Another beautiful drive, you could spend hours walking around those small towns. Thanks Russ. 👍👍
Hey Russ!!!"LOOKING " Great!!! Put the"CUCKOO" on "THE BEAST"!!! Be Safe!!!
That's where my Little Guy teardrop trailer was manufactured.
Clark Griswald would be proud of you finding that giant cuckoo clock. Great video Russ, love the small towns and back roads. 117 degrees in Quartzsite, ouch. Journey on !!
just missing the family truckster
Thanks Russ! My wife and I love Amish country. We live about an hour away we go often Thanks for taking it very cool
Russ, I am from Michigan and love traveling thru Ohio. Never have been here. It looks very interesting, it reminds me of Frankenmuth which is north of Detroit. It is a little Bavaria. I like Ohio because the people are very Midwestern. They are very nice and hard working.
Susan,, Frankenmuth pretty cool place
👍👍,,,,My children loved camping in Michigan,,,,Ludington State Park many memories there,,,🥂👌
@@joemorrow7691 I have a feeling that Russ is going to stop at Ludington State Park because of the Lighthouse. He said that he is going to visit the lighthouses in Michigan. That tells me that he is going spend a lot of time in Michigan, because there are 115 lighthouses in Michigan. I grew up Detroit and there are 3 lighthouses in Metro Detroit alone.
Trees were not Dogwood , actually a type of hydrangea. Bushes grow tall so they appear to be trees. It’s OK. We forgive you, desert boy. 💕
Great vid of my back yard, sort of. You drove by the home of Nucamp, some of the best travel trailers you can buy. Amish built for the most part. Some good food in that town as well. This town is packed with tourists in the summer and fall on the weekends.
we have an Amish community close by I love going through
Also don’t miss the cheese factory in Berlin Ohio they make 50 different varieties and flavors of cheese you can watch them make it right there
heineys chees house
@@scottlin7876 that’s right when I was in grade school that place was a field trip good memories lol
Russ don’t miss Lehman’s hardware in Kidron Ohio it’s a must see lots of things to see there interesting
YES YES YES GO TO LEMANS ... must do !!!!
Yes! Lehman's Hardware Store should not be missed by anyone traveling through Ohio's Amish country. I think your fans would have enjoyed a more close up look of what the shops have to offer as well as all of the wonderful bakery goods, and what about the Amish restaurants?! You always give a 'view from the sidewalk,' but I know I would enjoy a bit more behind the scenes type of thing. For those who like bicycling, there is a wonderful 15 mile long bike trail through Amish country called Holmes County Trail. It's paved and even shared by Amish buggies. I suggest to folks, getting off the beaten path and taking some trips down the Amish country roads. You get a great look at the farms, animals and people. I've pulled off the side of the road to watch the farmers and their work horses, working the land. Quite a sight to behold! And, keep in mind when traveling in Amish country be respectful of not taking photos of the Amish people, unless of course, you have their permission.
It turned into a giant tourist trap. I was very disappointed. Should be called Lehmanns sweets and clothing. Not evan close to a hardware store
Yay theres flowers and birds are churpn' yay☺
Hi Russ, those were Japanese Lilac trees. They smell really pretty.
Another beautiful small towns & video. Thanks Russ 🚐
Hope to get back that way in the fall! My fave!!
Hey did you know there’s some of that black stuff in the roadway. Amish horse emissions lol Enjoy your travel with the green grass and green trees
You’re in my neck of the woods come back towards the north on 250 in a little town called Savannah, Ohio enjoy the Amish don’t forget to stop and eat a good home cooked meal. Be safe
I lived in Holmes County for 15 years.
What a neat video! I live a little over an hour east of here, and I've visited all the same places, but haven't been back for five or six years. I'm a Marylander by birth, but I do love Ohio. it's a great place to live.
Bellísimos lugares. un saludo desde campos de Salto-Buenos Aires State-ARGENTINA.--
Beautiful area, didn't see any horse poop, great timing, thanks for the ride.
AKA road apples
Thought I was subscribed already 😯 just did it. I'm so jealous of ur vehicle and road trips lol. Thank God for RUclips
Omg How Cute ur sayings, for 1 too cool for school!! Thankyou from bottom of my heart for this stellar video!!😁
Yay is spot on!😅😁
We Love RVerTV - Best TV On RUclips. Thank you Russ.
