We definitely don't know about other creatures, but we can surely have enough evidence that Megalodon doesn't exist scientifically.

They lose a ridiculous amount of teeth yet we only find old teeth, they prefer to hang around warmer water closer to the surface, a lot of the oceans don't have enough prey. They went extinct due to their size, other species were able to hunt more effectively and took status as the apex predator so they wouldn't even be able to catch prey effectively. You don't have to search parts of the ocean that the sharks couldn't survive in to know they don't exist...
