    You are SO right about the red pepper flakes in mac & cheese!!! I usually use ground red pepper powder and it is so daggone good and I have gotten others to try it and they too love it!! Also, another tip when cooking canned green beans, put a little dill weed in them. You won't believe the taste difference!!!!

    I have a friend who works at a department store that's been selling these Copper Chef products and she warned me off of buying them. It seems they've been getting an inordinate amount of returns from unhappy customers. It seems the non-stick claims are false and the pans do indeed require lubrication. Oil, butter, etc., and the pans aren't really scratch resistant.

    Made this today and it was great. Easy one pan recipe and my kids loved it. Made it in our Le Crueset and it needed frequent bottom scraping but wasn't bad at all. Added 2oz of velvetta because all good mac and cheese has that fake cheese in it to make it extra creamy. Thanks Jack!
    Oh yeah, I'm sure the copper pan is crap but the recipe is a winner.

    Yes the tops are stove save. I just made smoked chicken. Smoked ribs homemade chicken pot pie. Was awesome. Love these pans just got the whole set. Just read that the more you use it the harder it's to clean that's a lie. I've used my pan almost 50 times already. Cleans easily.

      Lucky you, you may be Eric Theiss, the owner and creator. I've used mine 5 to 6 times and it's impossible to clean.
      The eggs are not easy to clean either. The center is dark and everything sticks.
      When I've called QVC they told me a very different story: the warranty they've offered, it was not real. They gave me the direct phone of the manufacture, after calling several times, I just give up. It's sad to have so many expectations and this kind of miserable results.

    I made this yesterday. let me start by saying the pan is awesome. no complaints with the pan at all. the mac & cheese was actually not bad tasting either. however it was extremely greasy. maybe it was because I'm not use to eating mac & cheese from scratch, but the heavy cream did not agree with my stomach at all! spent all night with mud slides. can I substitute heavy cream for water at milk? too much grease for me

    That's an interesting way to make Mac and Cheese and that method would never have crossed my mind. I usually boil the pasta separately and make the cheese sauce in another pan, not that much differently. I use a little flour and melt the cheese with the heavy cream and then combine the two in a casserole dish, panko on top and bake. To kick it up a notch, I'll add finely chopped jalapeno and crumbled bacon. That said, your dish came out well.

  • @berighteous
    @berighteous 8 лет назад +2

    I ordered the copper chef online. I'm very careful cleaning it out, only paper towels or soft sponges, and about the second week of using it stuff started adhering to one place, not so much sticking, but adhering so you have to gently use the spatula to move whatever from that place. Now hamburgers or egg stick in that one spot and I have to scrape with the spatula to get the stuck stuff off. Nothing sticks to the rest of the pan. I think the coating is thinner there. Can't see any scratches or anything there. Have never used the scrubber on the sponges, but protein stuff sticks right there.

    • @longislandteresa151
      @longislandteresa151 8 лет назад +2

      you should write the company and tell them your pan is defective! According to them, this is to last for years.

    • @berighteous
      @berighteous 8 лет назад

      also the pan can easily get hot enough to melt the cheap utensils they send you. scraping stuck hamburger off the bottom melted the edge of the spatula, so not I can't turn pancakes with it. They say no metal utensils, but they give you a metal steamer basket and fry basket that sits on the bottom of the pan while in use.

    • @berighteous
      @berighteous 8 лет назад

      at least it isn't flaking teflon. I got it so I could finish things in the oven. Nothing that "sticks" sticks forever, I soak it in hot water for a few minutes and everything wipes out with a sponge