I live about 30 minutes from sugarcreek and I've heard of the giant clock but never visited it but definitely thinking about it now😎👌
Loved the coocoo clock!!
I remember seeing that clock in the 1990s when it was on top of the restaurant/gift shop they charged a $1 admittance fee to 9ffset the maintenance of the clock. They had a little area on the roof with benches so you could sit and watch.
Just south of Sugar Creek is a railroad company that does excursions.
NuCamp travel trailers are made inSugar Creek… Amish cabinet makers make the high quality interiors.
Hi Russ, because of your video my wife and I checked out the clock on Friday June 25. We also toured the museum up the street. Thanks for filming this backroads town.
Russ you're in my backyard, 2 hr away. Green grass sure is a great. Alpine village in Helen, Ga would really impress you and your followers. Ten times larger. All buildings are Alpine. Have fun, see you soon. Lol
Looked on streetview, wow!
Use to be part of the Alpine Cheese Factory owned by my late great aunt. Was such a fun place to visit! The restaurant had cuckoo clocks/miniature trains covering the walls. and train
I loved that Cuckoo Clock
It's a shame you couldn't have been in that area back before the newer tourist traps popped up. As these places (referred to by many as "The Circus") drew attention away from he old Swiss villages, especially Sugar Creek. The train ride, the music box shop, the hobby shop...So many things, along with the best dining in the region, are now gone. It has dried up as the "plastic" world of the circus has become the focus of attention.
The cuckoo clock, of course, was originally at Alpine Alpa, which was a wonderful place near Wilmot on Route 62. The food was great there, too, and the cheese Alpine Lace Swiss Cheese from the adjacent cheese house was excellent. But, it too is but a distant memory as the tourist traps along the highway have taken over. While Sugar Creek is still a lovely town, you are seeing only the remnants of what downtown was once like.
I visited Alpine Alpa many times in my youth to get our cheese and trail bologna. It was so out of place seeing the clock in the middle of town as opposed to the alpine theme building where it was located. The whole atmosphere is different. We often visited my dad's hometown of Millersburg to see Grandma. It is so commercialized now.
Thanks Russ! Enjoyed the video.
Your living the dream and taking us with you
Jerry Jacobsen who used to own The Ohio Central RR ran steam excursion train from that depot. He built an authentic roundhouse south of Sugar Creek. Lookup Age of Steam Roundhouse.
Very cool Russ 😎
Adorable & lovely. The lady piece must be happy when it is 1:00 pm. Lol Happy Fathers Day Russ
The little town of Charm👍👍
Great video
Frankenmuth Michigan Glockenspiel
you could turn that rain into views. some rain videos have millions of views as people love them, including me. heavy rain is an opportunity, no loops though. love your videos, thanks.
Those flowering trees are Buckeye Trees. The last time I saw the Cuckoo Clock was around 1980. It was housed for many years at the "Alpine Alpa" Cheese Factory in Wilmot, Ohio. I guess moving it made sense...more people can see it this way...I just don't like change.
I was also at Alpine Alpa in the early 80's. It was also a restaurant. The servers dressed in old time German outfits. I think it's a truck depot now.
@@scottlin7876 I remember that now...although I never ate inside there. I loved there cheese and trail balogna. Ahhh...good memories...god times.
Beautiful place! I know I'm late to the party again. Hahaha....Always a great Videos!Stay Safe!!
Thanks! You too!
Sugarcreek, Ohio. ....wow, what a lovely town and area. Happy place :o)
There's no reason to leave the USA. Great video, really enjoyed it 👍
I could stay there all day to!🙊☺😁
Nice to see you enjoying the area. About 20 min from us. Beautiful area.
Great series going through Amish Country. I used to live and work in Holmes County and enjoy seeing your videos. I remember when the Cuckoo Clock used to be located at Alpine Alpa and I lived next door to the former owners. Great video.
Hour and a half to the lake...great location!
