of mobile phones. Nowhere in the world this Phone registration and blocking system is implemented to blackmail its citizens and exort money in the guise of taxes.
This is whole story is because of PTA registration fraud hatched by the Pakistan Govt to sqeeze the poor people and extract large tax to subsidize the top elite and corrupt class of Pakistan.