🙋♀️ Hello Russ! A very dear friend of mine lived in Steubenville, but worked with me in Pittsburgh, Pa. I loved seeing the Giant Cuckoo Clock. Loved it! Nice drone shot of the land. Beautiful area. I love the Amish Country too. I have really enjoyed this years virtual vacation. Dearly loved last years. Sure love being different. 👍
Your in my area now. Loudonville, Ohio. Canoeing Capital of Ohio. Enjoy following your posts
the clock was wonderful
What a quaint town!! Enjoying following your travels! 😊💙
This looks quite neat
I love Sugarcreek! Just up the road is Walnut creek, Love it there too! Happy Travels Russ! 😎
Another good video, the clock was really cool, thanks Russ
That was fun! What a nice town. That clock is so precious. Thanks!😊👍
As a Swiss guy I defintely have to go there and visit the beautiful village and surrounding of Sugarcreek. It looks so amazing! I was in Berne (Indiana) and New Bern (North Carolina), Sugarcreek is next, If I can travel to the US again.... Thanks for all your travel videos, Russ!
My real name is Michael McCluskey New Philadelphia and Dover is down south of Canton Ohio on I-77 where I live. I did live in Millersburgh from 1977 to 1981. Millersburgh was the capital city of Holmes County. The court house had a railing for the Amish and Mennonites to park their horse drawn buggies.
Been there done that yea !
Banked for a quiet Sunday Morning!
It's really nice to watch giant cuckoo clock, the stone work and also the road side small museum sir i ❤❤❤ it pretty cool.....
Great tour! GPS.... I remember the day of planning a trip using paper maps and brochures then driving with the map on the steering wheel. A lot fewer wrong turns nowadays. Safe travels.
When traveling by motorcycle if I don't know the area I still take an atlas.
Don’t forget about rock and roll hall of fame
I loved the Cukoo Clock. What a nice town, Sugar Creek, Ohio. I wonder what kind of trees with big white flowers dotted the main street? Thanks for the ride, along, Russ. I enjoyed it.
Enjoy the weather, Russ. Lake Havasu City, AZ hit 120°F yesterday.
Hope you ate at one of the many Amish Buffet Restaurants in the area. Ohio has the second largest Amish population in the US. The term Dutch is a corruption of the word Deutsch or German. Many Amish are of German descent.
Wasn't that clock unbelievable. Lots of work went into that creation. My gosh some of that weather people are experiencing is just the worst. Stay safe Russ. We are watching and thank you so much for shares...I still like Gettysburg and that area. Carolyn and Colin from osoyoos b.c.
Russ thanks for visiting the quaint spots in Ohio! Just got back last fall from your neck of the woods or should I say desert!! If you head north in my neck of the woods. You should check out Geneva on the Lake and the harbor in Ashtabula! So many beautiful parks along the lake! Stay safe and keep on showing us the great place we call America the beautiful!
My hometown
4:58 - you used a rand mcnally or national geographic road atlas, or you picked up a state map at the gas station.
Love the cuckoo clock. Too cool school
I live about thirty minutes from Sugarcreek and never knew about all of this.🤔. Guess I need to make a point of going there.
It depends on the Bark....

SUGAR CREEK
SWEET
Washington D. C. Is the biggest!
Rally road maps. There is a very nice Amish community where I am originally from. The Amish town is called Yoder.👀🚐😁
Sugar Creek is about 15 minutes from where I live
Where's the Bird at Russ ?
If you get the opportunity to go to barberton ohio eat at Al's corner restaurant (hungarian) good food pretty competitive pricing , get there when they open since they often run out of food. ( also if you are in the Copley ohio area Rizzi's Pizza makes a terrific Pizza Blanco (white sauce garlic pizza) I'm not sure if they still offer buy one get one for a buck more tuesday specials but that's a freakin good pizza if you like garlic
Russ, would like to have seen inside of that red brick church! What were the red flowers in front of the cuckoo clock?
I believe that's a Buckeye tree.
New Philadelphia is deff not small town ohio its a bigger town. Sugar creek is awesome i live a half hour away from there.
2:22 - ok, it had an aldi, a walmart, a dennys, where's the dollar store?
Next to Big Lots across the street from Wal-Mart and Menards...
I was going to be staying in Sugarcreek last year but covid 19 nix those plans
Too far for me to roadtrip. However, that’s a cute daytrip 💕
Boy does you tube know how to interrupt a show with their untimely adds
Very cool. But the trees look kinda like crape Myrtle. Just my guess..
They aren't dogwood trees, but don't ask me what they are!
